Games TM is a UK base gaming magazine famous for pro-360 and anti-PS3 bias. They underate almost every ps3 only title. Metacritic also lowered game revolution score by 5 points. Game revolution gave R&C a B and metacritic scored that a 75/100 which is false, gamerankings gave the same score 80/100.

Interesting..That 75 score really being an 80 would probably boost the final metacritic score to 90%

anyone else notice how all 3 reviews that are sub-AA all have different reasons as to why they didn't like it. Personal opinion/bias much? GS with "Too many gameplay options" and then Game Revolution (who?) with "No online". I'm not going to rag on the scores any more, because even I am tired of trying to defend the game, it does fine on its own. Gamerankings is still 90%, and also, the game was hyped AA anyway.

But no scores matter, cause I have the game, and it's AMAZING! it's so fun! and the replay value.. upgrading your weapons, getting all the little extras, and finding secrets is well worth it. I think online would have possibly just felt "tacked on". So all's well. I enjoy the game, and that's what really matters to me :)

Unfortunately, everyone thought that because THEY liked the game, that everyone should. I am sure I would not like it that much, and think that GS's score is about right. It's just opinions.

In fact, you ask the question "Personal opinion/bias much?". In reality, a review is just that. It is not science or math. There is no "it has X, so add .5, it is missing Y, so subrtract 1.2" formula. A review is supposed to mention the facts, then give the writers views on why he enjoyed (or not) a particular product. His final analysis is what he feels, based on his personal opinion, the average gamer would think of the game. He may be slightly off of that analysis, but oh well. If you love it, great. I loved Shenmue 2, despite it's low score here.

Game on.

In the real world I've spoken to a couple of people who have played the game (and who I know are not blind cows)...both are of the opinion that the game deserves a B at best. Another guy thought the game was downright awful, but he does not like kiddy games. All these guys are hardcore gamers who prefer games such as Graw and CoD.

I've seen the game in action and I didn't think the graphics were out of of this world (good, but nothing special).

I truly believe that some reviewers gave the game, and Sony, a pity score. They added some points for effort, if you will...thankful that it wasn't another Lair. Lets say they scored it on a curve; since it is the best the PS3 has to offer (which is not saying much) it got a couple of extra brownie points. The GS review, however, graded it on it own merits.

This is just my opinion (and those of my friends and GS) since I have not played the game.

So, you are only Hardcore if you play shooters now? Why should anyone take their opinions seriously when they only play shooters?

A pitty score? Scored on a curve? That's some whishful thinking on your part.

How would you know what the game deserved when you haven't even played it?

WOW! People argue the "kiddy" angle of the game? And I thought SW couldn't get any worse...

I would also like to add that I have not met one child (under the age of 10) who wanted to play games aimed at their age groups. They all want to place racing games and FPS games.

Hell I remember the 90s when I was in elementary school. I don't remember one title in my library (aside from Crash and Spyro) that was E. In fact, Resident Evil was possibly the most popular game series between my friends. The whole "kiddy" game thing is complete crud and you have to be pretty low and desperate to hit that angle.

And the fact that you're bias against cows has nothing to do with it? Some reviews? You mean 28? You mean the majority of reviews gave it a pitty score and the couple random guys you asked are overall more accurate than those 28 sights? Sure keep telling yourself that...

the games utterly average so stop with these thread already. its not bad but average. I personally hope uncharted is fun cause else i'm really going to bug my brother about his ps3 purchase...lol he said to me eye of jufgment is the ost fun he's has on the system so far...thats sad....ut3 will save it thanks to not alot of ppl knowledgable about pc and pc gaming.

maybe cod4 and AC can do something for it, but since they are multi-platform i doubt it. most ppl who will buy a system for those games will buy the cheaper systems. i.e. 360 aracade pack for pro for around 320 bucks....they don't want to pay an extra 80 because a game is only 60....

