Red Steel 2 is a major flop. Only sold 50k. UbiTrash's karma.

Who didn't see this trainwreck coming? Bad sequel to an abysmal game is bound to crash in sales chart, and to think some of you defended it with 'oh atleast it's better than the first awful game!'. It didn't even crack the top 20 in its debut month, and performed worse than MadWorld. Guess this is what UbiTrash deserved for burning over a million people with their first abysmal Red Steel game. The nerve of UbiTrash for thinking they can fool the mass again with this tarnished franchise. Admit it silly Red Steel fans, this lousy franchise is officially dead. Good riddance.

Adverts were everywhere too so I hope no one bothers with that excuse this time. Uninspiring, bland graphics, silly story and setting, and to top it all off, the wrong console to put it on.

First one sold as a launch title that was supposed to demonstrate what the Wii was capable of in motion control.

But it's so odd. I mean sure it sold well, but even Ubi should have seen that with how badly it got reviewed that a sequel would be far too risky. They should have noted it as an isolated incident. A game selling well because it's a launch title, and that's that. Just like Perfect Dark Zero sold well when it was bad.

damn well it had a lot of ads I see, surprised at the low sales.

It's not like everybody has Money to spend every day you know. The game came out when Final Fantasy XIII and God of War 3 came out, it never stood a chance.

and this IS a shame. Red Steel 2 is the only Motion Control Sword Game right now. Now I know that the only reason why this didn't sale is because it's on the Wii.

it's also a wiimotionplus game so maybe that's limiting potential sales base. GunSmith1_basic

I think in both cases the setting was what drew me in, and kept me coming back.

They make some of the best games out there including the Rainbow Six games and Assassins Creed,and Red Steel 2 is damn good, if anything the Wii's audience should be faulted for neglecting great games like this, House of the Dead, Madworld and No More Heroes. Seriously sheep, you guys are failing the hardcore game makers, they aren't failing you.

imo... Its probably because the game just looks so unappealing ... I really hate the art style and just over all look of the game.. But thats just me. I think otheres will agree though

Ubisoft is a big company, but they are nothing like Activision. You can see they put effort in most of the time, and actually take time to release games. Ubisofts Dunia engine that powers Far Cry 2 has some of the best graphics in the gaming industry along with the Cryengine, they also sent the team developing it on a tour in Africa to study everything sort of like disney done with the lion king.

I would take the blame but seriously I don't always have the cash to dish out on every game. The only game I have bought that is NEW this year was Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

The same thing I can say about scores or for the denizens here, graphics. What is important for gamers is whether they will enjoy the game, not whether it received a "good" score or have good graphics or not.

Bad sales completely? Not sure, we'll see in a month.

Dead space extraction was on rails. Zack and Wiki was an unfamilar game andhad a terrible box art that looks kiddy. MadWorld was very very short with little replay value and got very repetitive. All three of those games had little to no advertisement. And I'm guessing Red Steel 2 flopped because it requries Wiimotion plus, not a whole lot of people own that, I think.

Dead space extraction was on rails. Zack and Wiki was an unfamilar game andhad a terrible box art that looks kiddy. MadWorld was very very short with little replay value and got very repetitive. More like Wii core gamer's karma. The few high quality Wii games Ubisoft is releasing on the Wii doesn't really sell were as Just Dance sells millions of copies.

Ubisoft isn't really screaming in pain, more like the few core gamers that like these games are screaming in pain knowing that Ubisoft won't develop anyore of these on the Wii.

It just can't compete with the ten million FPS out there.
Shame though, i heard it was pretty ok.

Add to that, that somehow the game was illegally leaked weeks (like 3 weeks) before the release and you can start to understand what happened. I still find it funny that nintendo or sites like this don't want to chastise the system for its piracy but go full bells and whistles over the 360 and pc piracy.
