RE: 5 Racist issues

I really hate it when anyone plays the "race" card. We're all the same outside of our skin color, why do we have to make such a big deal out of it?

Killing White Zombies, Killing Black Zombies, What is the difference?

It's okay to shoot all types of Zombies, except the ones in RE5?

Anyways, Capcom wanted to boost the hype and sales, so SADLY, Capcom succumbed to the demands of the haters.

But if something comes up that has the color of their skin they flip and demand it to be removed. But arent there a lot of white people in video games that get shot or brutally murdered? We dont cry our bleeding little hearts out, we play the game.

But if a African Amercan gets shot in a video game, a whole lot of angry blogs.

Dont they want to be treated "Normally"? Then why do they thrive to be treated better then us?

Hate Crimes also tick me off, how the hate can only go one way. But thats a different story...

study black history. driven from their homelands and brought to america and were treated like live stock for about 200 hundreds then after slavery jim crow laws were introduced. separate but not equal killed for whistling to a white women hanged for looking at a white women. black have been treated like crap in this country and it recently started to get better for thems, but racism still exist its just covered up. its easy to say we all the same color under the skin. but not everyone is smart like you. there was a time people thought blacks did not have feeling and weren't human.

When I was in college the federal government called my adviser and asked if he had any black students in his Forestry classes and wanted them regardless of their gpa, he said yes we do but what about the other students in Forestry? They said "ok we'll take them if they have a 4.0 gpa.

Also in alot of poor areas across America only blacks are usually recognised as actually being poor, yet there are hundreds of thousands of poor people from other races.

The games setting in africa, so naturally the zombies should be yah know swedish. :roll: The whole race card its getting rediculous , because quite frankly it only works in one direction.Erik_Lensherr

don't have a problem with the game but I have to ask one question why couldn't the hero be a black guy or girl. In alot of other games too why can't the hero be other races. I can see this game being a problem or band in some places.blackdreamhunk

Anyways, as a black guy, and 100% african no less, I really really wanted to purchase this game, but after seeing more and more of it, I think I'll pass...and it isn't race related issues....it's because it looks like the same game RE4 was with a few touches here and there.

If anything, I'm actually enjoying how much coverage Africa's been getting in the game industry lately...FarCry 2, Afrika, Splinter Cell (although minor)....

anyways, as for RE5, I think I'd be more offended if they based the game in Africa and all the people were white...

I'll wait and see how it does though...but until further notice....please, by all means, continue arguing amongst yourselves over something as pointless as this. =)

that's the problem w/ affirmative action. It should be a class issue, not a race issue. Then again, if there was no affirmative action, less employers or universities will accept ppl of other races.Afirmative action needs to be revamped.

Well, the RE series has it's well-established characters like Chris and Claire Redfield, Leon Kennedy. So they stick to the script. Sheva looks cool imo. I was just kidding about Zack from DOA. Alyx Vance was a pretty famous main character who is of African decent. Not as big as Gordon, but still massively important.
