Its like a floaty, shameless Smahs Ripoff. It doesnt look like bad game but.... really Sony?
Anyway if the Vita version has online play Ill be getting it.finalstar2007
Vita version will have online and if u get one you'll get the other forfree so dosent matter which version you chose you'll still get both unless Sony tells you that you buy PS3 and get Vita free or buy Vita version without getting PS3 version for free so watch out for that.
Pretty sure it's only buy Ps3 get Vita one for free. It wouldn't make sense to buy a 40$ game and get a 60$ for free compared to the other way around.Actually after watching the video, he looks really fluid and his combo's seem to work alot better then others. Intresting.:o
[QUOTE="Miroku32"]Shame. Since Sony lacks interesting first party characters they must rely on third parties for try to make a turd of a game succeed. _Cadbury_How do you people manage to cook up crap like this in your brains? Seriously... I agree with him. The game looks childish. If you want to play Raiden just play MGS HD collection.

They have alot of great choices ( 1st and 3rd party that are synonymous with Playstation ) but I don't know why they didn't choose them yet.
3rd party characters.
1st party characters.
Meh the kill system just feels like a a power struggle where Im going to lock in the character that has the best Level 1,2,3 moves to gain as many points as I can, SMB doesn't at least in IMO require ALOT of skill but Battle Royal looks way worse. Can't just play a character I really like if their essentially *gimped* by perhaps horrible Killmoves.

Again everybody is naming characters THEY feel should be in it not what the general public WILL like. thats the problem with sony 1st party they dont hold enough weight.
they could have the most characters in the world if only a few people know who the hell they are it wont sell and at the end of the day, behind the SW's metagame sales are the most important to a company.

Quite unimpressed by Raiden myself. Can't see this game getting any higher then an 8.5 since SSB and other fighters does what it does better.
I thought he would look different. Not what I was expecting.

We got it, you're funny, blah blah blah... move on.
[QUOTE="deu5ka175"]Oh hello? There're like 10 1st party characters in there. Oh wow. I stand corrected. And there is only 4 guest fighters....Much better than SSBB where there were 2 guest fighters and like 40 Nintendo fighters. You are right. Sony is getting it done.Even though the game looks terrible I do not understand why Sony does not use actual Sony characters. I or 2 guest characters is fine but come on.....

And how many of those 40 characters are secondary in their series???
PS is all about the stars, not the lame-os;)

As far as 3rd party characters goes they are iconic characters that always represented/synonymous with Playstation and everybody knows them even more than Sony's 1st party characters, excluding characters like Cloud, Alucard, Lara Croft from the roster is really mind boggling cuz they are as much Playstation stars as the other characters and even more in some cases ( Raiden and Big Daddy for example ).
As for the 1st party roster, Shadow Of the Colossus is popular and people recognize the characters, same goes for Dark Cloud, same goes for Suikoden 2 ( 3rd party but it was exclusive to PS1 ), Wild Arms is fairly popular too and Legend of Dragoon is a cult classic so that too has fans.
My point is the game shouldn't always go with the already known characters, there should always be a mix between known and obscure , I don't care what the general public's opinions are nor the developer did, if any devs in-general goes after what the general public want then we would get a vastly different vision of games most of the times.
look at games like the Capcom crossovers, they put unknown/barely known characters from both capcom and Marvel, SNK or whatever collaboration they got, people will get to know them and maybe get attached to these characters more than what they thought and maybe just maybe that character would get his own game ( Deadpool anyone ? ).
Look at SSBB, there are unknown 1st party characters in the roster too! look how including Kid Icarus made Nintendo take another chance for that IP.
So in a matter of fact putting obscure characters that are unknown these days but were popular in the PS1/PS2 era makes the game more varied and more dedicated to the fans of Playstation than anything else, plus making their old IPs exposed to the public again for a potential new game is win win.
not my problem if Im old enough to know these characters .
This is starting to catch my eye. Does anyone know how the actual gameplay compares to Super Smash Bros? I mean, someone that has played this (like, a demo at a convention or something) or a link to someone who has. Does it have the SSBB floaty feel or the superior Melee zippy feel? Is it responsive? Weight behind attacks? How's the soundtrack shaping up?
I'm dissapointed that they're limiting the roster to one character per franchise (that is what they're doing, right?). Sort of removes those match ups between rivals in certain franchises - limiting the fan service in a game all about fan service. Ah well..
Anyway, I have Dante at least. I'm liking the new Dante more and more every day and this should do well in advertising the upcoming DmC game. Who knows, maybe he might end up being worthy of the Dante/DMC name/game? I'd like to see:
That's all I can really think of. Worried about the soundtrack though.
I don't understand the hate this game is getting to be honest. Yeah, it's a blatant SSB ripoff. But given how awesome SSB is, I'd say that's a good thing.
[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="charizard1605"]Eh. I'll be getting this game, but the character roster gets more disappointing by the day. Where I expected a celebration of Playstation, of Sony's own characters and franchises, we're getting some B tier third party characters, some of which don't even make sense in context. It's like no one understands what makes Smash Bros. so successful in the first place.charizard1605Sony doesn't have the characters to do what Nintendo does with SSB. That should be blatantly obvious by now. Sssssh, don't let the horde of angry cows hear you. Don't you know, Sony characters are as recognizable as Nintendo characters, if not more, and this game will be the death of SSB.
Oh come on besides Ispeak Dev, and..idk Shadow ? not many cows are VERY hyped for this.
[QUOTE="finalstar2007"]what about black ops 3 which will come out the year after next year? Thats day 1 for me. Didn't he buy tales of graces F day one :lol:I played this game at the gaming convention in Canada last week and i got to say i was impressed.. going to keep a close eye on it but will not be a day 1 pruhase.. BO2 the only game i'll buy full purchase this year :P

Meh.. The more I see this game, the more I want to pass on it. :( I like the inclusion of Raiden, However he's not exclusive and he's not different.. I guess.
Why no Jehuty Sony?
Then again.. I guess he wouldn't be exclusive either.. :P

I played a few rounds of it at Evo, so I'll try to dig through my memory banks to give you my impressions. This is starting to catch my eye. - Cloud or Lightning - I'd imagine Square Enix would prefer to allow them to use Lightning to advertise the FFXIII - 3 game (that's announced, right? I've stopped caring, but I like Lightnings character). I'd say Cloud would be more appropriate for a Sony game though.
- Nariko - She's cool. I'd say she'll be in for sure - I heard she was leaked already.
- Wander or Ico.
- Sora? Maybe Daffy + Goofy (Like Jak and Daxter)
- Kat from Gravity Rush. Never played it but it's exclusive and I think the game needs more heroines - Her character design seems cool and I imagine she'd have some unique abilities.
That's all I can really think of. Worried about the soundtrack though.
Twin-Blade
The game definitely feels like SSB, however I didn't feel like it would have the appeal of SSB. The game only has 3 attack buttons and the attacks change with a simple holding up or down on the stick. The attacks just didn't feel like they flowed very well and I was just mashing out what attacks I knew. This lead me to find out that you can't actually kill your opponent unless you use supers, which I really didn't like causing you to choose to use level 1's or 2's and hope they get you some kills or just stockpile up to level 3 and go wild. The game also felt much more floaty then SSBB. So, all I can is that the game was fun, but I don't see it having the appeal of SSB or at least the lasting appeal of SSB.
Apologies if it's not the best explanation of my impressions, but I've told you what I could and take it for it's worth. Also, I couldn't comment on the soundtrack since I played it at Evo and it was loud and I wasn't paying much attention to it.
