It isn't even in the top 100 for the month in the US, it may have sold out quick but in terms of unit movement it didn't sell dick.

Damn maybe I should have pre-ordered one in case I change my mind by launch. The thirst for PlayStation products is real.

@dynamitecop: global allocation is going to be what it is at launch. It's less about launching as hugely as possible and more about setting expectation with third parties as to what to expect in a global installed userbase.

There will be more allocations. As those get snapped up, the picture will be clearer. VR is going strong.

I take this more as launch strategy, limit units intentionally, create shortage concerns, drum up demand, sell more.

6 is obviously a low figure but the stock had to be extremely limited, sub 100 I'd guess.

Best Buy, Target and multiple Gamestops (in store only) still have preorders available for those interested.

Go look at the things at the tail end of the top 100 and give me a figure of what you'd guess it sold, I can't image too many copies of Minecraft are moving these days for the Xbox 360 at $18...

Of course, the fanboy reasoning has flipped around. So one side is celebrating it selling out, while the other is claiming it's meaningless. Pretty sure this is the same thing that happened with the X1 Elite controller, and probably the same with preorders for steam machine/link/controller

@xhawk27: it's awesome! Even the Gear VR is flying off shelves and that is powered by a smart phone.

Did anyone make threads about those things though or were they points which came up in existing arguments? This seems pretty indicative of trying to pass low unit numbers off like they were flying off the shelves, limited stock of something brand new is always going to sell out at an insane rate, it means nothing.

That's the top 100 thus far for the month, if there were any type of note worthy numbers of the headset available it would have charted.

Too early to say but VR has more potential to be great than Kinect ever did. It will really only be limited by developer imagination. RIGS, GT Sport and Ace Combat 7 will probably be the main games to really show off what it is capable of early on.

I guess but right now it's a tad expensive.

Some people try to keep sinking ships afloat but once it starts sinking nothing is going to keep it afloat. That is the future of PSVR. Its delusional to think to the contrary. These are the same people who were very clear on why Kinect 2 fail and it that was a pack in.

You remember how HTC said they sold 15 000 units in first 10 minutes which didnt really give us a good picture of total sales? Well this is even less info
