So does that mean everybody who plays GTA, must possess inherent criminal traits to get enjoyment out of it? Obviously this Eric guy has never heard of fantasy escapism, the desire to get away from one's ordinary routine in an imaginery context only. I mean c'mon, everybody day dreams, and the fun a having a fantasy of a dangerous persona, is that it harms no one. That's normal and healthy.
[QUOTE="Senor_Kami"]LOL, you guys can't take a joke. This guy > your headezikiellI hope you are aware that was is considered a "joke" to one person is an offensive comment to another. If someone takes offense to someone they don't even know they have some issues themselves.
It was a joke. If you didn't like it so what. I'm sick of people getting worked up when one person says something they don't like. If you called me an A**hole I'd just shrug it off and say to myself you don't even know me.
On that note he has a point. Sandbox games are all about experimentation and what else are you gonna do with super deadly powers? Fight light posts?
I see. Well Eric, I hope no one gets your game so they aren't called ********s and you and your game go down in flames big time.
[QUOTE="JLF1"][QUOTE="skelebull3000"]hyperbole =/= sarcasm D:MakariI know that. Good, then relax. He said that COLLECTIVELY, we like to have the option to push the limits of an open-world sandbox. Give us superpowers, and we will ON AVERAGE succumb to curiosity and see what happens when the protagonist turns rogue. Crackdown accounts for it, GTA accounts for it, Saints Row accounts for it, Mercenaries accounts for it... hell, even Oblivion accounts for it. And yeah, the instant you shoot somebody in the leg in GTA4 just to see how they stumble with the shiny Euphoria physics, you've become that which he says. If you're an exception - congratulations, you're an exception. Look in this very forum for the backlash against Fallout 3 for not letting you kill children before the game came out. It's not so much specifically wanting to do only the bad things as it is wanting to know the freedom is there if the situation arises, and he's tongue-in-cheek calling us jerks for it. Thank God the cavalry finally arrived. I was trying to make this point last night but I was too tired/shocked to put it as succintly as this. I couldn't believe it when I saw 20 replies saying "I can't believe him! I am so insulted!" I thought I was in the twilight zone.
