[QUOTE="themyth01"] Is anyone surprised? retrib
I'm surprised they did a good job on this port, the thread creator, apparantly, was a troll.
Secondeded...ededed?
Ubisoft are a bunch of lazy, half-a$$ it devs so far when it comes to the PS3, and even the Wii. Why can't they take a clue from a dev like Starbreeze who went the extra mile by developing 'The Darkness' separately from the ground up, tailored to each system? They actually went the extra mile and made a version for the PS3 centered around it's hardware, and also made a version for the 360 that is centered around it's hardware. And they worked on them both at the SAME TIME.
Now THAT is a good developer who actually cares about what they are releasing folks. Expect The Darkness to be killer on both consoles.;)

or maybe because there is no motivation to take a lot of time and money to make a game for a console with a limited user base.
i think it's still the same game. it's just very had to port from 360 to PS3.. it's a complicated machine....
if you have aPS3, buy it. it's on of the best games you'll play

Otherwise the games look pretty much identicle.
Also IGN noted that the game runs better at 720p then it does at 1080i, which is what caused the blur that I mentioned.

Suprise. Suprise. A game comparison of PS3 and 360 from that site where the PS3 version is darker. These guys need to fix that. The PS3 outputs darker than the 360, especially if they are using HDMI in my experience. You have to do a better job calibrating the display or capture device for each console.
No thats just how it looks running in 1080i. IGN confirmed it was bad, very very blurry in 1080i...
Isn't the 360 version native 720p though? If it is, I would imagine that running it on the PS3 at 720p will be fine and would make it look pretty much the same.
720p looks fine. But compared at 1080i 360 destroys it. They just killed the market for every HD crt owner with a ps3. I don't see it too be much anyway though
360 R6V has 1080i?!?!
Seeing how I played it 100% of the time in 1080i, I don't see how it couldn't? o.O
I tried it on 1080i and it didn't work, that means my TV doesn't support 1080i :( sadfsadfsdaf. anyways, let's compare the720p versions?
720p is just as comparable as 1080i. You can't cut out an entire consumer base because it doesn't fit with what you want to prove though. 720p looks very nice I must say though
Would you say 1080i is better? on the other hand, IGN claimed that 720p looked better than 1080i(for ps3), maybe they just didn't work on all resolutions.
In my opinion on the 360 it did. But resolutions between different games comparing 720p and 1080i differ. You find a lot of people likeing one or the other.
1080i on 360 isn't blurred or anything .liek that at all. Just a screw up by ubi
People also need to remember that the 360 has its memory at a unified 512 MB's, whereas the PS3 has two individual memory options for both the system and video card of 256, so I think that could also cause some performance issues with 1080i on the PS3.
[QUOTE="DSgamer64"][QUOTE="Mystikef"][QUOTE="Lazy_Boy88"]Well I was expecting it and I and probably most all other cows don't care at all..... so let the hundreds of pointless stupid "ownage" topics begin.Mystikef
If you like video game... you should care. R6: Vegas is an amazing game.... at least on the 360 it is. We'll have to see how the PS3 version comes out.
I actually feel bad for gamers that waited so long for the PS3 with such faith. No incredible first party games yet, crappy ports of amazing games, wating for ports while everyone else has played the games months ago.... and you still don't even have rumble. Man did Sony screw it's fanbase.
I dont mind myself since I am still saving my coin for a PS3 and praying for a price drop in November before I pick one up. If that does not happen, I might consider getting a 360 with the 65nm die processor and video card, which I hope fixes the red lights of death flaw, assuming Microsoft actually releases the 65nm version.
I would say you can't go wrong with the 360... as long as you get the store warranty with it. It really is one of the best consoles in video game history... except for the failure rate and being mildly noisy. The 18 month game collection, interface, online, controller, etc. is all outstanding. And many of the best exclusive games are coming out this fall. (Mass Effect, Halo 3, etc.)
Though I have the cash to pick up a PS3... I just can't see any reason to get one yet. Like I said above, most multiplats are inferior and you have to wait for them. The 360 game collection (Good to Superb games) is three times the size. I am not putting down the PS3... but it's just not going to have a worthy game collection till 2008. Many of the best games on the 360 came out first on the 360 or are better on the 360, and often both.
My suggestion would be to get a 360 sooner, and then start saving up for the PS3 and buy it in it's prime [2008]. You can use that extra $200 for a year of live and 3 or 4 games. Or 10-20 arcade games out of the 70 or so avbailable.
I think I am going to wait. Mainly because I am against paying for online gaming, especially when its P2P, and the PS3 comes with wireless built in (I have a wireless LAN in my house so I cant network a console without it) and the 360 is pretty noisey, especially since a console is going to be in my bedroom and if I am playing at night, I dont want it to be too noisey. A lot of the games on the PS3 and 360 that I am interested in are multiplatform games, Oblivion, R6: Vega, The Darkness, Guitar Hero and GTA4, plus there are some more exclusives (or timed exclusives at least) like Haze, MGS4, FF13 and White Knight Story that interest me more then the 360 line up at this frame in time.
I want Unreal Tournament 3 but I will probably get it for PC.

ROFL! okay mister developer.
[QUOTE="imprezawrx500"]a 6 month old game. who cares?RickGotti
You should, because for that's all you're going to get for a loooooong time
Actually imprezawr is a hardcore (and annoyingly so) Hermit. It doesn't seem it at times though, as he has some rabid hatred against the 360...
ouch!!! that hurts for the 360, the ps3 version does look better. dang, i knew i should of bought a ps3 instead....LeDavester
damn! i was thinking exactly the same thing! why not go out and buy a ps3 instead to get a port of an old 360 game...i mean it makes sense in my mind

Exactly, this is myanswer for around 90% of the threads in SW. Get the extended warrenty on the 360 and play it until there are more reasons to get a PS3.Please Log In to post.
