Long way to go to catch up to the ps2. Jelly? :cool:ispeakfactThe 360 has sold more than double its predecessor while the PS3 has sold less than half. So. What exactly do we have to be jelly about? Last gen is over, Sony won. This gen is almost over, but this time, Sonh got their ass kicked.
Add the fact that ATLEAST half those sales were people buying there 3rd or 4th XBOX due to hardware failure. I wonder if Microsoft is going to add hardware failure to the next machine on purpose, lord knows making the 360 with such garbage hardware didnt hurt them financially this gen.
Did anyone even bother to read it?
"ONE of the best-selling game consoles of all time: the Xbox 360."
This is probably in U.S. only, but I still think the PS2 and Wii has sold more units in the U.S. then the XBox 360 at this current time. This is definitely a false claim. The Wii has sold over 96 million units worldwide and the XBox 360 have sold over 67 million. The PS2 had sold just over 130 million I believe, while he DS has sold over 150 million units. In terms of game devices the DS wins hands down. In terms of game consoles the PS2 is still the leader. It doesn't look like the Wii will reach 130 million unless Nintendo continues to sell them and drops the price down to $99.Although Microsofts Zune player fizzled, the Surface looks to sizzle. And outside the Zune debacle, Microsoft does have some consumer-electronics wins, most noticeably with the best-selling game console of all time: the Xbox 360. Perhaps Microsoft will be the biggest surprise here and end up leading the pack when it comes to the Windows RT market.

It is a claim that wasn't even made in the article. OP is misquoting.
That's irrelevant as millions of people bought many different versions of the PS2 as well. I bought 3 PS2. An original, one with the ethernet adapter and a slim. How many people bought another PS3 when the PS3 Slim launched? lol!! Most gamers who had the RRoD problem sent them back to Microsoft to be fixed. I did that with mine and my son's and we both got back the same system fixed. I know this because I wrote the serial# down and it was the same when I got the system back. So don't open your mouth on things you know nothing about.Add the fact that ATLEAST half those sales were people buying there 3rd or 4th XBOX due to hardware failure. Yes, that's true. The article says "ONE of the best-selling game consoles of all time: the Xbox 360." It doesn't say that it's "THE best -selling". The OP obviously read it wrong.Although Microsofts Zune player fizzled, the Surface looks to sizzle. Misleading title, lol. I wondered if the TC was wrong or if the link was....Either the TC is misleading or the idiot journalist is just plain dumb and read one too many NPD reports/PR reports, lol.
It turns out the source wasn't foolhardy enough to write that upon my look (it could have been altered after the fact), but it seems the TC is just being misleading. I thought it strange considering the Wii's sales, the PSOne sales, or the juggernaut that was the PS2s sales haven't been touched by the 360 worldwide. In fact, the 360 and PS3 were neck and neck with a mere few million units between them. The Wii has a giant 30 millionish lead.
Assuming the Article writer dun goof'd, this is just another example of why companies spend money on PR. Look at the effect of PR even to supposedly professional journalists at Business Week!
Here's the actual quote from the source System Wars as of this time :
Microsoft does have some consumer-electronics wins, most noticeably with one of the best-selling game consolesof all time: the Xbox 360.
Here's what the TC misleading SW wrote (or Source Kevin Tofel writer cleverly covered up), taking out "One Of" and the letter "s" :
Microsoft does have some consumer-electronics wins, most noticeably with the best-selling game console of all time: the Xbox 360.

TC changed the text or the writer is dumb but the source is now different, LOLOLOLOL. Have fun trolling and arguing guys. :P
