Resident Evil 4 PC is most likely the best version out to get IF YOU USE MODS. One of the many advantages of gaming on PC.The ENB mod is basically RE4 with Next generation graphic effects. It adds effects like Depth of blur, more shaders, motion blur, better reflections, and better water. But yer, Wii is a good finalised version, if not the best unless PC can fix all the mistakes of the original port and add more.

why would that be?

PC version looks very good with the right mods: GC textures, high-res HUD and fonts, Enbseries.

But I think the GC version running on Dolphin is the best due to the real time cutscenes. It makes the difference when you play with alternate costumes.

yea i know...playing with a costume and then a cutscene take place and leon would be in a different costume...well, that was just plain freaking annoying

GC version was amazing...wii perfected it...at least for me

Still got bad memories of this game after playing with its control scheme i was back and hooked on the PS2 version but still the Wii one is my favourite i love the controls for that game :P

Yes, that's why they modded the hell out of the PC version. The devs really botched the PC version of this game, luckily modders came in and saved the day.

SOO...let me get this straight RE4 pc is best because in its original incarnation which is broken both graphical compared to the Ps2, gamecube and Wii versions and though its broken it still runs like crap on PC's is better because you then have to find the mod then install it and watch as said mod increases the system requirements even higher?

P.S: and i even forgot the broken control scheme for the PC version which wasn't fixed with the patch for it that was releaed.

The controls were fixed with a mod, finding and installing a mod is an easy process and the system requirements are easily achieveable with 2007 hardware. I think this game is a perfect example of how modders can save an otherwise poorly ported game. You have to give some credit to them.

you forgot to mention, knife felt good on the wii, while on every other version, not so much, the aiming was PERFECT, i did so many head shoots in that game :roll: it was a litle to easy,but same could be said for pc version too, but hard mode makes up for it. and the game has insane replayability.

wii version > pc version > GCN version > ps2 version

Which would you rather play: a game that looks good or the exact same game with the exact same content that looks better?

While those graphical mods look great (really, those modders did a fantastic job), the fact is that I just can't play the PS2/GCN/PC version due to atrocious controls. If there was a mod to allow me to aim with the right thumbstick then I'd be interested in getting RE4 again for the PC. But for now, the Wii version is the best to me.LongZhiZi

actually the controls were supposed to be fixed via an official patch, and they weren't all so they weren't fixed with any mods either since i've used said mods and all they do is add better mouse support which in the end doesn't fix the controls it just gives you an alternative.
Finding and installing a mod is NOT for the modern every day consumer is not a viable option.

RE4 PC was broken from launch with bad controls and graphics subpar compared to what we saw on ps2, gamecube, and Wii, the mods released for it don't fix the controls and the graphics mods simply increase the system requirements, And yes they can be handled by a 1000 dollar+ system from 2007 something most consumers DON'T have. I don't give credit to any thing that increases money spent when it didn't need to be that way.

RE4 PC = Too many bugs and glitches, easily the inferior version.
