Hi guys. My 360 just red ringed out on me about half an hour ago, so i called ms customer service. I was pretty sad when i got the 3 red lights, but the guy who talked to me was so great, that im actually happy now. He was really helpful, and the whole process took me less than 10 minutes.

I know i should have blogged this, but i just wanted to prove that even though 360 red ringing might be microsoft's fault, their customer service is great. I hope the whole shipping process takes less time though. Anyway, to those who know, when i get my 360 back, will it have the new 65nm cpu? Thanks to everyone who even looked at my thread.:D

I applaud ur humor, but he was really helpful in get all the info about my xbox and stuff. Plus he also said the ps3 sucks, which cracked me up.

Well you really shouldnt ask in system wars usually people war in here so you might wanna ask on the xbox 360 forums

i got a brand new 360 within 7 days coz my old 360 had disc drive problems.....great service indeed :D

good for you bud, when my 360 bricked they were very polite and sypathic towards me, plus they took less then a week to fix it, hopfully ill be playing halo 3 by mid this week, XBOX customer service FTW!!! best out ther!

as far as i now yes, the new chips being installed, as they are now making new ones with the chip in em, thats the story customer care gave me.

Probally not. They take yours when it comes in and ship out a box back to you the same or next day. Your's goes into the fixer upper box for later. So far I've had to ship back in 3 and all three were older versions than the one I sent.

What..

that was what i was thinking. I had the ring of death and call MS 3 times to come repair it. Each time I call they would make a repair order but cancel it and dont send it to Ms headquarters. Finnally I sort of fixed it and the dvd drive started messing up and the guy I called was actually nice enough send me a " replacement one" while they repair it. now I get to play halo :)..but yea MS customer service hasnt been kind to me...

The reason MS isnt permanately fixing the red light problem is because there are people out there that are 'ok' with their system dying. And thats the real problem.

To all of you who think that im happy about my console dying: im not happy that it died, i think microsoft's customer service is great, and that it gave me hope that I'll be playing halo 3 again soon (cuz of the customer service).

Microsoft's tech support is very polite and curteous but I almost bust a nut when I heard the repair process would take up to 4 WEEKS! The box for me to send my Xbox back in hasn't even shipped yet!

I would guess it depends if they try and "fix" your console or they just replace it.
