[QUOTE="Zeviander"][QUOTE="fernandmondego_"]Red Dead Revolution?Blazerdt47It will be Red Dead Revelations. Everything is "Revelations" these days... and not just games. I thought it would be called Red Dead Revolution, but from the ex-Rockstar employee that leaked information a few months ago said, it will be called Red Dead Rebellion. :o
[QUOTE="Vatusus"][QUOTE="Zensword"] Agreed. I finished RDR but I coudn't finish GTAIV. John Marston is a likable chacracter, while Niko is notTheEroica
I disagree. Niko is great. Imho one of the best characters this gen delivered. R* are masters crafting characters
Marston was amazing... niko was as boring as it gets, but yeah r* does have excellebnt character development.Boring? Am sorry but if theres something Niko wasnt was "boring"
Marston is my fav aswell, but Niko was also great imho
Rockstar allways delivers!
PAL360
Close to the truth but the Manhunt series (pretty bad imho) are a stain in R* portfolio of amazing games :P
maybe take twoLabaled a disaster by whom? Rockstar in general? Rockstar San Diego? Rockstar North?
__Glad they made it though, probably one of the best games in a long while
R3FURBISHED
TC should put "before release" or somethin in the title so that people can stop assuming R* is calling RDR a disaster. If TC need space then put something like this:
"RDR was labelled a disaster BEFORE RELEASE, says R*"
^^^ This should fit
that, and it wasn't the game itself that they doubted. They doubted that a western-themed game could be a mainstream successTC should put "before release" or somethin in the title so that people can stop assuming R* is calling RDR a disaster. If TC need space then put something like this:

Misleading title is misleading.
But yes, god for Rockstar for sticking to their guns and having faith in the game.

Niko to me felt like a message boy a guy that got you to the next mission. .. marston felt like real developed character with a soul.Sucks there is no PC version. I only played a bit of it on 360... Just stopped playing because you gotta do to many controls in some of the missions. Keyboard and mouse would be way better for it.
Besides from the controls... The music was lacking I felt. Would have been neat if they got some from the Clint Eastwood classics.

RDR > GTA IV
John Marston > Niko Belic
HaloPimp978
This RDR is the game that GTA IV failed to be.
Deeply agree. Gta4 was a tech demo wrapped around a really boring game.. RDR was an amazing game in a really awesome fleshed out world. One of my favorite titles this gen... I actually want to replay it again. Might pick up that Zombie DLC as well though I'm not really a fan of zombies but eh, more Red Dead Redemption to play!

Get the Undead Nightmare DLC! It adds alot of content and it's probably the best DLC I've played this gen.

Ok, I sent you a friend request
EDIT: Topic title changed. The article was posted exactly as it was so I changed it due to confusion.
Those of you that say the game was boring and dull. It's a Western, you know there's going to be deserts and wastelands.
Does anyone remember what Rockstar said about GTA4? They said that they were testing the technology, laying the foundation, and now they have it mastered with GTA5. Same thing happened from GTA3 to San Andreas. RDR was the first open world Western for Rockstar, they were building the tech and foundation, then came the story and everything else. Now that they have the ropes for a Western open world. RDR2 should be 10x better. The jump from GTA4 to GTA5.
[QUOTE="Vatusus"]Agreed. Where's my PC version Rockstar?Best game of the generation so far imho
PC_Otter
There is no PC version. Consoles only. I can think of many reasons why rockstar did not release a PC version, piracy being the strongest.
Excellent game, some of the best weather effects I have seen on consoles
Led_poison
The rain effects are literally the best I've ever seen in a game, the thundering and booming of lightning, the flashes across the sky, the dark and moody atmosphere, the heavy pouring that soaks John and causes puddles to form up, etc.
Just amazing weather effects.
Game was ok. Not great. You spent 75 % of the game watching the ass of your horse, repetitive missions and Mexico part didn't make any sense: Marston did missions to both sides and noone seemed to mind that couple minutes before Marston had helped their enemy.
Niko was a terribly flawed character, and it just goes to show how developers and publishers often delude themselves into thinking they understand the market. Then suddenly pay attention when people pitch millions to kickstarters and buy independent games. Who'd have thunk.skrat_01
Your post doesn't make sense to me, you go from discussing Niko as a flawed character, then treat it as if people don't understand the market (Rockstar?) then talk about kickstarter.
???????
Game is great. The mechanics are a lot more cleaned up than GTA4, the atmosphere it pitch perfect, and while it had stumbling moments (like the filler fest in Mexico), it was very enjoyable throughout.
Oddly enough, it's also game I can't see myself replaying unlike GTA4 which I went through a handful of times. And while Marston was fantastic character, I find Niko to be more likable and slightly better developed.
It had some repetitive missions but overall it was a great game.. i loved its online and co-op missions were fun..

Rain is not best in RDR. not by long Shot. STALKER games has best rain and weather effect ever. by far.Since I've actually played both games (unlike you), I can safely say you are completely wrong.

Probably needed more punctuation. Put a full stop after the Niko bit (which was into Rockstar talking about the character. Then as a new sentence, 'It goes to show etc.). In short. Rockstar shot their own character to pieces in GTA IV, and as developers they can't even read the market half as well as they predict (nor can so many triple A publishers). The game was absolutely a masterpiece in giving the player the look & feel of an old time western and I loved every minute of it my first play through the SP but unfortunately, trying to go though a second time kinda felt meh - looking forward to a Red Dead Revolution next gen. :D

I'm not a big fan of GTAIV or Niko... but GTAIV is the highest rated game ever on Metacritic and sold over 25 million copies. How exactly did they mess up?Please Log In to post.
