GT5 is the best looking game of this E3, according to Gamespot.Wassmansdorff
Unfortunately Gamespot is not god so they are wrong.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Videos aren't really an accurate representation of a game's visuals. If you look up a comparison between some PC games at high and low settings, you'll hardly be able to tell the difference and the game at low settings may look better on occasion.im too lazy to post gamersyde videos or gifs, this woman is clearly in denial

It's not that they're wrong, but that it's just an opinion (and one that I share, to a degree). What I'm getting at is that even though GT5 is a pretty game, other games surpass it in various areas to the point where it can be argued that they are better looking games.[QUOTE="Hakkai007"][QUOTE="Wassmansdorff"]GT5 is the best looking game of this E3, according to Gamespot.ArtisTool

They aren't incompetent retards either, they may not be perfect but they are WAAAY more credible then random forum posters... This thread is laughable, lemmings claiming one of the best looking console games ever made has mediocre graphics... Oh my...Keyword "console".
Also it was a PC gamer who start the thread thinking that maybe he/she would take a consolites word that GT5 looked awesome.
But compared to PC gaming that is completely wrong.
[QUOTE="drspudz"][QUOTE="J-WOW"] /threadwindsquid9000What is that gonna get you? Forza 3 isn't even the best looking racer on the 360. I'd have to say Codemasters' racers and maybe NFS: Shift beat it.
To bad nobody else in the entire gaming media would agree with you , and im curious how did you play this demo ? You just happned to be at E3 and your writing about it now?

They have the demo being playable at certain stores like Bestbuy.
I have one near me.
And yes PC Dirt 2 and F1 2010 have better graphics.

If a random scientist were to say the sky was lime green, would you believe him even though you can clearly see before your eyes that it's blue? The gaming media says it's a pretty game, and I agree. But that doesn't change that GT5 has 2D trees. That doesn't change that GT5's textures are a little below average, that doesn't change that the vehicle reflections are of a very low resolution. That doesn't change that buildings and landmarks are lacking in polygons, texture detail, and normal mapping. No matter what the gaming press says, these observable facts will not change. I saw the demo running on an HD display DIRECTLY from the PS3 (as opposed to a compressed video) and this is what I saw.[QUOTE="TheSterls"][QUOTE="windsquid9000"] I'd have to say Codemasters' racers and maybe NFS: Shift beat it.windsquid9000

No matter how many haters and skeptics there are for this game plenty others will still enjoy this when it finally comes out. Right now people just want find a reason to **** and moan about anything. Chill out folks. I don't get why a racing game (or any game for that matter) is used as flamebait. Fanboys aren't proving anything with this.
If you're trying to imply that F1 2010 has nearly enough as detail as GT 5. And I have been playing F1 2010 for the past 2 hours...on PC. 1920x1080 (ALL HIGH) 2xAA :|[QUOTE="killa4lyfe"][QUOTE="Hakkai007"]

Yes and F1 2010 has better graphics on PC of course.
Anyone who thinks differently is in denial.
And it seems you are not playing it on max.
Played it on max. Still don't see the massive detail in comparison to the videos I have seen for GT5. Maybe I'll wait till GT 5 actually comes out before I make the final decision of what game looks better, has more details and what not but at the moment, I am leaning towards GT 5. Not really suprised since looks have never been Code masters' forte. I always believed their game play, presentation, and really nice damage system was the best thing about their past 3 games (Grid, Dirt., Dirt 2) and it seems the same for F1 2010.If a random scientist were to say the sky was lime green, would you believe him even though you can clearly see before your eyes that it's blue? It looks amazing for a console game, but there's still an IQ gap between the footage and the bullshot.
While even in the video, there are a few noticeable flaws, but I'm not going to comment on anything that I haven't seen with my own eyes straight from a PS3. That aside, videos are not an accurate representation of a game's visuals as compression and the video's size can obscure things. The sad thing is...that it's not a bullshot, the game actually looks that good.

If GT5 graphics look mediocre to some of you then you ought to quit gaming for 10 years until your standards are caught. I would be fine if the game looked exactly like GT5P, that game looked pretty awesome and there was never a single framerate issue even with 16 cars, I know they will improve in GT5, for someone to talk crap about GT5 is nonsense the game isnt even out, and if you check out some videos from Madrid or London, it looks almost photorealisic, and yes I do game on PC also.

1. I've said in to OP and countless times throughout the thread that GT5 is a good looking game. The quality of the elements is what are lacking, not the visuals overall. 2. Hardly nitpicking. And you say "unfinished" as if there would be a noteworthy change to the visuals by the time of release 1 month from now. GT5 has excellent visual styling and pays great attention to detail, but the level of detail just isn't as good as other games (for the most part).[QUOTE="windsquid9000"]

I don't even know where you got this picture from, no sources, no nothing. :?
P.S. I love how you like comparing a game running on this/last years hardware to a game that has hardware from 5 years ago and still can pull its own weight.
I think all people should stop posting in this thread as obviously the TC and Hakkai are a couple of trolls out for a good laugh. They are trying to downgrade a superb game while calling other mediocre racers such as F1 and Dirt 2 more superb looking.
It is an obvious troll thread and those who are being baited into it as I was are silly for responding to such people. Please let the thread die and stop posting, if anything perhaps Hakkai and Squid can then have a long conversation about how much they love games that aren't even out yet all the while bashing a game they haven't even played.
Also I just confirmed from a Best Buy that is on that supposed "list" that there is NO GT5 set up going on right now. So the TC hasn't played the game, and those that believe him are more than likely lemmings that want to believe his words, or people whom are very naive.

Let's try this:
Watch this video. Look at the guard rails. A curvy line with grooves painted on
Boot up GT5P (on your own PS3, not a video). Switch to the hood view. You'll be greeted with pixellated and undefined reflections
For trees, look at a GT5 screenshot and do your best to imagine the trees with slightly lower fidelity and jaggies
For shaders, look at the showroom cars in GT5P (on your PS3, not a video) Look for a slight "smudginess" to the surface. The shaders are by no means bad, they're just a little off and other games have exponentially higher quality shaders.
For buildings and landmarks, GT5P might do, but I'm not sure.
That's the best I can do short of renting a bus, driving around the country, and ferrying all of the skeptics to a participating Best Buy. It's kinda hard to post sources when you're referring to your own experiences, not someone else's.
