Rare has created 2 new IPs this generation, released 5 quality console titles and are in charge of Microsoft's Avatars. I'm curious what you and people like you expect from a single developer.
Insomniac gets all the praise in the world for juggling Resistance and Ratchet at the same (3 releases and 1 downloadable chapter) but for some reason Rare doesn't get nearly the same treatment.SAGE_OF_FIRE
The difference is that Resistance and Ratchet and Clank are very good and the microsoft avatars, viva pinata, perfect dark zero, nuts and bolts, etc.range form o.k. (viva pinata) to abominations (avatars).
Avatars aren't a game :| and Rare has created better games this gen then InsomniacNot according to GS or the avg. of game critics all of Insomniacs titles save for QfB (which is a downloadable title) have outscored and outsold all of Rare's games.
It sounds like Rare is dead one because all of their titles this gen have been solid titles that got good scores. But on the platform they are on its just terrible the numbers they are putting up. I think they would've done ten times more on Ninty's console. And the Wii's catalog would be better.

People need to realize Rare isn't the same developer it was back in the N64 days.
Many key personnel have left since then. They are no longer a top quality developer. You guys need to understand this because people are getting thier hopes up that Rare are going to come out with something awesome and they'll just be disappointed.
Tell me when was the last time they made a great, and I mean great game?
WasntAvailable
Viva Pinata. Not only great, but highly original.
Banjo Kazoie: Nuts and Bolts is also not only great, but highly original, and it's because it is original that people hate on it.
You're right, Rare arn't the same developer they were. Now they don't just take something that works and make ten diffrent series out of it, this generation wont allow that, now they have innovation.
Look, we were waiting Eight Years for the Sequel to Banjo-Tooie. What we got was a Vehicle Game with Banjo-Kazooie Slapped-In to help it sell. Now you see why the hate is justified. From what I've seen, for the most part Rare has been making decent games that are not selling up to expectations. Why are they not selling? Because they are not the type of games that most people associate with the 360. Face it, the image and demographic of the 360 is the "hardcore mature gamer", your average high school, college, mid-twenties guy that loves playing online with his friends. How well do you think games where you play as a bear, a fairy or cute pinatas are going to do that demographic?

Lol, I love how you say the image and demographic of the 360 is the "hardcore mature gamer" and then proceed to list the definition of the average casual gamer as evidence.
Perhaps the demographic of the 360 isn't "hardcore mature"...they just think they are and feel the need to define themselve via the games they play?

Rare hasn't made one game for the Xbox 360 that was below "great" (AA). They're doing their job fine.
Natal sounds likea partof theinside of someones rectum. Microsoft really know how to make a great name for something...
No, it's what they get for being Arrogant. They claimed that Nuts & Bolts would be a Revolution in Platforming & that it would be the best Game in the Series. Look how that turned out.thats what they get for being greedy.

EDIT: Oh, and they claimed that Banjo-Kazooie & Banjo-Tooie were Out-Dated MULTIPLE Times In-Game & Before the Game was released.
P.S. They're quite the Liars recently (Claiming that Nuts & Bolts was Banjo-Kazooie & Banjo-Tooie with Vehicles & Saying that LOG's Lost Challenges has 12 Challenges (When it was 6 Challenges Repeated Twice)).
