1 out of 10. Nintendo is really bad at making games. They make N64 games with gamecube graphics. All of their games are easy, simple and not fun to play. They dont put any effort or money into their games. All of them have small budgets and small development times. They feel cheap. They all have simple cartoony graphics which shows lazyness. Audio quality of their games are bad. Alot of them still use midi music...lol. No voice acting. Barely any cutscenes. Horrible story or just a rehash of saving princesses etc. Gameplay is insanely easy. AI is non existant in nintendo made games. Enemies either stay in one spot waiting to die, or they walk back and forth. Thats it. Their online games suck so far. Rehashing the same series over and over with little improvements. I dont see how anyone can give nintendo a 10 for their games when most of them are average at best. As for the rest of the company, they are insanely behind the times. They make idiotic decisions that push third parties away. They push gimmicks way too hard and they mostly suck. They make us suffer through massive game droughts which has been normal since the N64 days. Thats insane. Nintendos a bad company and ill never understand why the fanboys love them so much.stuff238
Most of the things on your list are either untrue or petty reasons such as cutscenes.

Nintendo has become entirely average to me. From them dumbing down Zelda and having extreme hand-holding, to handing off Metroid to Team Ninja, for their refusal to get with the times in respect to on-line, from ignoring F-Zero and Starfox and Waverace and putting other great long lost series on handhelds instead of consoles, I can't say I'm impressed. The only thing that has really blown me out of the water from them this gen have been both Galaxy games, and DK.
And while I can appreciate them trying to innovate by introducing motion-based control gaming, I think it has done nothing really positive overall for the industry. It's helped accomplish two things, both that I see as large negatives: it's brought gaming more into the mainstream which has caused it to be vastly dumbed down for the masses (also necessitated by such a rudimentary interface from a technology that's still very much in its infancy), and has made MS and Sony follow suite, all of which are now allocating a large portion of their developmental resources to Wiimote, Kinect, and Move casual garbage-ware.
Now to top it off, they've recently come out and said some really moronic things. From Iwata's "we're too far behind to catch up on-line wise to MS and Sony", "nobody will be able to tell the difference between hardware generations", to Reggie's recent mouth-sewage about E3's reception and gamers in general, they're really making the rounds.

1. Does it being on a handheld somehow make it a lesser game? Kid Icarus uprising probably had better production values than any other nintendo game in recent memory
2. What about all the other franchises they brought back on the wii like Punchout, the Excite series, and sin and punishment? Those get ignored as well?
I'd give nintendo a 7.5
Good first party games, innovative and they produce good quality handhelds aswell as consoles. The bad thing is that the online sucks, poor 3rd party games and i think they're overdoing the casual side of gaming a bit too much to me.

First of all my song had a Wizard=Endangered species. You anger the wizard with your jelly. Also only Looing ENDS and reach 3 would give 10/10 for 360, most users on here are PS3 fansor nintendo pretendalongs. So you've never even gave the wii a chance, thats a pretty pathetic way to judge something, I am not a big fan of the 360, but I have played it and I'm just not a big fan of what the system offers. But at least I gave it a chance.2/10
I was weened on the NES and SNES but as I grew up I wanted.........more.
As it sits now my mom bought a Wii. I moved back in with my parents while I go to college. Guess how many times I've fired it up?

I forgot to mention that my mom never bought any games for it. Does it have Wii Sports on the hard drive? Does it even have a hard drive?

it depends how new the wii is, if it is a newer wii, it didn't come with any games, why would she buy a wii with no games, your story sounds fake, even the dumbest consumers would buy a wii with at least a single game.First of all my song had a Wizard=Endangered species. 1. We've had this discussion numerous times before. A game is not a lesser game on a handheld as opposed to consoles just as Gladiator is not lesser of a movie on my home TV as opposed to the theatre. But Gladiator is a better experience in theatre, hence more enjoyable. I keep saying it but for some reason you don't wish to hear it: games are fine in and of themselves, but the manner in which they're presented is of crucial importance. It allows them to live up to their fullest potential and they are far more engrossing. Why do you think there's such a huge market out there for people to build their own home theatre systems?
I would argue that Kid Icarus, played on my huge TV with a comfortable controller, with my sound system cranked up is an objectively better gaming experience than playing on a relatively small screen with sh!tty sound and what amounts to the comfort of a brick with limited battery life. I don't know how anybody could try to argue otherwise, and suspect you only do so out of loyalty to Nintendo so you'll defend all their decisions no matter how illogical.
I have asked you this before, and don't think you replied: would you be fine if Nintendo moved its Mario and Zelda franchises solely to handhelds? Or if they got out of the console business altogether and only had handhelds? If yes, I really have trouble believing that, and if no, why not?
2. I'm not ignoring those. They just don't reflect my feelings and reasons towards the rating I gave Nintendo, so I failed to acknowledge them. :) :P It's great that they put Punch-Out on the Wii, I give them massive credit for that, and as I mentioned also for Donkey Kong as well.

honestly I thought 5-6 was pretty fair rating for Nintendo, though I personally feel it is a 7-810
I am not a gluttonous gamer, so if a console has about 15 good games during its lifespan that I enjoy (and two to three must-playtitles), I am satisfied with that console (Wii). Nintendo is my favorite developer, even though they, aside from Skyward Sword and maybe three or so other titles, didn't even take full advantage of the Wii's promised revolutionary motion controls. Nonetheless, I bet that if I made a top 20 list of my favorite games ever, more than half of them would be Nintendo titles (including the top spot), and their handheld offerings have always been superb. Despite some recent blunders, I still feel content in rating them with the highest score in the grand scope of gaming history and their excellent contributions.

In all honesty I could care what I'm playing the game on as long as it's good. Some of nintendo's best games have been on handhelds as well as consoles.Plus the benefit of being able to play it anywhere around the house is nice
7/10, Nintendo is severly overrated these days. They were fantastic back in the days of NES/SNES, but from GC onwards they have sticked to the exact same franchises and have never met up to the generation's standards. Nintendo hasn't released anything within the past few years that is "masterpiece" quality in respects to the current generation standards. Not even their recent Zelda/Mario games live up to those on past platforms. What's more, they seem to continue living in the past with the Wii U. I'm sure Nintendo was fantastic, but I need to see them try and deliver interesting experiences, not the same franchises over and over again. You're not going to get anything out of the new Zelda/Mario games that you haven't gotten before. Many people always say that they only buy Nintendo platforms as secondary ones and still praise them to death, which isn't fair. A secondary platform should never be held in as high regards as a primary platform.
If Sony made a new console with PS Move, completely got rid of their third party support, created a weak console, and kept going on with MGS, Sly Cooper, Uncharted, and Jak and Daxter games, they would be bashed to oblivion. Nintendo does this and seems to get loads of praise, that's the hipocricy of this industry.
