Reasons I bought a ps3 today.

1. always had sony consoles and couldn't go without the great franchises (god of war, gran turismo, final fantasy)

2. always awaiting my 360 to get the RROD and don't feel like going a month without the possibility of playing games.

3. got it for 340 after tax with the kmart coupon :)

I will eventually buy one, but seriously, what is the point right now? I'll buy one in a year when I can get a used one for a couple hundred dollars.

Great for you. By the way, is it really that bad with the RROD with you? I only got them once, and I bought my 360 when I got oblivion (when it launched that is).

for now i'll play R&C, Unchartered, Heavenly Sword, Resistance, Assassins Creed and Unreal Tournament 3 to go along with the great 360 lineup, best of both worlds ya know.

No i never got the RROD, a few months ago my disc drive failed but right now my 360 has the new heatsink and the benq drive...the fear is still there though.

Now that Mario and Zelda are out, and SMG has been delayed, are there any games Wii owners are looking forward to in a year, like the PS3 owners? No, Nintendo has sold most Hardware but least software because it is too casual. Those old people playing Wii bowling are not buying any other games, and us hard core gamers can clearly see better online with the PS3 and 360. The Wii is way too casual now.

And congrats on the PS3, if I get it though I'm gettin the 80 Gig.

I picked up a wii demo playing SMG at wal-mart last night, had both controllers in my hand started moving around did some attacks with the nunchuck and thought, wow this is insanely stupid...put it down and walked away. I'm sure swinging a 1 foot long virtual baseball bat or golf club is great fun but not my cup o tea.

RROD is hardly outdated, everyday new people come on here going WHY ME WHY DID IT HAVE TO DIE NOW...the issue has not been fixed completely.

Yeah, I've read them. "This is my 6th RROD in 6 months". You don't really believe those do you? Sure they still fail on occasion but it's way overstated, often I suspect by fakeboys.

I'm not "offended" that you bought one, just mystified. I just can't see any reason to buy one before Q3 2008.

Eh, R&C is a valid reason to buy one. Right now? Best platformer on any console, especially for teenagers and up. SMG is better for, well, kids, very young ones.

And the RROD, it's not overstated. I'm one of the few people in my friends group that has a ps3, however, nearly everyone has a 360, and I've heard people's 360's break 4-5 times due to RROD, and 90% of the people i talk to, whether online or offline, that own a 360, have had at least one RROD..

I do own a 360(have since March 2006), and mine hasn't RROD'd once. I consider myself lucky.

Other games to buy: R:FOM(launch FPS that was actually good!(looks at his PDZ game and is HAPPY he could trade it in to gamestop for $3 off)), Uncharted looks great, dunno on that yet. Heavenly Sword's an amazing rent. Not buy, but rent. Warhawk's an amazing buy.

Now I'm not dissing 360 here at all, in fact I realize that the 360 has a bigger variety of great games to buy. I'm just saying it's not a bad value. And everyone that's "Waiting for MGS4, FFXIII, GTAIV" etc. Well, wait for another re-hash of the same series. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying, if you assume that those games are the only reasons you're going to buy a console, then BAM, there goes originality. I prefer new series's, or at least a good change to a series... Halo 3, my biggest disappointment of all, assuming that because halo 2 was amazing it would be, I bought it. Now I haven't played it for 2 weeks. I still play Warhawk. If I was given the choice between Gears of War(360) and Halo 3, I'd choose Gears of War.

Gotta give originality a little chance in there :P, can't just buy a console because you want to buy the same series.

^^Hint: One of the reasons I didn't buy a Wii.(I've played it enough, just didn't buy it) Do I really want to be playing another Mario game? No... not really. Zelda? Mmmm, could have been better, but it was quite fun. MP? Not my favorite game.. If I were to get one, I'd be more interested in a title like Zack&Wiki, which I see as underrated(on GS), just like R&C:F.

I love my 360 and PS3 can't touch it's game library but from a purely aesthetic point of view PS3 is one beautiful looking console.

It shows no mercy and takes no names when it comes to it's good looks.
