It's not the fans, geordilaforge. The dvd speed in the 360 is way, way faster than the PS3's blu-ray so it loads much quicker. This leads to the disc spinning incredibly quickly and very noisily with games which require heavy loading, like Gears. The loading time on that game are so fast, but it's loading so much at the same time - it spins like crazy.Ninja-Vox

New systems are getting better with quieter DVD drives. So by end of 2007 you should get one quiet 360. :)

I wonder how all those PS3 gamers with the 20gb HDD are going to feel about losing 1/4 of their space.

Most console owners won't know how to take out the HDD and buy a new one and format it to work with the PS3. If they wanted upgrades they would have bought a PC instead. :lol:
