I'v been keeping an eye on MC2 for quite sometime now, it looks like a good game despite the bad reviewes( 6.0 on GS), seeing from the past RPG's i'v learned my lesson to NOT get any RPG on the 360 since sooner or later it will be ported to ps3 with a better version, imo 360 isnt right for JRPGS that is why i buy my RPG's for ps3 only, anyone knows how long will it take for them to annouce the ps3 version?

Why didnt they go multiplat?

i know a lot of people that are waiting for the ps3 version and myself included, for those that got the game what would you rate this game? is it even worth it to wait for a port?

Unreal Engine 3 and PS3 don't really mix that well, which is what engine Magna Carta II used.

Also it was planned since 2004/5 that it was in development for the xbox 360.

Finally if you like the game so much then why does it matter what system?

If you ask me then yes i gotta agree the company sure made a mistake, they should have made it on ps3 or at least multiplat ps3 and 360, i dont remember ever seeing the game on the Japanese charts.. actually dont remember seeing it on any chart :P no NA or Japan, seeing how amazing FFXIII is doing in Japan and how well ToV did in Japan both on ps3 i think this will make the company to port the game to ps3 in the futrue with again extra content, will it be ported to ps3? im pretty sure it will yes

putting it *exclusively* on 360 was a mistake. the sales potential for a ps3 version would be just as great as 360's when considering the ppl that only have 1 system.

It has no only of 360 label on it and it's published by Namco Bandai so maybe a PS3 port with extra content isn't out of the question next year.

It's not a jrpg, it's Korean. How many threads are you going to make about the 360 "not right" for jrpgs? We get it already....

i dont see how people expected that game to do well, it wasnt even appealing or interesting, not to mention the combat system was meh. so no, is not 360 mistake as you ps3 fanbuys says, now that ps3 fanbuys buy anything even bad jrpg just to have a jrpg then be my guest

I think a PC port is more likely. First, the game is Korean in origin (and Koreans like PCs). Second, it uses the UE3, which is definitely PC-friendly.

Do we REALLY need to go through this again? Don't you remember the last thread where I posted SALES FIGURES that showed JRPGs have sold BETTER on the 360 than the PS3? This whole "it would have done better on the PS3" is complete nonsense. No sales figures show this, it actually shows the opposite. Up until FFXIII (which would have sold AMAZING no matter what system) the best selling RPG was Lost Odyssey, a 360 exclusive. Why do you think FFXIII went multiplat in the US to begin with? Because of the better than expected sales of JRPGs on the system. Combined with the low sales of JRPGs on the PS3. Magna Carta 2 didn't sell because it's a poor game. It hit every cliche in the book from character design to storyline, while also having NO advertising. I haven't see such a bad mismanagement of a release since Tales of Vesperia on the 360 (which had an awful launch due to the Developer doing some stupid stuff) which I'm sure had an impact on sales as well.

It actually is a pretty good game, but I hate JRPG's of its kind, yet I still enjoyed it to an extent. I'm sure it'll be on PS3 sometime soon. It's Bandai/Namco...

MS made a decision to go after exclusive RPGs. They paid for it so they get it. Now will it be ported to the PS3, depends on a couple of things. What is the contract with MS and exclusivity? If it is only a timed contract, do the developers even have enough cash to port it (assuming they will need to add stuff to make it attractive for PS3 owners). I'm betting it goes to PS3 in Japan but I'm not sure about outside of that.

I'd pick this game up if were much cheaper. I'm waiting for a price drop before I buy it. Seems like a decent RPG to pass the time. If it ever does come to the PS3 I'll probably pass. Just rather buy the cheaper copy.

I LOVE HTK's artwork. Don't care much for the Magna Carta's though.

and LOL@360 not for jrpg's. what a totally close-minded and fanboy thing to say. really.

I know it's a KRPG but if Namco Bandai publishes a port I doubt it would be on PC all their other ports this generation have been on PSP & PS3.

Namco Bandai is the most confused company this gen, the dont know what they're doing.

I wouldnt be surprised if Magna Carta 2 does get ported AND localized BUT they dont localize Tales of Graces... or Vesperia PS3, or VS or Tales of the World 2 etc.

I dont get them. The Tales of series fairs well in America but they'd rather localize Eternal Sonata, Magna Carta and Fragile Dreams and say thats enough?

Namco Bandai are the worst Japanese RPG loclization company IMO. There have been 14 Tales games release this generation Tales Of Hearts (DS) Tales Of Innocence (DS) Tales Of The Tempest (DS) Tales Of Graces (Wii) Tales Of Symphonia 2: Dawn Of The New World (Wii) Tales Of Destiny 2 (Port) (PSP) Tales Of Eternia (Port) (PSP) Tales Of Phantasia (Remake) (PSP) Tales Of Radiant Mythology (PSP) Tales Of Radiant Mythology 2 (PSP) Tales Of Rebirth (Port) (PSP) Tales Of Vs. (PSP) Tales Of Vesperia (360) Tales Of Vesperia (Port) (PS3) The only ones we've seen are Tales Of Radiant Mythology (PSP), Vesperia (360) & Tales Of Symphonia 2 (Wii).

