It´s not power supply issue. 680W is more than enouh for one single PCIE card. Besides we don´t even know if his problem really persists.jhonMalcovich

It could be. I have a Diablotek 750w PSU that was more than sufficient to power an AMD HD 5770. Yet, when I replaced my HD 5770 with a GTX 560 Ti, I started having overheating issues with both the Diablotek PSU and the GTX 560 Ti.

This is my guess...... If someone has a better guess, you're more than welcome.

Although the Diablotek should have plenty of juice, it's +12v railing was good for only 38A. Most good PSUs have at least 50A on the +12v railing. At least, that's my observation. When I replaced the Diablotek with a 700w CoolerMaster and a +12v of 54A, all the overheating issues with the GTX 560 Ti disappeared.

NO NO NO NO! That Diablotek POS is something you should never ever buy. The PSU is something you can not ever skimp out on.

So true , every Diablotek psu Ive encounter failed with a horrible ending.

That 750w Diablotek does not have enough @SS behind it to allow large power loads.

Well, gee. Too late. Where the h*ll were you back in 2009.

Prior to that, I've had name-brand PSUs like Antec become quirky on some of the other (minor) PCs I assembled. When no-name PSU and expensive name-brand PSU both fail, it was back to Square 1 for me.

The Diablotek actually works great still with the HD 5770 in my kid's gaming PC. I'll leave it there until I assemble a new PC and my kid gets my current one.

I suspect 680 watts may not be enough to power that system reliably under a full load.

Rocker6

It´s not power supply issue. 680W is more than enouh for one single PCIE card.

Definitely this, his PSU has enough capacity and is of a decent quality, we can rule that out. Sounds like some driver issue, so Clyde's guide should be the way to go. Only other thing that falls in mind could be a bad OC, if he tried that.

I have never overclocked and will never do, it is far above my head, i am new to PC world.

PC gaming is fun but fix problems is not fun, it only give me headache and i get frustrated when it not work lol

Wii was so easy, just press power button, put in game disc and play without any problems.

Most games are multiplats, and most of those are far better on PC.

Consoles only had like 30 exclusives each this gen, while PC had 120.

He meant they don't have big explosions and aren't mostly on rail with big hollywood setpeices that you can't explore because the map is a linear line.

Those are the only big budget titles that count to consolites.

I always get Corsair and have never had any problems. I did with a Thermaltake one long ago, but since then, I only buy Corsair.

Why don't they ever make anything like Mass Effect or Gears or GTA or Heavy Rain as PC exclusive?

Because it sells better on console.

Why do they make MMO PC exclusive?

Because it's strong enough to handle it, and PC gamers already used to getting ripped off and having their time wasted.

Why do they make RTS PC exclusive?

Because a mouse is a natural requisite to having a good RTS experience, nobody buy RTS for console.

There is no "exclusivity" on PC.

If something is good on PC, it comes to console.

PC is like college hoops.

Console is like NBA.

They recruit from PC, take their talent from PC, take the best games from PC, take best tech from PC.

As a result the console experience is a distillation of the best the PC has to offer, boiled down, filtered and bottled for mass consumption.

Essentially PC gamers are deeply hurt at lack of attention and focus to their platform.

They want to be console bros, and get attention and have Usher dancing for them.

But the world just ignores the PC.

Point me towards a console that can play Guild Wars 2, Witcher 1, Crysis Warhead, STALKER, Arma, Starcraft, Total War, Anno, Planetside 2, Amnesia, Hotline Miami, etc, etc. Also show me a console that plays Bethesda RPGs (and I want to play them, not suffer through them)...

All of those games are held in high regard by both gamers and critics, making a huge hole in your argument. There's also plenty of genre variety right there, so "LOL RTS/MMO" can't really pass for any sort of an argument.

And please, whatever you do, don't mention Usher and the PC in the same sentence again!

EVER!

