@dxmcat: fortnite is ue4.
aware of that......I see UE4 as being able to do much better things than just another cartoon OW game tho. Tired of that fad.
I just wish they would do away with the locked 30fps on consoles. Let us use the power that's available to us (I got the Xbox one x). They don't lock the fps on pc (everyone has different cpus and graphics cards) so I don't understand why they feel the need to restrict console users who have the power to run the game even better.
The problem is PUBG is a CPU intense game. The CPU power available for the consoles is an absolute joke (AMD quad cores from 2009 aren't much slower than the consoles CPU).
They are letting you use the power available (in a big open world game like this, weak tablet CPU is a huge bottleneck).
One X might see 60FPS after a few patches but its gonna take some work/settings being lowered (ps4 and xboxone have no chance of ever seeing 60).
@xhawk27: A 1070 isn't high end. The comparison would likely be since so many lems have gone around talking about the x being equal to a 1070. Well, it's not.
Meanwhile on the GTX 1070 at 1080p...
Dude stop comparing high end PCs to consoles. I know you'll like to divert attention away from playstation no longer holds the power advantage in consoles anymore. lol
pretty sure you should blame Ron for this

Nothing to do with Playstation. Especially since this isn't even on PS4. You should talk to Ron.
@BigBadBully: yeah I'm hoping once it goes gold it'll be running 60fps on the one x. I bought my XbX under the assumption I would be able to run my games at settings higher than the basic consoles, so I hope microsoft and bluehole get this right soon.
@drlostrib: they are leaving it up to the devs but atleast microsoft has given the go ahead. And any first person shooter devs that chose not to allow their players to use kb/m are seriously handicapping their players potential.

Or they don't want people getting wrecked by m/kb users

Those hori controllers circumvent this. The mouse on them actually has an ok sensor from what I read. If you are using one, it will be extremely obvious to your opponents.
Game is awesome so far and I believe it will get better over time. This is an early access game so I knew there would be issues. Performance will only get better with time and everyone playing it will help them get more data to make the game better.
It will improve for sure, Fortnite ran like shit too
@cainetao11: Amen. Mine is coming in the mail today. Amazon had it for $25 preorder.
You up for some coop later tonight?
I'll probably buy it soon, we should totally do a SW run together.

I am sure it will and anyone who thinks differently is just fanboying right now. Early access game you expect bugs and performance issues. Hell it took a while to even get this game to run remotely well on a PC and from what I understand it still runs pretty shitty.

I remember when they allowed M/K in Quake3 and I use to have so much fun going in and wrecking face with people still trying to use a joystick.
And it's hot trash garbage on console. It has no business being on them with those archaic CPUs. It's an unoptimized jank indie game with more people hired to oversee the servers over making a decent looking game.

@Xabiss: you guys are misunderstanding what I'm proposing. What I'm proposing is 2 separate servers or lobbies, one for the players using controllers, and one for players using kb/m. In this scenario there won't be any unfair advantages. I realise this will inevitably split the player base but in the long run I believe it will be a case of survival of the fittest, and more and more players will start to migrate to kb/m controls for fps, and eventually the majority of players will be using kb/m. This will become the new standard on consoles, and they can leave a small server on for folks that still prefer controller. Or instead of creating separate servers for each control method, make the game cross play with pc and when the game detects kb/m it automatically transfers you to the pc servers. Everyone wins.

none of that makes any sense
The game is not a looker by any stretch, but I think it plays pretty good.... I for one am glad I picked it up and no regrets!
Same here, I played several matches without any major issues and things get better after you parachute and start roaming around. Honestly in the lobby I kept laughing seeing dozens of people jumping around and stuff, to have 60 players in a small confine like that on launch day in an Early Access it ran pretty good to me, things should only improve from here.
I had a lot of fun playing it and I immediately wanted to play more, it's an addictive experience and I look forward to them polishing it more, but personally with my past experiences with this kind of high profile online launch, I thought the game ran reasonably well overall good enough so that I wanted to keep playing it.

That's stupid.
@drlostrib: im sorry, read it again. I'm sure I didn't write some secret language that's above your comprehension level.

So you want a game that is constantly checking whether a kb/m is plugged in so that it can automatically kick a player from one server and put them in another? Even if it's mid game? That's stupid.
@Zero_epyon: no it would detect your control method once you chose the multiplayer option of said game. And why are you switching controller methods in the middle of a game? That's stupid. What I'm suggesting is as fair as one can objectively make it.

