Story about the new QD tech: LINK

"Welcome to Kara, the product of Quantic Dream's recent work on the PlayStation 3, and of its investment in new motion capture facilities. Again it's a one-woman show built around a slow tonal shift, again channelled through a strong and actorly central performance - but the distance between Kara and The Casting is as good a measure as any of the technical progress we've seen this generation, and of a shift in ambition and capability within Quantic Dream."

Absolutely unlikely, but something on the Wii U would be... interesting.

EDIT: As for what I am expecting, I expect another title in the vein of Heavy Rain, but multiplat this time. Sort of a Demons Souls/Dark Souls situation.

I think it will be totally different from Heavy Rain, other than being pretentious and having bad voice acting.

In recent interview I believe David Cage commented on maintaining an exclusive relationship with Sony for now.

Wasn't that a few years ago though? Something might have changed since then... Regardless, I really enjoyed Heavy Rain, flawed though it was, so I look forward to see what he has in store for us next. Hopefully, it isn't just another mainstream shooter in an attempt to appeal to a larger audience :?

I absolutely loved Indigo Prophecy (a.k.a Fahrenheit), but didn't find Heavy Rain worthy of buying a PS3. This time, I hope it'll be a multiplat, if it's a good game.

Last year. He also said that he'd be open to acquisition by Sony.

Despite its flaws I liked Heavy Rain, and hopefully his next project is similarly distinct from most of what's out there today.

Heavy Rain's sales - north of 2 million - justify taking a similar risk.

Heavy Rain sold that much? This makes me incredibly glad. It was something remarkably distinct, and it deserved recognition. An acquisition by Sony would be great, especially since then Sony would have one more quality developer under their wing, and Quantic Dream would be able to secure more funding. In any case, I'm interested in seeing what he has in store. Hopefully NOT Heavy Rain 2.

Looking at the sales for AW compared to HR it seems games like HR and AW are more PS crowd's speed

not happening. Cage went to M$, EA, etc. to pitch his project but they all turned him down. only Sony greenlit and funded Heavy Rain. i'm betting Mr. Cage would pay back Sony for believing in him in the first place.

and yes, HR sold 2 million units, and projected loss of 1 million sold as used copies.

what are you talking about? HR has full of action. to anyone saying it was easy, try playing on Hard mode while keeping all characters alive without reloading. i did that and it was AWESOME.

It depends how you define "action", there were lots of heart pounding action sequences in heavy rain that had you on edge constantly. Thats without having to manually run around and aim a gun.

Awesome. I loved Heavy Rain, but Indigo Prophecy didn't really click for me. Too much gameplay... Yes, I understand it is a video game, but I don't like the interactions when it seems forced. And really, those quick-time events (not really quick, honestly) were ridiculously drawn out. I quit a third of the way through. I couldn't handle it anymore. I don't mind the minimal interaction. The choices are what drives these games, and they need to be a video game to achieve that. But brushing my ****ing teeth and looking for a book in a giant library is not fun. If people mock it for being less of a game, so be it; just create the best experience you can in whichever way that might be.

The first one was the very definition of unnecessary. I don't recall the second sequence you're referring to, but the game was littered with "I SWEAR YOU'RE PLAYING A VIDEO GAME" moments. How many fights were in that game? It was ridiculous.

sure, unnecessary to the plot but not unnecessary to the experience. big difference. it was the first heart-pounding sequence in the game. the 2nd one was with the "surgeon". there were many fights, but some are shorter than others. also, there were tons of downtime as well like Shelby babysitting or Jayden using the ARI. it wasn't action after action after action.

and what video game exactly has no "I SWEAR YOU'RE PLAYING A VIDEO GAME" moments? NONE.

YES! I'm extremely excited to find out what it is...I loved indigo prophecy and heavy rain. I just hope it's something for this gen since I didn't really plan on buying any new consoles...but quantic dream typically releases one game a gen. I wonder if this is the announcement that Eurogamer said that wow'd them and will make the internet go bananas - tho I highly doubt it.

Interested: Because at the least I can say Heavy Rain and Indigo Prophecy were so different from the norm that they were worth trying out

Skeptical: Because their games are entirely story dependent with very little game play puts more stock into the story element of their games. And they are 2 for 2 in providing a really stupid story.

Side Note: I think David Cage is a jackass.