I recently purchased a gaming pc after about 23 years of gaming pretty much exclusively console and I must say I am loving it. I won't bash the consoles that have provided me with countless hours of enjoyment but I do think some of the key points are. 1. The myth that you need a £/$1000 pc is ridiculous and really needs to be put to bed. For the same price ISH as a console you can get a pc that will run any console game on higher graphical settings than the console in native 1080p, at a much higher frame rate. 2. I remember the days when pc gaming could be a real pain but now with windows 7 (don't know about 8) it couldn't be more painless. 3. You can play on your HDTV on your couch with an Xbox 360 or ps3 controller and have a far smoother experience. 4. Emulation enables pc users to play the games of 99% console (other than ps3 and Xbox YET as far as I am aware) at higher resolutions and smooth everything out using clever AA techniques. 5. Console gaming has basically become PC gaming. You have an OS that can fail internal hard drives to install games which will be compulsory next gen, you have to do updates to the OS just like PC, online DRM is rumoured to be next. End of the day I game for the games as you all should but don't disregard the pc as a serious gaming platform when you haven't experienced it yourself you are basing your opinions on other people's or old experience when PC gaming could a bit daunting it is definitely worth another go.

Why aren't they exlcusive to console ?

At the end of the day its all about preference. Also no matter how you slice it, for casual gamer having a gaming rig makes no sense it just doesn't. I enjoy gaming on the PC, but this gen I have preferred consoles.

Have you missed the thread 50 PC exlusives 2013 ?

There is no "exclusivity" on PC.

If something is good on PC, it comes to console.

PC is like college hoops.

Console is like NBA.

They recruit from PC, take their talent from PC, take the best games from PC, take best tech from PC.

As a result the console experience is a distillation of the best the PC has to offer, boiled down, filtered and bottled for mass consumption.

Essentially PC gamers are deeply hurt at lack of attention and focus to their platform.

They want to be console bros, and get attention and have Usher dancing for them.

But the world just ignores the PC.

:lol::lol::lol:

Yep, PC has a lack of attention, despite having more games and exclusives than any of the consoles.  You heard it here folks.

Also, I might add that competitive gaming is almost 100% on PC now.  LoL and StarCraft are pretty much the only competitive games taken seriously, and what platform are they on?  Oh....Right. That pretty much negates your "the world ignores the PC statement"

And before you say that competitve gaming is a joke, I'll say that League of Legends Season 2 championship had over 8 million unique viewers during the finals.  Also, competitve esports are broadcast live on South Korean television, all PC games.

Guild Wars 2, Planetside 2 -> MMO

Starcraft, Total War, Anno -> RTS

Witcher 1, Crysis Warhead, Stalker, Arma, Amnesia, Hotline Miami -> If they are good they will be multiplat, they are not multiplat because they won't sell. In reality there is no such thing as "PC exclusive" as there is nothing keeping them exsluvie beyond lack of interest.

Bethesda RPG's play perfectly on 360, there are no issues.

If graphics (rez, framerate, etc) keep you from enjoying an otherwise perfect experience, then you have priorities other than gaming and I respect that but you probably belong on a hardware site rather than a gaming site.

All of those games sold well enough to make sequels worthwhile, in some cases those sequels even went multiplatform. But even then, the predcessors stayed PC exclusive...

I disagree with this lack of interest, some devs simply may prefer the enviroment of an open platform, and that is a valid reason to stay PC exclusive.

As for Bethesda games, I was refering to mods and community fixes more than graphics, since usually, unmodded Bethesda games can get messy if a game breaking bug or two kicks in, and you're stuck with few weeks of waiting for an official patch that may fix the issue. But you're right about one thing, I do have lots of interest in hardware and technology trends, but I don't see how that makes me any less of a gamer...

The guy is just upset that XBOX is going always  online drm and no second hand games. He can´t settle down with the idea console gaming is dying.

[QUOTE="Miketheman83"] No PC games on the list, pal. Except APB.

http://digitalbattle.com/2010/02/20/top-10-most-expensive-video-game-budgets-ever/

RR360DD

lol the date in that link is 2010.

TOR had the biggest budget of a game ever and that was in 2011.

So that list is outdated and invalid

His original point is still very much valid. There are some big budget PC games, but they are very few and far between compared to console games. Threads made BY HERMITS showing lists of upcoming PC games are proof enough. The vast majority are small budget / indie games that could probably run on a 4 year old iPhone.

GT4 was on the PC, wasn't it? What's your point here? Look at what all these big budgets are doing to the gaming industry. They are killing it. Devs closing their doors left and right. All that's left are mega publishers like EA and Activision. Now how is having a big list of big budget games a good thing? Quite frankly, a lot of the games on the PC I wanna play don't have huge budgets. You don't have to have $100 million to make a great game. Now I do feel that they have their place, otherwise we wouldn't have the best looking version of Crysis 3 on the PC.
