Xbox One title Quantum Break will also be released on PC, and both versions will launch on April 5, developer Remedy Entertainment and publisher Microsoft have confirmed.

Remedy has updated the system requirements. It appears the game has Recommended and Ultra settings:

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4460, 2.70GHz or AMD FX-6300
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260x
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • VRAM: 2 GB
  • HDD: 55 GB available space
  • DX: DirectX 12

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 4690, 3.9GHz or AMD equivalent
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 390
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • VRAM: 4 GB
  • HDD: 55 GB available space
  • DX: DirectX 12

Ultra:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • CPU: Intel Core i7 4790, 4GHz or AMD equivalent
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 980 Ti or AMD Radeon R9 Fury X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • VRAM: 6 GB
  • HDD: 55 GB available space
  • DX: DirectX 12

Windows 10 exclusive, naturally...

Also, if you purchase the X1 version, you get the Windows 10 one for free.

HOW DO I GET THE WINDOWS 10 VERSION OF THE GAME FOR FREE?

Starting February 11, anyone who pre-orders the digital version of “Quantum Break” for Xbox One through the Xbox Store will receive the Windows 10 version of the game for free, downloadable at the Windows Store via redemption code. The pre-order offer also applies for those who redeem a digital code purchased from participating retailers or from the Xbox One Special Edition Quantum Break Bundle by April 5, 2016.

Thanks @-lostrib-

Oh, and this

Win10 Exclusive FTW. :P

EDIT: This is really cool, I never got the DLC so this is a fine bonus for those like me buying the X1 version. :D

"As part of the announcement, Remedy also revealed the Xbox One version will include a full game download of Remedy's last game, Alan Wake, along with its two DLC add-ons, The Signal and The Writer."

We all knew it was coming but I was expecting it to hit PC several months or even a year after Xbox One. Microsoft is delivering on their promise of catering to PC gamers so far.

Also lol @XboxOne owners.

PC gaming use to have incredable exclusives such as the Age Of Empire series.

Now pc gamers get excited by "support" that amounts to Xbox built, Xbox promoted ports.

Yaaayyyyyy!

Except we still get them. XCOM 2, Homeworld, Darkest Dungeons. We have Star Citizen that is hopefully coming early next year, Inner Chains that looks interesting, Unreal Tournament. We also got Fortnite, Kingdom Come Deliverance and many others.

Go troll elsewhere.

Chill, the are inflated most likely. TW3 asks for a 7870 as a minimum yet I had no problems playing it at High and 1080p and maintain 30fps on a 7850 which is a notch below a 7870. I just had to set ''Foliage Visible Range'' to medium.

980 Ti will be max settings at 1440p and close to or around 60fps. May need to disable AA or some crazy performance hog that provides very little visual benefits.

Yep, a multi-platform game. I think we knew that already.

My expectations are really low for this one. The TV episode integration sounds like a gimmick that will not end well.

lol speaking of strategy we just had Starcraft 2 Protoss xpac an Homeworld DOK (and XCOM 2), we also have Total War Warhammer, Battlefleet Gothic Armada, Blitzkrieg 3, Starcraft Nova Ops, Master of Orion 4 and a slew from smaller studios like Endless Space 2, Ashes of Singularity, Battletech etc to look forward to.

And didn't Age of Empires 2 had a new xpac recently? IIRC

Meanwhile, in console-ville...

One of the least surprising ports ever, but this provides yet more evidence that Xbox One is simply redundant to anyone who owns a gaming PC and can live without Halo. Sure, Xbox One still has some exclusives on the horizon, but at this point it's hard to figure out which first party games are actually going to stay exclusive.

Anyway, it's not really a bad thing; one less machine taking up desk space in the living room and more people have access to a great franchise. And it means QB in high settings and 1440p, which I look forward to!

Xbox games being released in PC is great. A greater audience will allow developers to take more risks in AAA games and to develop more innovative games for smaller audiences.

I don't understand the hype around the game, so I don't really care. I'm guessing this is a mediocre/good game that gets way too much attention, as usual. Hope I'm wrong, though.

@mems_1224: Indeed, here is a quote from the Gamespot article....I wonder what that last part means, about the saves....does the Win 10 version use the same cloud saves as Xbox One? If so that is pretty cool:

UPDATE] The Quantum Break website explains that people who pre-order the digital version of Quantum Break for Xbox One will get a free copy of the Windows 10 edition. This offer expires April 4. The game supports saves across Xbox One and PC, but there is no cross-platform play.

That's cool. Interested to see how much better it looks on PC, it already looked good.

If this and Scalebound come to GOG that would be amazing. But Microsoft really doesn't give two shits about true exclusives lol Xbox one will be the first console I don't buy in a few generations.

Except he is right. Xbox is merely a side business for them. Nintendo pretty much lives off their video games and now that Sony's other more profitable businesses are struggling, they need the Playstation to be successful more than ever.

Microsoft is on the upswing and wants to encourage mass adoption of Windows 10.

Xbox is merely an afterthought to them.

There's still a caveat to this that greatly decides what I buy it on, if this won't be available on Steam and the Windows 10 store is a requirement, that's a pretty big deal breaker for me.

I'm not interested in the show, so not sure if it's any good, but the game went F2P afaik, which doesn't exactly scream success.
