What the heck is with people saying games are shorter nowadays? Yeah, I remember ALOT of 20+ hour SNES non-RPGs back in the day... oh wait, no there weren't.

i played through all of those besides RE0 and i can tell you it didnt take anywhere near that long for most of them. RE3 in particular was a very short game...

Its great how you say "They dont" but then dont have a estimate on how long they take. 1st playthroughs always take longer than a 2nd play through and yes they do last roughly that ammount of time. I said i played RE3 in japanese (I dont speak Japanese) so like i said it could take alot less. I wish people would not speak out there backsides on here as its quite funny.

RE3 took 6-8 hours at most. RE remake took 10 hours at most per character. RE2 took 6-8 hours per character. RE4 took 15 hours. Code veronica took around 15 hours aswell. just because it took you a long time to finish them doesnt mean it takes everyone else that same amount of time. get over yourself lol.. fact is the RE games have never been huge games and can all be completed in 1 sitting if you are someone that can sit down for an entire day and play.

I know your talkin out your backside because if you had played RE2 correctly you'd know theres added content in RE2 the 2nd chapter which you dont do in the 1st.

You failed. Nice job. I love how people forget the little things. We'll talk about RE when you have actually played it.

last time i played RE2 was about 7 years ago, from what i remember there was 2 discs 1 with leon and one with claire and they intertwined. all i remember was it didnt take a very long time and it was much easier then the other resident evils i had played. way to be an arrogant ****.

back peddling. Oh joy. Now your saying "It didnt take very long" so you dont have a decent idea on how long it took and just assuming. If you dont know what you are on about then dont talk at all as simple as that.

how am i back peddling i already told you how long it took, you need to be told more then once? you have reading impairments?

No im just watching you contradict yourself. I can be told again and again but it dont make it any differance as you back peddled with saying "It didnt take long" but then gave a time previously. You comment on it took you same ammount of time to complete RE2 but you would know if you actually played the game that if you had completed the game the 2nd chapter takes a considerable bit more time than the 1st chapter. Oh and thanks for abuse.

well seeing as i have played the game just not for a very long period of time i think i can be forgiven for not remembering that one part is slightly longer then the other. the game still isnt as long as you have made it out to be. and you are being arrogant coming on here and telling people they are talking out of their asses like you know more then everyone else. i'm not going to answer anything more on the forums here now because you are hellbent on spaming up the threads trying to proove something (who knows what).

Its a considerable ammount more and not slightly. The game isnt as long as i made it out to be? I just said how long it took me and then got a bunch of "Oh NOEZ IZ dOeZnt" but i was on about 1st run through which always takes a considerable ammount more time than any other play through. I'll tell people the truth even if they dont like it and if you had actually played the games propperly (normal/hard settings) which i have proven already that you have not as you would remember the 2nd chapter. Problem is if im spamming then you are doing the same but i have not been abusive towards you by saying comments of "you have reading impairments?" and "way to be an arrogant ****." so i dont blame you for not wanting to come back to these forums. Overall dont pretend you are some innocent person in all this as its pretty obvious you are not.,

People only say the older REs are short by speed run standards. Once you've played through the game once or twice you know where everything is thus it being a much shorter game. The older REs are in fact much longer games when you first play them and that is what matters. RE5 however has next to no puzzle solving and exploration factor. It's just about shooting your way through to the end, you'd expect a much longer game knowing this.

That didn't seem to hold back RE4, which on the GC ran on much smaller discs. Plus, being relatively linear, it's pretty easy to span to a second disc. And Microsoft's royalties don't become a problem until you get beyond two discs.

Apparently running through it's around 10-12 hours long, but if you take the time and explorelundy86_4

Explore what:| RE5 is linear as hell.

I think the old days of long single player/coop games are over, it probably takes longer to develop these games than older gens, so if there's no multi-player then it's worth a rent not a buy.

Since when is RE4 20 hours long? Have you even played it? I took my time playing it and still beat it in about 15 hours. On my second playthrough when I just ran through the game it probably took about 8 hours.

Seriously, where did you pull this 20 hour BS from.

And second, I'm getting real sick of people whining and crying about a 12-15 hour game being short. It isn't. It is the right length of time for a RE game to tell the story of give an involving experience. Making longer will only maje the game feel boring and artificially dragged out. Would you like them to maybe pad it with some fetch quests? Maybe bring in a ton of backtracking?

Give me a break. People seriously need to stop their crying. If you don't like it then wait for the game to be used for cheap and buy it then.

RE4 was not 20 hours long. My first run through was barely over 12, and my shortest was something around 4 or 5. :?

I wish. I think they will buy the game, continue to whine and complain about anything less than 30 hours being too short, and annoy us all with continued threads like this one.

I have to say that I don't understand how a Resident Evil game is "explorable". It's not like you can take Leon into the woods in Resident Evil 4 and play in the butterfly meadows and ride unicorns into the sunset. Instead, you're bound by invisible walls and the lack of a jump button, and his disability to climb over walls that are the size of his body.

I'm getting the game just because of co-op. I knew the game wouldn't be AAA material as soon as I saw that everything about it was pretty much the same from RE4 except the co-op. If this game didn't have co-op I wouldnt get it. I see 8.0-8.5 on GS.mmirza23
Just because it's the same thing as its predecessors doesn't mean it won't get a AAA. All the GTA's got AAA, and they were basically the same. I'm hyping this game AAA, and I'm probably gonna get like 20 hours with this game. I'll play co-op offline with my brother.
