Going in, i was really against the idea of qore. Why would I want to pay money for stuff that should be free. So instead of buying the year, I bought the frst issue (2.99) to see how i is. And i have to say, its pretty good. I can really see alot of potential in something like this. With this we can get Betas (socom sometime this month) and videos that, as far as I know, we cant get anywhere else. Plus some other cool little stuff. And its only 2.99, so its not expensive (it the price of a coffee pretty much.) ill probaly be buying the next issue.
I will subscribe eventually (when Socom beta is released), but I am a little worried that DLC, demos, and other stuff that would have been free before Qore will now only be available to it's subscribers. Meaning I will have some content, that my friends that live and die by "free online" won't have.
I tried it out of curiosity plus the Socom content. It is pretty cool , the interface was nice , the interviews and videos were fine.
I can't highly recommend it to everyone because it costs money , but it is ok for what it is. Oh , the Star Wars stuff was pretty good actually , I am a little more interested in that game now than I was previously ...... I guess that is the power of marketing at work. And now I am hungry for Burger King and Metal Gear Solid 4.
I think we all kinda have to realize that these things cost money. we online folk have grown so accustomed to free stuff that we want and expect everything to be free. But these things cost money., So if I have to pay 3 bucks a month for a cool service, ill do it if I like it.
I'm not sold on the "game beta" One or two games isn't enough for a full year subscription. Its one of those "I'll believe when it happens" things. But like the TC said, its cheap so its not like you're really losing out.
I really wish the first issue of Qore was free, but I know Sony didn't let that happen. It would've gave everybody a taste and who knows probably bait and catch some of these folks. And trust me, these "exclusive" videos and interviews aren't really exclusive at all, well maybe it's a timed exclusive, because it's only a matter of time when you could watch these videos over the internet.
So you gotta ask yourself, what's the real benefits with Qore. Is it the betas, but I know there's always more than one way to get into betas and one of them is by pre-ordering the game and you can always cancel your pre-order and get your money back. Is it the videos, but I know these things will be shown over the internet. Is the ads, well that might be it, if all these ads are in Qore and doesn't bother the rest of us free PSN users than that's benefitting us.
Hope Qore becomes a worthwhile service, for the benefit of every PS owner who wants to use it. But I personally, would never trust Sony (especially their gaming devision) to deliver me my news. I would compare it to asking Hitler in '45 for an objective resume of the state of Germany.
Like hell I'm going to pay for the option to see trailers! A trailer is basically an ad, or a promotion of a game and they want me to pay so I can watch that??!? If anything they should be paying me!

I agree. Same thing goes for betas. I mean they're letting you test their games for bugs and such, they should pay you or make the beta free because betas are usually free right.

Beta isnt up yet, this month sometime. I dont think tehres any demos. Videos included some cool SW force ubleashed stuff, like some Dev interviews adn Gmaeplay footages that showed you fighting a Rancor. They had a Soul Calibur vid that interviewed one of the devs. THere was a Afro samurai Vid. A Increadible Hulk Movie Trailer, Some Secret Agent Clank stuff, a Exclusive SOCOM theme, And theres some Socom Videos. im not sure what else though, cant remember off the top of my head.
I just downloaded the first episode. Do I still get the beta when it is released? Also I found a free game in Qore at the menu. I think you press L2 to get to it. Its not much but it is there. I am sry if its old
I downloaded it as well *to try it out* and it would be a cool thing if they would actually get exclusive stuff, alot of the video and such i've seen before either online or on xbox live marketplace.
