'Red Redemption 2' PS4 pre-order immediately sold out on Amazon

That was fast!

Despite there being no details yet regarding what will be included in the upcoming open world action-adventure video game sequel, "#Red Dead Redemption 2," fans are apparently so confident in the game that they are now lining up to pre-order it. According to the latest reports, pre-order copies of the PlayStation 4 version of the game have apparently sold out on Amazon.

Geez now I really want to go back and play it. Apparently people don't care that we know next to nothing about this game.

The listing for PlayStation 4 version of "#Red Redemption 2" currently shows a "currently unavailable" notice on Amazon. Interestingly, the Xbox One version is still pretty much available. Sony and Rockstar, of course, have a standing partnership, which results in PlayStation players generally getting post-release downloadable content (DLCs) before Xbox One players. This may have something to do with why PlayStation 4 users are more eager to jump in on the game ahead of its official release.

I hope Rockstar really utilizes the power of Scorpio to make the game look beautiful.

Yeah I wonder if Rockstar is gonna make this for just PS4 and Xbone or if they are gonna optimize for PS4 Pro and Scorpio too.

And hey, if they do that, what's keeping them from making a PC version ? :P

What I really hope is for a PC version released together with a copy of the first one ported to PC as well.

@R4gn4r0k: That's all very true. But if they do optimize RDR2 for Scorpio, it'll be the best place to play it, unless they make a PC version, then the two will probably be similar.

The first game was best on Xbox, the second game was best on Xbox, and the third game will be best on Xbox.

I don't care what other people do with their money, I'm going to be playing this game to the peak of its potential so by all means sell out on the weaker platform 7 months ahead of release.

That's not going to happen, not with GTA: Online being the way it is, and I don't see a western styled game being able to do even 20% of what could be done with a modern era game in terms of online potential.

Well then I might just wait. Or get the Pro version if the wait will be too long.

BUT if it has online that's basically GTA online but in the west...that could be huge. West World brought to life. The only competition rockstar has is itself. Either way we're in for an amazing game experience.

I think you're not understanding me, because of the technological limitations of the old west, it's factually impossible to make a more interesting online experience as you've now ham-stringed yourself to extreme limited variables tied to the time.

All the modern things that make GTA online fun and exciting would not exist because again, it's the old west.

I think people will be more drawn to those limitations. Simply because it's a different experience. Who cares about flying planes and parachuting down onto highways when you can ride a horse, hold up a carriage, and kill the man in black. Then head back to the saloon, round up a group to help hunt down the latest criminal, or even better create a group of criminals and terrorize the local town.

No plans as I don't know the price and I have a decent gaming PC.

Yeah I'm trolling alright, because wagons, horses, an empty desert and rudimentary lever action rifles can be made more interesting for an online experience than driving cars, dirt bikes, flying helicopters and military aircraft, sky diving, going on shoot outs with automatic weapons, blowing things up with rocket launchers and cruising through a lush metropolitan environment that feels populated and alive...

You're underestimating the nostalgia people have for the old west. Something like that would also go unrivaled. Every game has cars, helicopters, and shoot outs with modern guns.

Only red dead redemption puts you in the saddle in the old west. And if you haven't noticed...battlefield 1, COD WWII, and now the old west.

Doesn't mean much. We have no clue as to how many "units" Amazon speculates they will be able to procure, thus how many have "sold out." Regardless, cannot wait for this game -- it'll be epic.

A WW1 and WW2 era game that are shooters primarily have the same fundamental limitations that a modern based game does, it's technologically behind the curve however most of the systems are in place.

Automatic weapons, flame throwers, mortors, rocket launchers, cars, trucks, dirtbikes, boats, aircraft, parachutes, cities, etc.

For the West, a ton of things that became reality in the 20th century which both WW1 and WW2 are a part of, simply didn't exist then, variety is limited.

Honestly though I don't think R* is gonna optimize for Pro or Scorpio, I think they are gonna stick to the base versions of each console.

Just like they released GTA V on PS3 and 360 to reach a larger player base and maximise profits.

Multiplats really matter most to those PS owners. I wouldn't be surprised of MS offers the first RDR free with RDR2 purchase later on. Will there be a Switch version?

I don't see why not. If their target is PS4, they're probably going to go with Checkerboard. Maybe even have a dynamic scaling system in place so when it's on the scorpio it just gets scaled up from wherever the PS4 gets rendered at. Is it really supposed to come out this year?

It's not really about bragging. It's more that people are preordering a game just based off of the name. I just found it interesting that people are preordering mor on PS4 than XBO. Could be several reasons for that, like XBO owners are waiting for an official scorpio reveal or more details on how this will perform on scorpio.

Soo gta5 has been in the top 10 best selling game on pc for two years straight more or less, and still no rdr2 for pc.... rockstar must really hate money:(

That's actually kind of funny. And the PS4 will be somewhere in the middle.

You have absolutely no fundamental understanding of technological limitations, the further you go back in time the more limited a scenario will become because you reduce its level of variables.

A game based in the wild west factually cannot have as many things to do as a game based in modern times, it's simply not possible, ergo it cannot be as functionally entertaining to a player.

This isn't an opinion, the more that is reduced the less varied something becomes, that's an indisputable fact of reality.

That of which can be done in a modern game, plus the countless other things that can also be done. I get it, you like the idea of the west, it's a great point in history and something neat for gaming. However, don't act as if the other side of the argument does not exist, because it does.

I just thought of a train robbing heist mission. That would be sweet.

I'll wait closer to launch and buy it on the best console available. I own em all so it dont matter to me which is the better version.
