If it's a good mp why does it need a single player mode?

It astounds me that the plebs, the frauds, the dimwits can act like it's totally cool if a game is single player only, but a game goes mp only and then there is every fucking excuse in the book. I don't enjoy tacked on mp, but I also don't care for single player games that barely have any effort put into them. Titanfall was a good game without one, and the whole "well it died in a few months"...a single player wouldn't have fixed that. Likewise Halo 4 had a single player that was in line with the rest of the Halo games, that game died, and guess why?

Evolve's issues were entirely DLC, and Battlefront was always a multiplayer game. The thing people call campaigns in those old games weren't fucking campaigns to begin with.

If you've ever felt that it's totally fine that games go SP, and that they shouldn't tack on MP because it cuts into SP resources, don't be a hypocrite now and get asshurt over a game being mp only. You should at least on some level respect that a dev knew what their true bread winner was, and rolled with that instead. That said, this game will probably blow chunks.

But I don't want to be social

I'm sorry, but is this guy new to betas? Or video games in general? I've been playing the beta all weekend just fine without any freezes or disconnections. This dude shouldn't bitch about this on youtube, but rather send some *constructive* feedback to the dev team. "I'm OUTRAGED because this unfinished video game that I get to test for free is not working properly! I'm an entitled, fakely upset youtube gamer! hurr durr". Thumbs down.

And also: this game really does not need a single player mode. It just doesn't. If it did, I wouldn't even play it. I've been waiting on this sort of MP game for a long time, and so far it turned out great. Can't wait for the final product.

but...but i want to play multiplayer games with horrible bot AI because im scared to play against real people!

My favorite are the so called "hardcore" gamers who hate the dude bros or whatever

"I'm a hardcore gamer, that's why I don't like dude bros who don't appreciate the finer things in games"

brb the dude bro is playing a game that is literally personal skill vs personal skill

brb said hardcore gamers is playing a game that isn't skill based or requires any thought, but a copious amount of interactive labor for some shitty anime story, but it's hardcore because it's a RPG

In most cases I won't buy a game that's completely worthless a year later. You can throw a multiplayer only game into the trash when the community dies. A single player game I can play again 10 years later. Hard to understand, I know.

Not saying it's OK for them to sell 5-15 hour $60 single player games either.

I don't have a problem with the game being online only. I just have a...discomfort, with companies selling us a multiplayer mode ONLY game for $60...Plus. Sad thing is...People these days don't care. They will buy those online only, or 5 hour, $60 games. That's why companies keep doing it.

Honestly, with a game like this, I think it makes sense for there to be no SP campaign. It seems like there will be a lot of small decisions to make that can have huge effects on the outcome of a match, and I have a feeling that the campaign would be linear and heavily scripted anyway, so I don't have a problem with this. I mean, I'm not getting the game, but you get my point.

I think the problem isn't the lack of the campaign, but the fact (at least on PC) that they are going to be competing directly against games like Insurgency and CS:GO which are 20 bucks with free content updates.

In Canada, R6: Siege is 80 bucks...

I don't think it matters how good this game is. At least on PC, it will sell like shit and fizzle after a month. There are simply too many alternative games that cost way less.

Single player shooter campaigns are becoming a thing of the past. I personally don't play them in competitive multiplayer games like cod, bf, etc. Games like Halo have been making the campaigns with coop in mind which works great for me. Even Black Ops 3 has shifted its campaign to a coop story and it doesn't bother me at all, in fact, it'll probably be the 1st campaign I finish for CoD since CoD4.

I do think the game should sell for $30-$40 with no SP campaign.

If I want to play a single player game, I'll play a good rpg, where the story is fleshed out and not just tacked on. Even they are trending towards the MMO route though.

Face it, we live in an online gaming society now. Since online gaming grew in size, so did the gaming community, so I'd say online is what most people want.
