PS3 has always been more expensive than the competition, and that is the only reason it hasn't sold as much. I would bet you my left nut that if the 360 and ps3 always had the same price point, the ps3 would have sold way more.TheDuffman26stating the obvious because?

Please. When the Wii was supply constrained did it not destroy the competition? When the 360 was constrained, did cows not say it wasn't a valid excuse? Sorry I'm not swallowing this garbage, supply constrained or not, when you lose and are outsold, you are outsold. Period.

The wii shouldnt even be compared its a fact that its at a higher then demand then both 360 and ps3 combined. They probably suffered huge comsumer loses during its drought. Im not say the shortage is a underlying problem but that definatly did lose them some sales since it has been sold out in some stores were they offered good deals.[QUOTE="Kennysolidsnake"][QUOTE="chikenfriedrice"]
yeah that's probably it....PS3's are so hard to find
actuallly they are, a heck of a lot harder to find than 360s and especially Wiis.. 3 weeks ago my Best buy had ATLEAST 3 hundred PS3s in stock of both the 250 gb and 120 GB models and they are STILL outsold even today when i went, not one PS3 in sight. still a few 360s and a ton of Wiis in stock.. sure the PS3 is a hit or miss and you still might see a couple at a wal mart here and there but i havent yet seen one store sold out of either 360 or Wiis over the last several weeksI could walk in to any store right now and buy a PS3 in my area
Same.PS3s ran out during black friday and sony was just to lazy to make any more....(which i got my right when it dropped to 299 back in sept lol)

This is true. I wanted to get a PS3 a day after Boxing Day, but there were none. I suddenly see a whole line of Xbox 360 Consoles later on.A few days ago i made a post on how i dont understand the PS3 is getting outsold by the 360 when i recently went into 3 Best Buys and 2 Targets in my area and NONE of them had PS3s in stock.. Well i then realized that the 360 simply has sold more consoles because possibly they just have more consoles in stores.
What led me to conclude to this is just a few mins ago I went to the websites of Best Buy, Target and Gamestop and ALL of them had the PS3 completly sold out online and not avalible for store pick up due to being sold out! I really think even Sony themselves didnt think the PS3 would be this much in demand for the holidays and as a result did not prepare in manufacturing more consoles hence the 360 has sold more not because people want it over the PS3 but because the PS3 is just simply sold out so they buy the next best thing.
If you dont believe me just simply go to Target.com, Best Buy.com and Gamestop.com and look at the 360 console then go look at the PS3 console section and you will see the 360 elite is still in stock while the PS3 shows "back ordered" or sold out. Best buy is COMPLETLYL 100% sold out in stores and online.. on the Best buy website it shows the 120 GB sold out online and not avaliable for store pick up whatsoever while the 250 Gb is in stock but says "Limited quantity"

What he is saying is that Sony shipped out a reasonable size of Playstation 3 consoles but not enough for the consumer's demand. While Microsoft was able to ship several units more. This holiday season I would have to say(I work a my local Sears part-time), the Playstation 3 has been in demand and sold out on several occassions since the price cut. And since we're one of the only retail stores that do layway for electronics PS3(and Wii) we are ALWAYS out of stock. The unusual thing is that when we resupply the amount of PS3s aren't enough in comparison to what we get with the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.
But a retail store like Sears is much smaller compared to Best Buy which had rows of Wii underneath counters of their music section(we have a large store with a large music section) for the holiday season. Not to mention I'm pretty sure there were some Best Buys(at least in the Charleston, SC area) that had large displays of Xbox 360s available throughout store hours all the way up to closing. Still, even with the large amount of Xbox 360 consoles in stock, they were flying off shelves as well. Microsoft(and even Nintendo) were able to just manufacture more of their consoles this holiday season then Sony. At least that's what I believe. I think we had people ask about the Playstation 3 as much as the Wii this Christmas.
Everyone who just about ask for a Xbox 360 was able to purchase one in comparison to the PS3.
so, in other words, this is your theory and you have absolutely no proof whatsoever? i saw a bunch of ps3s at walmart the other day. i've also seen a few at the gamestop near me. see, i can assume things too.A few days ago i made a post on how i dont understand the PS3 is getting outsold by the 360 when i recently went into 3 Best Buys and 2 Targets in my area and NONE of them had PS3s in stock.. What ever eases your mind so you can sleep. or maybe its because the 360 is a better console, with a better controller... or maybe its because people want a change rom sony, o rmaybe its because tomatoes are green then red.A few days ago i made a post on how i dont understand the PS3 is getting outsold by the 360 when i recently went into 3 Best Buys and 2 Targets in my area and NONE of them had PS3s in stock.. Kinda off topic... but do you mind telling me how old you are?

BTW, the ps3 has been slaughtering the 360 world wide anyway

Can you tell me where gamespot store is?
[QUOTE="CanYouDiglt"]Or maybe it is because of aliens or the govt. or M$'s paying them off. I love the conspiracy theories. Myabe it is not selling as well because more people want the other console OMGZ NO......ya but do not let logic get in the way.KennysolidsnakeIts simple math man.. Answer me this then.. if a majority of people prefer the 360 over the PS3 then how come when you go to Gamestop.com Target.com and Bestbuy.com they all say sold out or "back ordered" and amazon still has a limit on how many PS3s you can purchase.. yet those same websites have all models of 360s in stock no problem.. its simply because Sony under played their hand and didnt make enough PS3s this year to keep up with demand.. the proof is in the pudding, just go to those websites and you will see
Because the store maybe only had 20 ps3's and 60 xbox's?
My local Target and Walmart Supercenter are STILL sold out of PS3's. They have had none in stock since at least a week before Christmas, so I don't find this very hard to believe.yeah that's probably it....PS3's are so hard to find
chikenfriedrice
Seriously, Kenny, just give it up. The PS3 isn't exactly extremely popular like the PS1 & the PS2 are.
2 words Bull... S**t
I work in Gamestop and we still have about 50-60 PS3's upstairs. The PS3 isn't selling much because it costs more than the 360 and doesn't appeal to the average gamer who are interested in the majority multiplats that come out on both rather than the few quality titles that are released on the PS3
Lol TC is so schizophrenic one minute a 360 fan then defending the PS3 not outselling. What next the Wii's the best mark my words it will eventually get to that stage :o
You just need to accept the fact that the 360 outsold the ps3. Get over it. I went to Wal-mart and Sams Club yesterday and both had plenty of ps3's in stock. If you seriously think that the reason that the ps3 isnt selling like the Wii is because no one can get their hands on one then you need to get a grip on reality.
Terrific therory. Sadly the evidence is against you.
I bought a new PS3 slim under two weeks ago. Their were plenty in stock. I'm in UK.
Stats_
same i mean my local Argos had phat PS3's down to 220 like a week before christmas i actually became tempted to just say bugger it and buy one for a backup asi love the fat ones design more but i decided i should get a 360 then i walked into my local music store and seen a BC Rich and well that story ends with that.
Ijust searched bestbuy.com and they have the PS3 120 and 250 sku's in stock. All retailers near me have plenty of all three systems. I highly doubt it's because there is a shortage of PS3s.
[QUOTE="suntaice"]Maybe december NPD will show the PS3 outsold the 360 and if it didnt then its simply because Sony didnt have as many consoles in retail stores as MS had 360s.. thats the only reason why the PS3 would get outsold because if the PS3 is outsold almost everywhere and 360s still in stock, that would be the only logical explanation. If they were outsold, shouldnt they be outselling the 360by now?
Kennysolidsnake
I think i'll wait for Sony to give excuses...........