A must have does not need to be AAA anywhere to be a "must have". Just because it's "AAA" (Ratchet and Clank barely scrapes by as an AAA title, with their score of 90.6% or so, and not even AA on Metacritic) does not mean it's a must have. my brother brought his ps3 this weekend when he had to come down for some work and he broght RnC with it. The only game other then eye judgment (which came with his ps3) for it. I played it for 2 hours and was wondering when something new would happen, if t was all auto-traget crap. The weapons are cool. But it gets sooo boreing when your not wacthing the CG cut scenes...not mention the graphics stunk!!!!! after i quit playing i told him he was an ifiot for buying a ps3 for this game and that he should have waited. Mate, I speak on behalf of everybody here who was raised playing Doom, Resident evil, and all those games. I personally don't understand how you can filter a child from all this stuff and suspect them to adjust to it normally when they are "of age". My little brother (who is 9) has seen me play all but two games (which happens to be Killer7 and Postal 2) and I see not one thing wrong with him. Heck, he has seen me play Soldier of Fortune 2 but he takes no reaction to it because he understands (even at the tender age of 9) that its just a videogame.

I am part of "generation X". We all have been cursing and telling inappropriate jokes since 2nd grade. It has come with the change of society but now as that for some strange reason media is trying to put a stricter hold on what is acceptable and isn't will send every newer generation into a confusion because once they hit your "recommended ages", they'll be overflown with so much of the grit we have all become disensitized to that they are ones most at risk of being affected by it.

Owning all 3 playstations led me to make an assumption, that's all. Take it for what it's worth.

I will spell this out for you, since you cannot seem to grasp this:

NOWHERE DID I SAY RATCHET AND CLANK IS NOT A GOOD GAME. WHAT I DID WAS QUESTION WHETHER IT'S NOT ONLY A MUST HAVE ON THE PS3 BUT IF IT WOULD BE A MUST HAVE ON THE 360 AS WELL. A GOOD GAME DOES NOT EQUAL A MUST HAVE.

For example, my favorite PS2 games were: Kingdom Hearts, Zone of the Enders 2, Shadow of the Colossus, and Resident Evil 5. While Kingdom Hearts, Zone of Enders, and Shadow of the Colossus I would not say are must haves, I would say they are very good games; some of my favorites ever in fact. I would say Resident Evil 5 is a must have.

And an example of a game not being a must have on two systems:

When Resistence was released at launch for the PS3, it was a must have. Yet, if it also released on the XBOX 360 at the same time (which just got Gears of War), it would not be considered a must have on the 360 -- yet still a must have on the PS3. Halo 3 is considered a must have for the 360, and yet when it comes out for the PC, or even if it were out now, it would not be considered a must have (but we're talking different release dates now).

Nowhere did I say Ratchet and Clank is not a good game. If anything, I said the Playstation 3 does not have a good library, but I didn't say that either. What I was saying was, the PS3's library is substantially weaker than the current XBOX 360 library (current library to current library), so Ratchet and Clank being the king of PS3 games doesn't mean it's the king of XBOX 360 games as well.

Your comparison fails, because you use launch games. At launch almost anything goes regardless of what system ( PDO ). You can't compare Gears ( year later ) to Resistance.

Now Ratchet & Clank I would argue will be a must have regardless of what system at this point.

I feel like you're forgetting/didn't get what my original question was:

I was merely asked if it's a must have on the 360 as well as the PS3. I was not asking if it's a good quality gaming experience and/or would/wouldn't be appreciated on any console, I was asking if it would really be a 360 must have. Saying Ratchet and Clank is a great game and saying it's a must have on the 360 is not the same thing. In order to judge if it's a must have on the 360, you need to have played through the 360's best titles.

Because, quite frankly, some 360 owners have been having to buy a new game every month due to the current release-gasm its having. The PS3, on the other hand, has Warhawk and Heavenly Sword. But I digress: just let this side discussion die.

What I do want is for |-_-| or w/e to respond. He/she makes a stupid statement and then ceases to reply. I really want to know what makes me so clueless and why Ratchet and Clank is too mature for your kids.
