side by side comparison of the 360 and PS3 version... Sony Fans, don't be expecting an AAA

This topic is locked from further discussion.
I watched that video 4 times in a row and the only thing I can say that is different about the PS3 version is that it is a little bit darker (not by much) and there is somewhat of a motion blur issue. Otherwise the games look pretty much identicle.
Also IGN noted that the game runs better at 720p then it does at 1080i, which is what caused the blur that I mentioned.
Looks like Ubi is real bias with the 360aaron6581230
Yeah, but it makes sense. They make a game for the PC or the 360 and it doesn't take much to port it to the other. Not so for the PS3, or even the PS2. Thus, Ubi has always made junk for the Playstation. I blame them for being greedy. I blame consumers for giving them the justification to do this.
DON"T BUY CRAP!!!
360 barely made AAA and it's a Ubisoft port so I'm expecting a low AA. But the gameplay videos still look cool but since I don't have a 360 anymore (broke down), I might get this on PS3.side by side comparison of the 360 and PS3 version... Sony Fans, don't be expecting an AAA

If you like video game... you should care. R6: Vegas is an amazing game.... at least on the 360 it is. We'll have to see how the PS3 version comes out.
I actually feel bad for gamers that waited so long for the PS3 with such faith. No incredible first party games yet, crappy ports of amazing games, wating for ports while everyone else has played the games months ago.... and you still don't even have rumble. Man did Sony screw it's fanbase.

As long as the graphics are almost as good as 360 and the gameplay rocks (which it looks like) then I'll get it.Ubisoft are a bunch of lazy, half-a$$ it devs so far when it comes to the PS3, and even the Wii. Why can't they take a clue from a dev like Starbreeze who went the extra mile by developing 'The Darkness' separately from the ground up, tailored to each system? They actually went the extra mile and made a version for the PS3 centered around it's hardware, and also made a version for the 360 that is centered around it's hardware. And they worked on them both at the SAME TIME.
Now THAT is a good developer who actually cares about what they are releasing folks. Expect The Darkness to be killer on both consoles.;)

Suprise. Suprise. A game comparison of PS3 and 360 from that site where the PS3 version is darker. These guys need to fix that. The PS3 outputs darker than the 360, especially if they are using HDMI in my experience. You have to do a better job calibrating the display or capture device for each console.
ouch!!! that hurts for the 360, the ps3 version does look better. dang, i knew i should of bought a ps3 instead....LeDavester
Instead? right.
Funny how gamespot says it has some framerate issue and IGN says it looks bad in 1080i + tones down bloom effects. But we all know how that means better.

After all those delays they still gave us an inferior port. Not giving Ubisoft my money for this game.

I dont mind myself since I am still saving my coin for a PS3 and praying for a price drop in November before I pick one up. If that does not happen, I might consider getting a 360 with the 65nm die processor and video card, which I hope fixes the red lights of death flaw, assuming Microsoft actually releases the 65nm version.

Isn't the 360 version native 720p though? If it is, I would imagine that running it on the PS3 at 720p will be fine and would make it look pretty much the same.

720p looks fine. But compared at 1080i 360 destroys it. They just killed the market for every HD crt owner with a ps3. I don't see it too be much anyway though

I would say you can't go wrong with the 360... as long as you get the store warranty with it. It really is one of the best consoles in video game history... except for the failure rate and being mildly noisy. The 18 month game collection, interface, online, controller, etc. is all outstanding. And many of the best exclusive games are coming out this fall. (Mass Effect, Halo 3, etc.)
Though I have the cash to pick up a PS3... I just can't see any reason to get one yet. Like I said above, most multiplats are inferior and you have to wait for them. The 360 game collection (Good to Superb games) is three times the size. I am not putting down the PS3... but it's just not going to have a worthy game collection till 2008. Many of the best games on the 360 came out first on the 360 or are better on the 360, and often both.
My suggestion would be to get a 360 sooner, and then start saving up for the PS3 and buy it in it's prime [2008]. You can use that extra $200 for a year of live and 3 or 4 games. Or 10-20 arcade games out of the 70 or so avbailable.

360's bloom effects just make the game irrealistic to me(played it on my friends 360, don't believe me? add micreaper911) i think the toned down bloom effects for the ps3 are just perfect.

Would you say 1080i is better? on the other hand, IGN claimed that 720p looked better than 1080i(for ps3), maybe they just didn't work on all resolutions.
In my opinion on the 360 it did. But resolutions between different games comparing 720p and 1080i differ. You find a lot of people likeing one or the other.
1080i on 360 isn't blurred or anything .liek that at all. Just a screw up by ubi
to tell you the truth, I honestly like that blurry look, it's pretty, it compliments clothing and some wall textures.
I'm not too fond of the whole blur used in this gen. accidental or not. THat's just my personal preferences though
[QUOTE="killab2oo5"]PS3 version isnt as sharp,is less detailed...and like all other ports, has a contrast problem.I dont think Ubisoft really trys anyways, but the PS3 version also gets the new DLC content on live for free.

Let's wait for a 1080i/720p 360-ps3 comparison by professional comparers then.
So you want to compare different resolutions then?
Well then lets compare 360 at 720p and ps3 at 480i.

Like I said, by professional comparers(gametrailers or IGN), not some user who is signed up at gametrailers.
