[QUOTE="FlamesOfGrey"] Yeah but there is a major difference The 360 Exclusive JRPG's Losy Odyssey / Blue Dragon while being new IPs had tons of advertisements in Japan and Final Fantasies original creator behind them which played a major role in their sales. Infinite Undiscovery & Magna Carta 2 didn't do so hot. The PS3 Exclusive JRPG's / SRPG's Demon's Souls, Cross Edge, Disgaea are all niche titles with no backing or famous names to help them sale and Valkyria Chronicles did very well in Japan but was released during the holiday rish in the states and flopped. The multiplats the PS3 got late ports of all of them so far (Eternal Sonata, Enchanted Arms, Tales Of Vesperia (which sold better in Japan), ). 2010 will be telling as the majority of them are coming out on both the 360 & PS3 on launch (Not counting Final Fantasy XIII obviously.).mythrol
Back pedaling at it's finest.
I don't care what the reasons are. I'm simply saying, JRPGs have sold better on the 360. All these cows trying to claim that the 360 isn't the console for JRPGs when their system has preformed worse in said genre is completely silly.
Both Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon had better sales than GOTY PS3 Exclusive Demon's Souls; and TOV even with a horribly botched US/EU launch sold at the same level as DS. When your systems best JRPG (I use that term loosely) isn't even in the top 3 of JRPGs (in terms of sales) on the competitors, to make any claims that your system is the preferred platform for the genre shows just how blind fanboys really are.
The PS3 has performed well with what it's been given late ports and niche titles that wouldn't sale on the 360 if it was in the same situation (Take a look at the sales of Zoids Assault, Cross Edge Dash, Operation Darkness, Spectral Force 3). It's been shown that late ports sell less then if release at launch at the but hell TOV sold more in Japan on the PS3 because of series name. Demon's Souls only had around 250,000 - 300,000 copies printed in the U.S. by Atlus so how is it supposed to sale more then fully printed games like Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon when there are not even that many copies printed?
In my opinion, if a JRPG developer wants to make a non Wii / Handheld "Exclusive"JRPG it should go to the PS3 because besides Final Fantasy the majority of JRPG's stillsale best in Japan where the 360 is a failure.
