It dosn't matter that the Wii can lower it's price to, the Wii will always be cheaper. It's just that once the PS3 comes down to the $450 $300 mark all that tech in it, and all that it offers is going to make people just eat it up.
The only thing holding the PS3 back is it's price, games are coming soon, but the price might not go down for a while.
I have always wanted a PS3, but the price is holding me back, as soon as it comes down a bit, im geting one, and the same gos for alot of people.
I just don't see the Wii wining this Gen, all it's really got going for it's self is it's price and the controller, that controller is like a black hole it just sucks you in, I don't even like any of the games and yet I wanted to try the Wii controller bad, and I almost bought one. But I know I just wouldn't like most of the games, the only thing that looks good to me is Zelda.

I don't believe PS3 price will come down to $300 this gen.
If it is true that the cost of making a PS3 is ~$800, than even a $100 price drop would be very damaging. Assuming a game gives $20 profit ($70 minus the cost of making it, retailer share, advertising, etc.), they would have to sell an average of 5 games per console just to be EVEN.
On the other hand, Nintendo can afford a $100 price drop (which won't happen anytime soon, either) and still profit from each Wii sold. And I don't know about X360, but from what I have heard, I believe they can afford a price drop, too.
Still, even if PS3 does accomplish a $100 price drop, by that time (a $100 price drop right now is unthinkable for Sony) Wii will have more than the controller and the price to lure people in. If this Wii buying spree continues (and even if it wanes), 3rd parties will - and already are - start to develop higher quality games for the Wii. Plus all the 1st party games that are already announced, and those that are still to announce.
The future is grim for Sony, but I do hope they pull it together, for the sake of the industry.
