Do you whats funny? I probably couldn't tell the difference. Unless a game is midnumbingly boring, I don't notice the graphics AT ALL except for cutscenes. I'm too busy having fun with the game to notice the graphics.[QUOTE="Grodus5"][QUOTE="Kratos_OMEGA"]Play Call of duty 4 on a 50" HDTV then come back to me and tell me those look impressive.dewmandew7
A.k.a. Galaga was the most hyper-realistic sci-fi games of all time.
P.S. Your post fails. Graphics are generally very important in terms of quality when it comes to games reflecting realistic events/settings/people. It doesn't matter as much for cartoony games, because it's not made to have realistic textures and physics and such.
I'm not saying that graphics don't matter. I'm simply saying that I enjoy games enough not to care about them. I still play my N64, despite the "uber un1337 graphix" because its a blast to play.Edit: I mean, look at Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero 2 on the 360 could of easily been done on the Gamecube. Guitar Hero 3 maybe. The graphics in Guitar Hero games stink so bad its not funny, but the games are among the most fun games to play. The most fun I've had with a game since Melee came out.
The problem isn't the graphics. I'd rather play soul edge on the PS1 that has even worse graphics.
The problem is the laughable self-celebrative line-up of totally idiotic and childish (and overused) characters that Nintendo doesn't seem to be able to do away with... The funniest thing is that people praise then with Innovation... they didn't come out with a new franchise in centuries.
Pikachu and Kirby exchanging blows and screaming silly moans on my TV? I'd rather claw my own eyes and eardrums out than seeing and hearing that.
I remember "teh downgrade." Kind of funny really, compared to the responses in this thread now. Why did you guys ever care enough to start that in the first place?
Feh. Graphics. The true poo-slinging of SW.

The graphics in Guitar Hero aren't bad. :? Have you played the PS3/360 versions? There's definitely an upgrade from last gen.
Anyway, graphics are totally irrelevant in a game like Guitar Hero. However, in a first person shooter or role playing game (just to name a couple), the graphics do make environments more believable and realistic. Also, higher resolution screens allow you to spot details further away better than you could in standard definition.
I agree, in a game like Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Super Mario Galaxy, graphics aren't a huge deal.

"epic" isn't the word i'd use. It actually looks childish. Overwhelmingly childish.
Sorry alot of us arn't insecure to the point that we won't play a game because it looks "kiddy" or "cartoony", instead of it being fun or not..

Im sry u feel so self-conscious about playing one of the most fun multiplayer games every made.
It's called fanboyism :| It happens all the time... after KZ2 flops cows are going to play it off as if they never hyped it, and knew it was trash from the start.darkslider99
lol. fanboys bashing fanboys.
there has never been a gen that was about pretty visuals, and this gen is no different. That's why the wii is crushing its competition right now
Its the Wii....:|:lol:kool-aids
SSBB is teh Wii? What my world has been blown. I thought the Wii was a console... not SSBB...
The models and textures are good, well done, like I've seen on PS2, XBox and GC.
But the problem is those shots are up close, so the smoothness is visible.
In the actual game the characters will be smaller and the pretty detail will be lost due to the low resolution relative to PS3 or 360 games.

Its on the Wii, you cant expect PS3 caliber graphics on the Wii.

Cool thing is you don't have to. And the millions of Smash players don't care.
[QUOTE="Jynxzor"]When did anyone say anything like this recently?nintendofreak_2Indeed... this thread would have been better when the first videos came out.
It is a shame, we'd be better off with Dyack's universal console, as the Wiimote could be modulized, and then Nintendo could have the benefit of more powerful hardware. Of course, since Nintendo makes a profit on hardware sales, they'd be the most opposed to the creation of the "ideal console".

Yes indeed, take a fighting game, stock it with existing, well-known characters - it's not a new formula, but it still sells. Pokemon has been the same game, time and time again, since the mid-90s, and people will still be asking "where's the next Pokemon?" when the DS 2 comes out.
We all know that the Wii is the least technical powefull console so in all honesty its not fair to compare its graphical capabilities with other consoles...
I think that when utilised to its best it can produce really good looking games... Super Mario Galaxy is a very good example.. I personally think SSBB looks good and afterall its always been abount playability rather than graphics in the Brawl series

Sorry, but what? 1. Pikmin 2. Animal Crossing 3. Nintendogs (laugh all you want - it's the best selling stand-alone title in history) 4. Brain Age 5. Wii series (WiiSports, WiiPlay, WiiFit, etc.) Those are new Nintendo franchises released within the last few years. Educate yourself, please. The problem isn't the graphics. I'd rather play soul edge on the PS1 that has even worse graphics.

Honestly, it never looked very good graphically to me... Maybe for the Wii they're decent, but overall, nah.
I don't really care about the graphics in it though, Smash Bros has always been about great gameplay, hopefully Brawl delivers.
Super smash graphics are something very strange. Every gen, the graphics in SSB is a mix of technical profiency and style, and as a result, the visuals age very slowly. I think most of us agree that in motion, melee is a decent looking game. It's a combination of cartoony style, solid 60 fps and nice character models that keep these games relatively timeless.
People, if SSBB were to be made on the PS3 or 360, i would bet you, it wouldn't look much different. How much could it improve?

Yeah, pretty much everybody (self included) who's looking forward to Brawl is too mature to care....
[QUOTE="Sgt_Crow"][QUOTE="omgburgerking"]Brawl never had good graphics.
-D3MO-
Ofcourse it has.
It doesn't have 'suberb' graphics, but also no bad graphics (especially for a Wii game).
Are you really that blind or ignorant, or can't you just accept that graphics aren't technical only?
When did these people bash SSBB?
The Graphics are okay, nothing special, but it does give the Nintendo faithful all giddy to see better character models of their favorite personalities.
It doesn't mean that this is the best looking game graphically over the PS2,Xb, or GC generation though.
