Get ready to go beyond tipping the scales and downright obliterate competition with the new Razer Sabertooth Elite Gaming Controller for the Xbox 360.

Absolutely fatal in the right hands, the Razer Sabertooth features an unprecedented six additional multi-function buttons that are fully programmable, an integrated OLED

OLED screen huh? Besides that, the D-PAD looks pretty good, all those extra buttons  hopefully next gen console controllers have some of those extra buttons.

Only downside is that it's not wireless but the cable should be long enough

d pad looks like a major improvement. still, I can kinda care less since the only gaming I do on my 360 is shmups and fighting games, and I have multiple arcade sticks for that.

I like my Onza just fine. I only need the two multi-function buttons (I use them to map to left and right stick presses, since I always found that operation a little awkward), and it's held up well the past year or so since the controller I got with my 360 stopped working. Also, I got it for less than the price of a wired Microsoft 360 controller, as opposed to 80 f***ing dollars Jesus Christ.

Why didn't MS use a Dpad like that one in the first place? It's such an obvious problem with the original 360 pad, and the pop-up Dpad 'fix' on the newer pad isn't much of an improvement. getyeryayasout
The saddest part is that you can fix the Xbox 360's controller with the remains of a Cheez-it box. Seriously, could Microsoft not afford a few million cheez-it boxes to make the D-pad work right?

Oh yeah, that's right, they already spent all their money on doritos, and those come in greasy plastic bags that can't be recycled.

The industrial design seems pretty fantastic, even if it has all that dumb razer branding and packaging. The real question is the build quality - Razer's stuff feels cheap. That coming from someone typing on a Lycosa and using a Mamba mouse.

I think it comes down to patents actually. Both Nintendo and Sony have their own patented D-pad mechanisms - it's why the Playstations have such a different Dpad to any Nintendo console. Microsoft's solution unfortunately sucks. Thanks for posting the link though, I'll be checking this out.

I like the convenience of wireless alot wouldn't really want to switch back to a wired 360 controller it wouldn't be so bad if you could use long a super thin light weight usb to min usb cable like you can with the ps3. If I did switch back I'd go for a hori turbo pad ex 2 like the ergonomics + turbo functions and its the best D-pad I've ever used in a controller and a really strong rumble crashing in burnout paradise was intense you really felt them!

Why is that all these third parties are using their D-Pads for other systems? How come they don't get sued?

Hopefully the sticks have more movement and smaller deadzones, those are my main issues with the 360 controller.

Interestingly enough, playing on the Wii U for so long, I find both the dualshock and the 360 controller layout to be ineffective.

Microsoft has had a new model of the controller, with a raised dpad that's way better, for quite some time.

Bad name, silly carrying case, $80, and fugly. Do not want. However if I was a competitive tourney gamer I'd get one.getyeryayasout

It's been confirmed to be $80?? I take it because you can't buy just a controller without the pointless carrying case?

But it does look great, what the Onza should have been.

"Razer Sabertooth Elite"
This XTREME GAM3R nonsense needs to stop. Just call it the Razer iController like a normal company. A sabertooth isn't even a snake. Unfortunately.
But seriously, Razer's branding bothers me somewhat. They do have their own identity, and that's good I suppose. But to me it's a borderline abrasive one. Everything has to be "cool" and blatantly aimed at this specific demographic.

So the reason for no wireless is they couldn't fit a battery slot on the back because they had to have those huge flappy pads there? Or/and maybe the screen and backlit buttons suck up too much energy? Either way I'd rather have wireless. 10 feet is tiny. People live in their living rooms. Living rooms are generally quite large.

I really don't understand why a carrying case. That's just a silly waste of money.

Other than that I'm sure it's a quality product that fills the niche of people wanting to be able to crouch and look without taking your thumb of the stick or whatever the purpose of more, programmable buttons is.

Also, stop viral marketing.

hmmm..yeah no Razer isn't that good of a accessory maker I purchased a Razer Onza TE for the 360 just recently because I had a 10 dollar cerfiticate at bestbuy and was able to get it for 30 dollars and since the power A microcon controllers suck ass and I've went through 5 of them at walmart I wanted to get a better well known accessory maker but its not all its cracked up to be specially at the original price when it was first released *good thing I waited*

I've already taken back one of them its mic port not working correctly and frankly the extra shoulder buttons are so improperly placed that you end up hitting the RB and LB most of the time which is what I now have those extra buttons mapped too, the resistance increase wheels on the sticks are iffy at best with no clear defined amount of clicks set when you purchase the controller, and the dpad hurts the thumb it should have been far more rounded then it is though it is more accurate then the stock 360 controller dpad.

so I don't see my self getting this one ever since it will cost an arm and a leg compared to a stock controller and it offers nothing really specially and those extra buttons are still placed improperly they seem to be placed way to far in and still like they will be accidently hit when you mean to hit the rb and lb.

tried it, it works for about a week before the stuff breaks down and you still have the same problems again, nearly every Mod to fix the dpad on the 360 controller is temporary.

the little rotation thing on some xbox controllers tend to break easily its pretty much picked raised or disc based and stick with that never switch between often or the turn mechanism breaks.
