"SSBB graphics downgrade confirmed"....(56k)

Doesn't anyone remember? About 6 months ago when the first gameplay screens of SSBB came into circulation, almost everyone here on SW refused to believe the wii could handle the graphics shown in the screenshots.

All you heard, as soon as someone saw the screenshots, was "LOLOL TEH WII CANT HANDLE THAT LAWL DOWNGRADE CONFIRMED!1!!!!shiftelevenONE!1.

Now that there are dozens of gameplay vids out, with absolutely no downgrade and gorgeous visuals, I'm seeing threads that are bashing SSBB's graphics.

So first it was.."these graphics are too good, the real game is gonna look like Red Steel." and now...it's "Lol well it doesn't even look good of course it isn't downgraded :roll:"

There's just no winning here.

Well, except for everyone with a wii. All of THEM win. It's just that no one will recognize it...cept me.

The graphics in SSBB can't touch anything on the 360 or PS3, but they are very good for a Wii game.

I can't wait for SSBB! I have a copy reserved at Best Buy, so I'll just go and pick it up the day it comes out after school. :)

Well, the game doesn't really have that great of an artistic stile (spelled wrong for formatting reasons) either. :?

Also, we weren't talking gameplay. ;) Denied Ops does look bad, but it looks better than SSBB. However, SSBB's cartoony appearancy works for it while Denied Ops' realistic appearance makes it looks horrible.

I think there must be something wrong with many people's eyes. As an owner of all the consoles, having enjoyed graphics beasts from the 360 and PS3 (Gears, Assassin's Creed, Heavenly Sword, I could go on...all on a 47" HDTV) I think Brawl looks awesome. Not just for a Wii game, but overall. It's just even more impressive because it's done on the Wii's hardware. There's a lot of detail on those characters, and there's a lot of stuff going on on the screen, and as far as I've seen from the gameplay footage, it runs smooth as silk.EndlessGame

A.k.a. Galaga was the most hyper-realistic sci-fi games of all time.

P.S. Your post fails. Graphics are generally very important in terms of quality when it comes to games reflecting realistic events/settings/people. It doesn't matter as much for cartoony games, because it's not made to have realistic textures and physics and such.