The PSP versions not coming to the states not entirely Namco's fault. Sony Computer Entertainment America doesn't allow straight ports of games to be released in the U.S. while SCEE & SCEJ do. Tales Of Eternia & Breath Of Fire III Straight ports were released in both Japan & Europe but America because of this. However, Namco simply said the DS Tales games were staying in Japan. Tales Of Vs. & Graces still have a chance to make it stateside as they were newly released and no word either way have been given on them.

Magna Carta 2 on xbox 360 wasnt a mistake its just the way it is the game is ok at best. The thing is that all the jrpgs that came out on ps3 sold like crazy IN JAPAN they dont sell as good in the US as far as the EU i dont think it does that well either. But if you think that Star Ocean 4 is gonna sell a million copies outside of japan then you need help. The highest selling PS3 RPG JRPG is Demon Souls so please stop with the it would do better on the ps3 cause its a myth and a half y'all dont even buy decent games like Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 let alone a game like valkyria Chronicles.

JRPG's sale about the same on the 360 & PS3 outside of Japan but better on the PS3 in Japan so if a JRPG developer wanted the most sales for an exclusive and didn't want to go Wii, DS or PSP, the PS3 would be the best option.

Check any game you want on VGChartz (until we get something better, they're all we got). I already did this, but I dunno where the thread is and I don't feel like putting in the time to list it all again. The point is Worldwide sales of JRPG show that a 360 exclusive - LO (up until FFXIII was released) had sold the most copies, WW of any JRPG. When comparing exclusive JRPGs the 360 have had on par sales figures with PS3 exclusives OR sold better in MANY cases. Then whatever multiplat JRPGs (Eternal Sonata, etc. etc.) sold better on the 360 WW. The only game I could find that the PS3 sold more copies of was Enchanted Arms, but that had more to do with being a launch 360 game than anything else. This is not true. When you look at total WW sales of exclusive JRPGs or multiplats, it's clear the 360 has BETTER WW sales on a whole.

Yeah but there is a major difference The 360 Exclusive JRPG's Losy Odyssey / Blue Dragon while being new IPs had tons of advertisements in Japan and Final Fantasies original creator behind them which played a major role in their sales. Infinite Undiscovery & Magna Carta 2 didn't do so hot. The PS3 Exclusive JRPG's / SRPG's Demon's Souls, Cross Edge, Disgaea are all niche titles with no backing or famous names to help them sale and Valkyria Chronicles did very well in Japan but was released during the holiday rish in the states and flopped. The multiplats the PS3 got late ports of all of them so far (Eternal Sonata, Enchanted Arms, Tales Of Vesperia (which sold better in Japan), ). 2010 will be telling as the majority of them are coming out on both the 360 & PS3 on launch (Not counting Final Fantasy XIII obviously.).

MagnaCarta 2 is the worst RPG this generation. Don't even worry about it.

No Two Worlds and Blue Dragon are still the worst.

Back pedaling at it's finest.

I don't care what the reasons are. I'm simply saying, JRPGs have sold better on the 360. All these cows trying to claim that the 360 isn't the console for JRPGs when their system has preformed worse in said genre is completely silly.

Both Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon had better sales than GOTY PS3 Exclusive Demon's Souls; and TOV even with a horribly botched US/EU launch sold at the same level as DS. When your systems best JRPG (I use that term loosely) isn't even in the top 3 of JRPGs (in terms of sales) on the competitors, to make any claims that your system is the preferred platform for the genre shows just how blind fanboys really are.

The PS3 has performed well with what it's been given late ports and niche titles that wouldn't sale on the 360 if it was in the same situation (Take a look at the sales of Zoids Assault, Cross Edge Dash, Operation Darkness, Spectral Force 3). It's been shown that late ports sell less then if release at launch at the but hell TOV sold more in Japan on the PS3 because of series name. Demon's Souls only had around 250,000 - 300,000 copies printed in the U.S. by Atlus so how is it supposed to sale more then fully printed games like Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon when there are not even that many copies printed?

In my opinion, if a JRPG developer wants to make a non Wii / Handheld "Exclusive"JRPG it should go to the PS3 because besides Final Fantasy the majority of JRPG's stillsale best in Japan where the 360 is a failure.

No it's not, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is.siLVURcross
Um, it's a port of a game that was released back in the beginning of the 32-bit era. I still have the EGM issue from Febraury '96 with the mini strategy guide.

Blue Dragon is decent when you compare it with Two Worlds.

FF is like Pokemon and Dragon Quest in Japan--they sell just on the name. From what I hear, though, a number of people are ruing their purchase. I've been hearing rumors about a backlash against Square-Enix.
