please respond to my remarks in bold.1st no hate just stick to the facts.
2nd 3DS needs an addon to add another analogstick, which means consumers are being ripped off who bought the first 3DS.
I bought my 3DS day one and I don't feel ripped off- they screwed up in not adding the second stick, so they came out with a peripheral to correct the mistake for cheap- keep in mind a new 360 controller is nearly 70.00 retail. If they had simply redesigned it with two stick that would be the consumer being ripped off.3rd Why I'm saying first?? Cuz its clearly a new 3DS is on its way with two analogsticks.
I certainly hope so, but it is far from certain at this point that the eventual redesign will have two sticks.4th Consumers are being confused by this marketing, like I said many people will feel to be ripped off by Nintendo. Of course monsterhunter is the only game to support this slidepade but once its there and once vita comes out with two analogsticks many programmer will make their games on this addon too and persuade Nintendo to bring a new version.
FALSE: 6 games so far have been announced to be compatible with the 2nd stick including Metal Gear, Ace Combat and Dynasty Warriors. And as far as confusion goes, anyone confused at the gamestore can ask the clerk about it or anyone else in the store between the ages of 14-20.5th the thing needs batteries, which I thought would be a thing of the past in this generation.
the add on requires it's own battery so as not to be a drain on the already lousy battery life of the device itself.6th It looks goofy too, and remembers me of this Gameboy lens.
I keep hearing this complaint- who gives a **** what it looks like? If you're worried about looks, worry about how the GAMES look!7th Not only gamers will be confused by it so will the programmers as they have the choice to support one analogstick controls, two or both for their games.
options are a good thing. The devs will only need to address the question of 'should we add an option to shift camera control from the touchpad to the right stick? Y/N'8th 3ds is still too expansive in comparison to the vita.
170.00 is a steal for this device. In fact(and I may be wrong here), I believe the DSi launched at that price point.9th 3DS is also the first Nintendo device to be sold lower than it should be, the same goes probably for vita too, but sony has a better online service which makes more money with the enduser on time. Nintendo just failed to make a good and profitable online service.
So you said it's too expensive, then you say it's being sold for less than it should be? And we all know Nintendo has a bad relationship with the internet.10th people can't see the 3d effect in videos or pictures unless they tried it out, many casual gamers who aren't that much of an insider in gaming but want to buy a new handheld will see a Nintendo device with Dreamcast-ps2 graphics and a Sony device with xbox-highend graphics in online footages.
Casuals aren't about to spend 300.00+ for a device to play games on that isn't a telephone. That's why they're casuals.11th Vita can be linked with the ps3 which makes the console a counter selling argument against the wiiu until ps4 comes. People can buy the vita instead of the wiiu, having a handheld which is as strong as your consoles and having the same experience as wiiu can last the ps3 probably for another 2 years.
I'm not exactly sure what this point is about.12th Nintendo can't do something like this as the 3ds as for now has no two anologsticks, there are also no plans to release Nintendo wiiu without the controller to give consumers who bought a 3ds an opportunity to save money by buying a new console. We also don't know if its technologically possible unlike they bring a whole new 3ds. If they do they will face a lot of distrust by consumers as I said.
You don't know what plans Nintendo does or doesn't have regarding their system that is still in the works.13th The 3d effect can be influenced by your playing as you might walk with it or just smash too hard on the buttons.
umm... what's this got to do with PSV? And if you're walking or moving about, you can turn the 3D effect off.14th As I said sony has a way better online service which can make the vita a direct competitor to apple and android while Nintendo has to do a good online service at all.
Restating a previous point does not a new point make.15th sony has still a backdoor with xperia play if mobilephones get too mighty, Nintendo is lacking something like this at all.
More than that, Nintendo has said outright that they refuse to help power the mobile gaming market. They don't plan a "backdoor" for the possibility that their device could fail. I like their confidence.16th vita has more and better controls than the 3ds.
clarify that, please.17th vita is a device of its time, the thing is way stronger than 3ds and the pure power in it can even keep up with gaming laptops seriously. Being hermit myself I don't see a point in requiring laptops for gaming only if vita is out. Of course it comes down to choice like controls or resolution to ''I can hold everything with my hands'' views but when it comes to price all what you can get in the laptop market is an intel atom netbook with an intel gpu for vitas price. Also the Vita isn't as loud as netbooks too and you have to think about that for many notebooks and tablets the software is made for different devices from their kind to tower pcs while vitas software is made for vita making the device even more competitive to the above.
Nintendo Handhelds have a long history of outpacing superior hardware- Gameboy vs Gamegear, GB color vs NOMAD, GBA vs N-Gage, DS vs PSP and now 3DS vs PSV.HFkami
Reasons why 3DS will sell more than Vita
- Monster Hunter
- Miku Hatsune
- Pokemon
- 1 Year Headstart
- $170 > $250
LegatoSkyheart
Correct on that.
I can say the same for the 3DS....would you rather play mario kart and land at home on the tiny 3DS screen or on the HDTV..??[QUOTE="AtariKidX"][QUOTE="FashionFreak"]
And that's why the 3DS will sell more than the Vita. Would you rather play uncharted at home on a tiny Vita, or play uncharted on the HDTV + leather armchair? People will just stick to their consoles over the Vita.
FashionFreak
That's how the 3DS differs from the Vita. With the Vita you're getting "watered down PS3 games" and PS2 ports. With 3DS you're getting exclusive games that you can play only on the 3DS.
So you either play Mario Kart 7, Mario Land 3D, and Pokemon on 3DS, or you don't get to play them at all.
Really? I didnt know I could play Uncharted:Golden Abyss on the PS3 . Let me ask you something, because you and most sheep seem to refuse to acknowlege that the VITA games are ENTIRE GAMES IN AND OF THEMSELVES, and NOT ports, why is it that Uncharted:Golden Abyss is considered a "Watered down PS3 game" (even though its an entire game with a 10+ hour campaign and story of its own), yet Super Smash Bros 3DS, or Mario Kart 7 arent considered "ports" or "watered down WII games"? Why do you refuse to acknowlege that the VITA games are new games and not just dumbed down ports? Because we all know Super Smash Bros 3DS isnt going follow the exact same formula as Brawl and Melee right? What is so different about Mario Kart 7 and Super Smash Bros 3DS that they dont warrant being called "dumbed down Wii games" in your eyes, yet Uncharted is going to have an ENTIRE full length story of its own? is it the tacked on gimmicky touch controls? You guys seem to be forgetting that the VITA ALSO has touch controls, that are being equally utilized. The only difference in those games and the 3DS games is that they have inferior graphics and ONE analog stick.[QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]you forgot mario kart, mario 3d land, animal crossing.. In truth you could just say mario....thread/ Look at the sales of Mario games on the DS. There nothing anywhere near them.Reasons why 3DS will sell more than Vita

