[QUOTE="gotdangit"]You're right if I had rock band I would feel it would be a waste of money to get GH4. But since I do not I am going to get GH4.
Ask yourself this? If you didn't have RB, would you get GH4 or RB? Both are the same price.... I choose GH.
XTy
They arent the same PRICE, activisions greed allows them to charge more. Wrong about that one.
Anyways, What would I choose, if GH would become cheap as RockBand?
ROCKBAND
Because RB is made by the creators of GH, GHII, GHRock the 80's, Karoake Rev, and I want them to continue theie (Harmonix) vision.
Furthermore, RB has a TON of DLC out RIGHT now, and releases MUSIC EVERY WEEK. That is far more then we have seen from GHIII (The Tony Hawk Guys version) and we won't nearly see the same kind of support for the newwest GH either, because ACTIVISION likes to save some content for the NEXT GH.
GH has gone Annual, like MADDEN.
RB is a platform game, you get it, and your set. No need to worry about replacinig it.
If I didn' have RB, after doing research I would still buy RB. In your face Activision.
EA vs. Activision, who is worse?
That leaves me to go with NEVERSOFT vs. HARMONIX, and HARMONIX is the right choice, simply based on DLC alone.
What's so wrong in releasing a Guitar Hero game every year? Its not like Activision is asking you to buy a new guitar every time. You are getting songs at a commensurate price to dlc. GH4 will be dlc heavy, so that becomes moot.
Wht will you think if at E3, RB2 is revealed? What if they say the dlc for RB1 cannot be used with RB2. RB exists to make money.
EDIT: If GH4 is indeed $20 more than RB, it will be more than justified given the absolute crap quality of the RB instruments
Also dont forget that MTV is not going with dlc for the Wii even though Nintendo offered them the ability to do so. They are going to cash in with n"Track Pack" discs for the Wii along with the PS2.
