If it plays games, it belongs on System Wars regardless of audience. Why do you think we've kept the PC here for? PC's target everyone but can be used as a gaming system so we're keeping it in System Wars. The Wii targets everyone but is primarily a gaming system and for whatever reason, we're considering disqualifying it from System Wars.

At this point, there really isn't anything Nintendo can do to win back this gamer in this generation. They want to go after the casual market, so be it, it is obviously a smart financial move. Just stop acting like you are still catering to the core gamers. Their E3 was a casual fest, they should just admit it and move on instead of acting like the announcements of Animal Crossing and that the Mario and Zelda teams are working on games should appease core gamers.

Considering most of todays 'old people' were 'young people'(no not 12 yearolds like most 360 owners it seems, but late teens/early 20's) when the video game(arcade) industry first started, I'd say then YES a lot of 'old people' are into video games. Probably even more so than you'll ever be.

So are overall almost all gamers. PS3 owners were delight by two 30 sec teasers (MAG and GoW 3). It was just 30 sec teasers, with no history info, no gameplay, etc.

Some games hacve enough fame for more details to be needed. And Mario and Zelda are some of them.

Besides, if we "N-fans" are easy to please, that's our problem, not yours.

I think the issue is balance though, at least it is with me. I don't really PC game, but I'm pretty sure they have a large library of games with incredible depth, wether it be shooters, some WRPGs, driving, tactical, etc. Honestly, I would be happy if the 360 had a few more games like Mario or Zelda. I certainly enjoy those, but when a console offers so much that seems to lack any kind of depth of gameplay nor involving story, I get turned off. Maybe I'm just missing this abundance of deep games (I'm obviously talking of games other than the single games from their 3 big franchises).

Honestly, if the Wii and the 360/PS3 could have a love child, I would be a happy camper.

I have a Wii and I will only say: It's not at all in the same league as the other two consoles though it okay for a secondary.

My guess where many sales may be coming from since many who's first purchase was a PC/360/PS3, we purchased a Wii for umm the more casual side of gaming like when non VG playing family & friends are visiting.

I do believe it's quite the farce to say Nintendo is "winning" this gen. just based off sales numbers.

Many, if not the vast majority of us who own both the Wii and a PC,360, or PS3 - if forced to choose only one of them to keep; It wouldn't be the Wii.

Argh, where did I say core gamers can't enjoy casual games? They are catering to the casuals, but that doesn't mean that there aren't games core gamers can enjoy. There is a distinction. For this gamer, those games that I could enjoy are few and far between, but that is my opinion, this is a forum full of opinions, so there we go.

as a wii owner, i think the wii is a decent system

it has some great games like SMG (GOTY btw), SSBB, zelda TP and MP3, RE

has some decent 3rd party titles like No More Heroes too

plus, the backwards compatibility with GC and virtual console are great features too .. important for people that haven't played classic games of the past but want to

it's lineup isn't for everyone, and isn't as good as the 360's IMO, but it has quality of its own

i couldn't do with just a wii, but i couldn't do without it either

it's as much a part of system wars as any other system .. trying to have it removed is absolutely ridiculous and a desperate measure .. you're prob just jealous of its success

you might not like how it's attracting so many non-gamers, but nintendo wants these non-gamers to become more traditional gamers in the future and therefore help expand the market

we were all non-gamers at some point, remember

According to me this is a bunch of BS. I'm sick of people telling me how much Nintendo sucks and how they mess up gaming. Ridiculous. Why should people look down on the Wii just because it's new? It's in fact so new that most developers still hasn't gotten their act together to create some games for the console. But the Wii is one of the reason the industrie has grown so much over the years and made Gaming more and more of a standard. Sure you could argue that it lacks a bit of power but that doesn't keep my sisters and myself from having tons of fun with Brawl and Galaxy.

I enjoy my 360 but I don't try to keep people from enjoying their Wii's. Sony and Microsoft deserve no loyal fans, so don't try to justify your ignorance.

Why did you buy the wii?for family fun? i don't hate the wii, i just don't like what it has to offer, depends on taste,

SMG, Zelda, Metriod, SPM, SSBB all great games. Plus there are some decent more violent games in NMH, and REUC. On top of RE4 plays the best with the Wii. Also the new COD is being built from the ground up for the Wii so it should be pretty cool.

Before i start im going to say that im not a fanboy, i do have a wii and a ps3 and i have an xbox from last gen.

Ok wii is the only gaming console this gen. It only playes games. ps3 and xbox 360 are more of a a media players which you can play games on. So by your logic ps3 and 360 are the ones that should be removed from SW.

Most of my friends are casuals and most of them had a ps2 last gen. And pretty much all of them just played GOW 1 and 2, NFS and Midnight club games and GTA. Now im not calling a ps2 a casual system, but those 130 million systems were sold not just to core gamers.

And why does a wii need to be a hardcore system to stay in SW? It is a gaming system, there are games on it that you might not like but it doesnt mean that if you dont like them everybody should hate them.

So to me it looks like that you are like 10 or so and you are crying about your systems falling behind the wii sales. I believe that when system wars are done, in the end its all about which system sold the most and not about if its casual or core.

No. I'm sick of people saying that the wii isn only selling to non gamers. If that was actually true, then it would be the non games that were selling. But that's not what's happening. It the good wii games that sell well, and that's because GAMERS aer buying them.

There's not 1 good reason to remove the wii from the war. It's just you fanboys upset that your console is losing to nintendo's

I'm 36 and enjoy the Wii perfectly fine. Thread dismissed.
