Final Fantasy did pretty well and so did Resident Evil, Tomb Raider and Mortal combat.

Tomb Raider and Resident Evil in particular made hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office.

@casharmy: That reminds me, the Resident Evil anime is coming soon. I enjoyed the first one with Claire and Leon.

Its sucks Ratchet and Clank movie didnt do better, shouldnt hurt its reputation too much though. Its hard to believe the movie could score so low, all the source material was there, the jokes, etc, it was all there. Im guessing they just used a cheap weak director or something.

Although I like the Ratchet and Clank games quite a bit, the stories and characters have been consistently bad.

Having said that, Batman V Superman received similar scores and that movie was far more thoughtful and meaningful than the vast majority of comic book movies. It doesn't hold the hand of the viewer. It's sitting at a 44 on metacritic when it more reasonably deserves around the 65 to 70 mark.

Maybe the fans will still find joy in Ratchet and Clank. Maybe there's references that only the fans would understand.

You're average Pixar movie or even a kids a show like Clone Wars tackles subject matter better.

@uninspiredcup: I dont think so, not many movies handle fear, consequences, religion, politics, etc in a movie like that one did. And the movie wasnt that bad, just had pacing issues and weak combat.

I agree, its only through this can we all appreciate what has been done and to a certain extent not done. Let alone bring up a movie, thus SDC remains INTACT.

Just got home from watching the R&C movie. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. Ive definitely seen worse movies.

A solid 3*/5* in my book.

The sun news paper rated Star Fox. >> R&C.

I honestly think that Batman V Superman was a victim of expectation. It is obviously flawed, but it has such incredible highlights and I feel it's a strong movie as a whole that's been muddied by questionable editing and having the audience work to understand it instead of spoon feeding the viewer.

It isn't like the other comic book movies. It isn't a popcorn flick.

R&C isn't based on a movie.........idiot.

Critical failure doesn't mean financial failure.

Well it wouldn't stop me from seeing the movie if I wanted to. I never pay attention to movie reviews, even less than I do game reviews. I cannot tell you the number of times I watched something after seeing that 90+ Rotten Tomato score only to be disappointed after, and vice versa I've enjoyed lots of movies panned by critics.

I'm guessing that Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children was a masterpiece to you then.

Why not.....??Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children maybe is not a masterpiece.........but a very good movie based on FFVII.

R&C games on PS2,PS3 are not based on any movie......and R&C on PS4 is amazing game,best platform game of this gen.
