what? No cover system? The game went from anticipated to not giving a ****. What will it be then? Another twitchy FPS game like Call of Duty but with some crappy destruction and no regen health? Meh.

You must not remember the days when "taking cover" meant ducking behind a box. Not pushing a button to stick to a chest-high-wall.

I'm personally looking forward to this. Tactical co-op shooters are few and far between.

A tactical shooter with no cover system? It must have leaning then right? Shouldn't only arcadey shooter like Serious Sam not have cover systems?

No game should have cover system. NONE.

tactical shooter should have lean. arcadey shooter should be fast paced.

Why should no games have a cover system?

Why is lean ok and cover system bad?

The game looks promising but I really don't expect any random internet turds to play tactically. Also, I fail to see how the lack of a cover system is tactical. Law enforcement (especially SWAT/SRT) are trained to use cover to, you know, not get shot. There should be some sort of cover mechanic or lean mechanic.

Agreed, strafing in and out of cover is unrealistic.

@cfisher2833: "I'll get hyped when I see some single player with open levels, slower gameplay, and a team that I can issue numerous, complex orders to. Until then, I won't believe for a second that Ubisoft is investing millions of dollars into the development of what's now considered a fairly niche genre (tactical FPSs). "

While I agree, its insane in the realm of business to invest 'millions' in niche.

Finally first Rainbow Six game that it based on tactic, not just cover and shoot.

Is that a joke?

I don't think the game looks that great, i didn't get the feeling like the team were playing effectively together.

This is exactly what I saw. This game isn't exactly looking good.

Which is why I don't expect this game to anywhere near as good as games like Swat 4 or Ravenshield. The movement is already way too fast, and resembles CoD/BF movement far more than it does the old tactical FPSs. That kind of fast movement also makes leaning borderline useless, as we can see in the video, where almost no one bothers to lean when entering a room. There also doesn't seem to be any significant aim penalty when you're coming out of a sprint; in games like Swat 4, you had to be standing still in order to not incur any aim penalty. Altogether, this just reminds me far more of close-quarters Battlefield game than it does a Rainbow Six game. It's too fast paced.
