Reason why PS3 not outselling 360, 2 words.. Supply Constrained

A few days ago i made a post on how i dont understand the PS3 is getting outsold by the 360 when i recently went into 3 Best Buys and 2 Targets in my area and NONE of them had PS3s in stock.. Well i then realized that the 360 simply has sold more consoles because possibly they just have more consoles in stores.

What led me to conclude to this is just a few mins ago I went to the websites of Best Buy, Target and Gamestop and ALL of them had the PS3 completly sold out online and not avalible for store pick up due to being sold out! I really think even Sony themselves didnt think the PS3 would be this much in demand for the holidays and as a result did not prepare in manufacturing more consoles hence the 360 has sold more not because people want it over the PS3 but because the PS3 is just simply sold out so they buy the next best thing.

If you dont believe me just simply go to Target.com, Best Buy.com and Gamestop.com and look at the 360 console then go look at the PS3 console section and you will see the 360 elite is still in stock while the PS3 shows "back ordered" or sold out. Best buy is COMPLETLYL 100% sold out in stores and online.. on the Best buy website it shows the 120 GB sold out online and not avaliable for store pick up whatsoever while the 250 Gb is in stock but says "Limited quantity"

I honestly dont see how the wii has sold so much last month.. Every store i walked in had TONS of wiis piled up, unless Nintendo has just manufactured a crap load of them

Just because it sold out, doesnt mean it is selling well. PS3 may not have have a large number of stocks to begin with. And why on earth is a cow talking about sales? The Wii obviously beats the xbox and the ps3.

Why do you care about sales anyway? I truly hope we can stop trying to find excuses for the PS3's sales.

All the stores in my area all have the Wii, PS3, and 360 in stock.

I dont think this is the case in most areas. I can pretty much go to any BestBuy, Futureshop, Wal-Mart or anywhere else at any time and find a PS3, and theres always a bunch. I live in Canada though.

Why would I go 50 miles to the nearest Best Buy when I can go 2 to Walmart? A bundle with a game for $339 is worse then a $299 stand alone? BTW, you never menytioned anything about bundles in the OP, so what's the difference?

I just realized, all of those PS3 boxes inside the videogame cases at work are really empty. Sony just wants prople to pay $299 for a cardboard box, That's how they'll get there money back...

That is obviously not the reason. The reasons are, more people want a 360, it is better than the PS3, and it is cheaper.
