38 Studios and EA'sKingdoms of Amalur: Reckoningtook the top spot in the UK software sales charts in its launch weekend.
For the week ended February 11, and according to data from tracking firm Chart-Track,Kingdoms of Amaluris the first original IP RPG to top the charts sincePokemon Redback in 2000.
Last week's number one,Final Fantasy XIII-2, was forced down to number two with a 54 percent drop in sales week-over-week, while newcomerThe Darkness IIentered the charts at number three.
The majority of the titles in the top 10 saw a drop in sales week-over-week, withMetal Gear Solid HD Collectionsales down 49 percent,FIFA 12sales down 19 percent, andBattlefield 3sales down 29 percent.
Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Gamesre-entered the charts at number 10, thanks to the release of the Nintendo 3DS version of the game.

The Xbox 360 version ofKingdoms of Amalur: Reckoningtook number one in Chart-Track's individual formats top 10 chart, while the PS3 version only managed to snag ninth position.
The Darkness II, the other new entry into the chart last week, took second position with its Xbox 360 version.
