They are going for realism and that is the main reason I want this game. I just hope my PC can run it.Eh, looks slow paced and not fun.

[QUOTE="Master_ShakeXXX"][QUOTE="funsohng"]holy crap this is like Gran Turismo..... in WWII.funsohng
"The real war simulator" :D
does this mean it will get delayed after going gold too???that was cold
I do like how people are bashing the game for not being "fun" The game has a learning curve and can take anyone a while before they actually start getting kills in the game.
Meh. Red Orchestra Ost Front is better than Battlefield and it's already downloaded and on my desktop. It has been scientifically proven that in a comparison, when we look at a game that begins development after another game is released, the one made after the other is better.

Is there co-op?
Primarily large-scale multiplayer, but with options for small squads.
Is there going to be aerial combat?
No, but you can call in for aerial intelligence and bombings (I think).
What battles are going to be fought? Are we Russians in this game?
Mostly maps are based in Stalingrad during the seige of Stalingrad. One of the best new gamemodes is where you're fighting for control of Stalingrad, with each map being a different section of the city you have to control. Your team votes towards where to attack or defend. These matches last up to 4 hours. There's also Pacific DLC being made.

BF3 will be multiplat, so I wouldn't get my hopes up.I'm going to have to disagree about the leagues better than Battlefield.
The game might have some more realistic features such as the cock-pit inside the tank, but the gameplay does not look as fun. Battlefield is not meant to be ultra realistic but entertaining... I'd rather play something entertaining and crazy like Battlefield than Red Orchestra or Arma 2.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a pretty damn good game. It's too bad they are not releasing new maps for it but Battlefield Vietnam should be sweet. Battlefield 3 will destroy everything in the genre though.

Anyway...I'm hyped about RO2 far more, there are so many arcade shooters nowadays that BF3 doesn't seem apealing to me. Especially since the best thing about BF2 (Project Reality mod) won't be in BF3
Not to be personal, but I think this game is hyped here only because it's PC exclusive and has a lot of features console shooters don't. But when the game does come out, only a few will play it because the realism will scare off the majority.

Red Orchestra: OSTFront still has a significant playerbase, even 4 years after its release. The truth is Tripwire have a very dedicated fanbase, a fanbase so large that even if the mainstream get scared off there will always been people playing it. Finding a packed server will never be an issue.

Cool theory bro. Its hyped because it acutally looks good. and by the videos it'll be a very nice game, with a good level of realism.

Not to mention they will be putting out extra content for free. They have also said they want the game to last for years to come.[QUOTE="nameless12345"]

To be fair, the North American playerbase has really dwindled for Ostfront. As of late I've been playing exclusively on a TWB US "Old Glory" 50 player server. Whenever I get on, there are a few good-sized servers running, but they look to be Russian. To TWI's credit, the game is still huge in Europe. If anything, though, I'd say a lot of its NA players moved to Darkest Hour.

I think they kind of made a mistake making those two mods official, it really divided up the population of the game. I know they are planning on doing something similar for this game, but I really hope they allow servers to simply run both versions at once so as to not completly divide the population of the game in half.
But the tanks look great, shame that there will only be 2 at launch, but given that it takes a huge amount of work to make each one, its not that surprising.

Only 2 tanks total, or per side?[QUOTE="cobrax25"][QUOTE="Sharpie125"]

Only 2 tanks total, or per side?only 2 total, though they say more will come after launch, as well as APC's.
According to the devs, it takes something like 10 times the amount of work to make tanks for this game then the original, because of the huge amount of work involved with animation.

yeah i saw that, i knew APC's where coming, but teh lack of tanks is somewhat sad, but i do know they are working on light tanks too. I'm hoping teh cardbord........i mean T-26 shows up in game. Can you imagine the suspense of two players duking it out having to be hampered by what the real soldiers at the time were? Sounds awesome. The soldiers back then didn't have a 20ft pole with camera mounted to the back of their tank so they could see everything on the battlefield.
RO2 is going to be more actiony than the first one, but it is still keeping things realistic. Also, I think it is being released on consoles, maybe not though.
IMO, this game right here is a truly progressive FPS. Probably the most progressive FPS this stagnant gen.