3DS will have Pokemon
3DS will have Mario Kart
3DS will have MH (that we know of so far)
I don't see why it matters though, as a consumer, what sells more... sales don't detract quality from the experience or anything :?

Lol wut???
You repeated yourself like 10 times in those "seventeen" reasons. Can you actually parse it down to a few? Like you mentioned the second analog stick over and over again.

With the 3DS you getting N64 remakes and.....mario again. And that is why people will buy the Vita, for the Sony Franchises. Same with nintendo, people buy their systems for the Nintendo franchises. Regarding Mario kart, It has street pass and one would wanna play with his friends on the go ;)Most of Sony's 1st Party aren't that popular. Besides Gran Turismo, God of War, and Uncharted, games Sony published don't have the appeal of Nintendo.
As long as kids and Christmas exist, Nintendo will contine to have the higher sales.
Take an average kid and put two pictures in front of him. One has Mario in it; the other has Nathan Drake. Guess which one will be recognized.

But tis true.
Its all down to what games you want. You want uncharted, get vita, you want more mario, get the 3ds.
Obviously kids want pokemon and such, hence the 3DS. By that logic, 3DS will sell more even if the vita is all round better handheld device.g0ddyX
3ds has monster hunter too now.
[QUOTE="peterw007"]
[QUOTE="StrongDeadlift"] NaughtyDog is overseeing development, the same way SantaMonica studios did with the PSP God of War games, which I have half a mind to say were MUCH more fun than the console GoW games.
Looks pretty damn good to me.
StrongDeadlift
Regardless of developers, Uncharted should really stay a console franchise.
Its cinematic storylines can only be experienced (in my opinion) with a massive TV + leather arm chair.
Playing Uncharted on the subway or bus...just sounds very strange.
is anybody REALLY going to be playing Uncharted (or the VITA or 3DS in general) on the subway or the bus? This isnt 1998-2003, we arent in elementary school any more. You and I both know the majority of the people who buy this are going to have their asses sitting on their couch or laying in bed playing this thing before they sleep, with the thing plugged into the wall socket.(which is also why im getting a kick out of sheep trying so hard to make the battery life thing a big deal. Most are just mad everyones been hating on the 3DS, and want whatever they can to divert the attention back on Sony )
many people use handhelds on the go still....thats the point of the handheld
what everybody is laughing about is how the 3ds battery was bashed to hell nd back and now its kind of funny thatt the vita battery is worst
