I suppose you are entitled to a rant everybody else in SWs seem to rant, actually that seems to be the bulk of threads in SWs.

Hey if it makes Nintendo money, more power to them, in the end it really isn't that big of a deal.

Wii = $250 WiiFit=$70?

Hoola Hoop = $5

Soccer Ball = $10

Yoga Videos =$20

And you don't need to pay anything to stop drinking mountain dew and eating twinkies.

Its funny how ppl don't get that.

Jogging is free. I can go to my cities community center and workout for free, possibly jogging on the way there.

Why pay money, when I can workout for free.

I'm under the impression that WiiFit is a minigame compilation with training excercises included. It's a video game made to help you. And yes, Nintendo is capitalizing off Americans being fat and lazy.

Because Wii-Fit simulates stuff you can do more easily, and cheaper in real life. Its also more fun to go out jogging or to play soccer with friends than balancing on a board.

Seriously, i mean seriously, are americans such fatasses taht we need to have fun to exercise and lose weight, i mean come on. Seriously. I work out at least 5 days a week, ( cause i used to be fat and im afraid of anything fat now, like micheal moore).

Americans should learn how to exercise more and not utilize the wii fit, i doubt the training that the wii fit will give you will be anywhere close to an actual fitness program will. And i cant believe sheep are actually hyping this sometimes. And the press is totally eating this up like crazy. Talk about gimmicks, i mean come on.

My advice, take diet pills and workout and to build muscles, take steroids (but dont OD) and after a while of doing that, just go back to regular exercise.

Seriously the wii fit will not help fix obesity, its a cheap marketing ploy expoliting fatasses, fatasses need to take diet pills and work out for real, this is more of a rant, im sorry.

So, let's say the WiiFit is a huge success and sells millions, which is what everyone is expecting. I guess that would mean that many people disagree with you.

Well I figure its better to go OUTSIDE and exercise and get the kids AWAY from the TV. But hey, if people lose weight fromt his product its hard to call it a failure, although I fail to see how its more practical than doing the real thing.

Well gee, I guess you're just plain better than the rest of us, you go-getter you.

However, bragging about how good you are and how fat and lazy they are does not always work. You can sit there all day complaining about how fat and lazy and economically stupid Americans are, but that's not helping them get any more fit. WiiFit will, if nothing else, help the people who get it get into shape. What's wrong with that?

I think that if you cant find the time for sports (or the great body for sports, lol), having fun with a gaming system instead of going to a gym is a great idea.(gyms are expensive too) At least wiifit will be a GAME and will be fun just how brain age turns mental exercises into a game, whereas probably the biggest obstacle to people working out is that it's tough work and really boring.

also, as a canadian, I could see this thing getting played a lot during the worst winter months

While it still is better to go outside, most people never feel motivated to leave their house to work out. Nintendo's just trying to get people to play simple games and work out in the comfort of their home.

Sorry about this fellow Canadian making a fast (wrong) stereotypical assumption about Americans. I think it will be successful in Japan since most Japanese live in overcrowded cities; they can't even job on the sidewalk there's so much people. So exercising at home is almost the only way for Japanese to exercise well. I think it will be a flop in North America and especially in Europe. In Europe they walk a lot and most eat healthy foods. In North America we have a tendancy to just live life to the fullest lol. This game is basically boneheaded really... all you got to do is workout in your bedroom by doing push ups and set ups or something.

if we're all about being practical we'd be doing something productive as well as fun in the real world rather than playing video games. stuff like getting better at a sport, learning an instrument, doing a do it yourself project, trying a new recipe, writing a book, etc. all can be fun as well as productive. but ppl like things easy.

feel free to stop trolling Americans.

I don't see why people compare the two, sure you can do real exercise but that isn't the point, they're independent things.

Most people DON'T DO THAT. Having fun is the best motivation to get in shape, and so far, getting in shape is work. It's not fun, and a lot of people just can't spare the mental motivation it takes to work out alongside everything else on their mind. If it feels like a past time, people will do it.

PS2 - $120
DDR - $30
DDR Mat - $20

$170

Wow cheaper than a Wii.

Alot of people just cant play DDR. I can never understand why. Some people just dont got rythmn I guess.

that and ddr is not a game for old ppl. it's a different approach to getting fit. it relies on fast motions. wiifit seems more about balance. in that way i think it's more accessible than ddr. the analogy to real exercising is moot since it is real exercising. the only difference is that the wii helps to motivate some ppl who don't like regular exercise. at least that's the plan.

well having wii fit doesnt stop you from exercising normally (i.e. jogging etc.) so you can always do both...anyway,a parent can buy this fortheir child as an effort to keep it in good shape if they see it doent go outside play some ball. And on the other hand if you dont want it dont buy it :D

Well this has destroyed my earlier argument on here. I guess not everybody is like me and finds just plain working out fun.

I find it relzxing actually.

[QUOTE="cyborgjak427"]What's up with all of the Wii Fit hate?? I don't see why so many people hate this game.aznfool07

Because people know it will sell well, and its on the Wii, which to some = devil.... for some unapparent reason.

Lol, no. Its because we can do yoga, jog, and do push ups for about 20$ or less.

Then go do those. No one is forcing you to buy Wii Fit. If people like the game, for whatever reason, they will buy it and have fun with it. It may be or may not be more efficient but let people make their own choices.

I think people are mad because they would rather have Nintendo working on more gamer games then stuff for casuals.

They have all the "gamer games" I was expecting from them, plus numerous others that I wasn't expecting. The gamer in me is satisfied.

Same here. It appears that the games that cows and lemmings play have no replay value whatsoever because they need so many games to satisfy their needs. xD