Just because it's in english doesn't mean it makes sense
For starters, splitting the player base for a game that is based on having 100 players per round is not a good plan. Also, I don't know where your idea of survival of the fittest is coming in since if you do create separate servers for each control type that removes any pressure to push users one way or the other.

@drlostrib: splitting the player base of a game like pubg which has over a million (1.3 million over the last 30 days according to steam) concurrent players really won't affect your ability to find a full match. And if given the choice between kb/m or controllers, most players would chose the kb/m for first person shooters. That control method would be the survivor of that "battle royale", hence my use of the phrase survival of the fittest.

The assumptions you're making still make no sense
There's no driving force in the game pushing console-centric gamers to using a keyboard and mouse. And people will be more wary of switching if they are being put into a smaller population of users which causes issues with finding a full game of 100 people.
@drlostrib: theres no driving force? Lol. Everyone wants the precision and accuracy increase with their aim, thats what a mouse can do for you. You're way off base and out of touch with what fps players want. I'm just making an argument to have the OPTION of using kb/m when playing on console, is that so bad? You're obviously against giving players options, and that's ok. I'll live in the land of choices and options, you can live in a land where there are none, enjoy that.

I was just pointing out the fallacies of your post, which still remain
@drlostrib: I hear ya, it's your opinion, sorry you lack the vision and comprehension to understand my fairly simple post.
@drlostrib: I hear ya, it's your opinion, sorry you lack the vision and comprehension to understand my fairly simple post.
the assumptions in your post made no sense, thus the problem would seem to be on your end
I'm going to add something to your arguments. It would be interesting if they did split the servers and made the keyboard and mouse servers cross platform with some servers on the PC version. Now that would be interesting. Then my carpal tunnel friend and I could play in the same game. Lol
In fact, they should have two sets, one cross platform with PC and one on its own. And on PC, they have the same thing, with one exception, you HAVE to be in a squad with a console player to play on the console servers, or else PC players would just get on the console servers for easy wins.
@DragonfireXZ95: ahh, how refreshing, a person of reason and understanding . I did suggest the possibility of making the game cross play with pc in my original post, so the game could detect if you're using kb/m and automatically switch you to the pc servers. I like your idea but the developers might say it's too expensive to run that many servers. We can dream though.
I just wish they would do away with the locked 30fps on consoles. Let us use the power that's available to us (I got the Xbox one x). They don't lock the fps on pc (everyone has different cpus and graphics cards) so I don't understand why they feel the need to restrict console users who have the power to run the game even better.
I guess I'll hold out hope for some cross play with pc users. I would love some mouse and keyboard support from developers going forward, the consoles are basically turnkey pcs anyways. It might split the user base a little bit but this game will have more than enough players to support the split, plus imho I believe more and more people will make the switch to mouse and keyboard controls for their first person shooter games once they see how much better those controls are for that genre.
Plus they're absolutely aiming for e-sports with this game so it makes even more sense to implement those pc controls on consoles
No offense, but the X can' even handle the 30 on this game. So it wouldn't even matter if they unlocked the fps cap. You will need hardware that has a better CPU to run this game better. This game is poorly optimized and so it really shows on the Xbox.

Well, if they did that, they'd have to disable keyboard and mouse completely once you join a controller server, because as it is now, you can switch between m/kb and controller on the fly while inside the game on PC.
But yeah, cross platform would be nice, just so I could play with my Xbox only friends. I wonder if they'd also have to limit the servers on the cross platform PC side to 30 fps lol. Might be too many technical hiccups, although, Bluehole did express interest in cross platform already.

This game plays horrible and is still broken. I notice still playing this game that I can be right in front of someone and unload bullets on them and it acts like it doesn't even hit them.

This game is broken. They can't even get it to play correctly. And now you want them to add split play with controller and kb/m? That is dumb. I agree they should allow you to play with kb/m, but don't had more hectic into the coding to try and split the players.
@duane33319: because you could join a controller only server with a controller then switch to Kb m and start owning people left and right, defeating the purpose of having two servers in the first place.
@Diddies: it's a feature I'd like to see implemented in the future, no one said it needs to happen right away, jeez. Obviously they need get the game playing right first, duh, that should go without saying.
I cant believe i have to say this but everyone needs to calm down, the game is in early access, what makes you think it would be polished and optimized at such an early stage of its xbox development cycle, patience my friends, in a few months the game will be much improved and you can fill you bellies with as many chicken dinners as you want. Cheers, and happy gaming.

Well it's an early access xbox one console exclusives, so performance issues simply opened the floodgates for the fanboys to come here and talk shit.
