[QUOTE="bbkkristian"]It seems like people want free memory. because if Nintendo added $50 of memory, people would still be raging,rjdofu$50 = 320gb, nobody would rage. It's still got the Wii U GamePad and inferior hardware. Of course they will.
[QUOTE="rjdofu"][QUOTE="stereointegrity"]ps4 is $100 dollars more and comes with 468gb morecampzorAnd waaay stronger hardware. and 3rd party support. Burn, Burn and Burn. Nintendo really believes Mario and Zelda will save them. I don't think that is enough anymore.
In a day where you can get a 2TB HDD for like $60-$80, this really is a non-issue. HaziqonfireAccording to complainers, they rather have a bigger console and have to replace a hard drive with a screwdriver than just plug in an external.

The issue is that wii-u is more expensive than both last gen consoles but has anywhere from an 1/8 to a 1/16 of the on-board storage space as its last gen competitors offer. If the wii-u was appropriately priced for what it actually offered( > $200), then very few people would complain. But if you're going to price you hardware at  a certain rate, you better equip that hardware with the expected features.Â
No. That is not a consumer-friendly approach. It's anti-consumer and causes more problems than what they propose. It saves consumers money? Then why is this piece of hardware with oh-so-little memory retailing for such a high price?

They sell a console with no memory for 300 and one with only 32gb for 350. Then say if you want more memory you can buy a external hard drive. That would then make the wii u cost the same or more than the ps4. Now to a fanboi or casual idiot gamer this sounds logical but to a real gamer this is a major rip off.
Why would I spend more money just so I could spend more money to down load games online from nintendo ??
Why for 350 does the wii u NOT have a hard drive built in 2013 ??
This is the type of dumb shit I have come to expect from nintendo. They always cut corners and then say this is not needed for a game console but won't cut the price. When nobody buys their console they then cut the price and say maro and zelda. Sorry nintendo that don't work any more. This is not 1997 this is 2013 the kids that had the n64 are men and women now. Clearly our needs and taste have changed in the almost 15 years we have been gaming but nintendo has NOT. All us old school gamers would love to support nintendo but when there is a vastly better console around the same price point it is hard to stay with nintendo.
With the price of HDD's these days 32GB internal storage is a f*cking joke for a "next gen" system, nothing will change that.
Do you people stop and think why would they would go with flash memory in the first place?
32GB SD card - $20
250GB HDD - $35
Nintendo may be cheap, but they can pay $15 more for 218GB. So it can't be the cost difference.
Â
The less moving parts, the lower the failure rate. Also, flash memory is pretty fast.Â
Nintendo are just a bunch of cheapasses, and instead of delivering a powerful system to usher in the next gen of gaming, they gave us a 7th gen tablet controller with a gimmicky tablet controller that nobody ever asked for. I cannot even fathom having a games console that has less storage than my cell phone.

That's because they never have the library to back them up. Every Nintendo console gets its handful of awesome Nintendo exclusives and maybe a bone thrown from a third party here and there, but for the most part they get slaughtered in terms of games by competitors. Look at the the N64, it had 387 total games in it's library. In comparison, their main competitor, the PS1, had 2,418.

Nintendo makes consoles based around what it wants for it's 1st party devs but the bulk of the gaming market is made up of 3rd party games. So it is no wonder nintendo platforms have almost no 3rd party support and get killed in game selection vs other consoles.Â

Yep, and for some reason Nintendo feels that they do not need to change and continue having these long droughts of no games and miss out on literally every major third party release.[QUOTE="no-scope-AK47"]Nintendo makes consoles based around what it wants for it's 1st party devs but the bulk of the gaming market is made up of 3rd party games. Yep, and for some reason Nintendo feels that they do not need to change and continue having these long droughts of no games and miss out on literally every major third party release. Well nintendo is always been about selling consoles to sell 1st party games that do the numbers and could care less it seems if the other games sell. You buy a nintendo platform to play a couple of good games and then the system becomes a dust bunny. Here I have a ps3 and have all the 3rd party games and some great 1st party games. I can game online and use it as a cheap media hub. I got psn+ and have over 60 games plus themes and advatars ect for 50 bucks a year. I even get discounts on regular games and cloud game saves ect.
I would have to be a idiot to leave sony who supports their systems for at least 8-10 years to go to nintendo for almost the same money. Don't even get me started on pc gaming vs console gaming.
[QUOTE="BPoole96"]To be fair a powerful Nintendo system doesn't usually sell. Every gen Nintendo finds a way to sabotage itself. N64-great graphics, analog stick...cartridge limitation. Gamecube- great graphics...retarded controller...retarded disc format Wii-graphics suck...weird controller Wii U- graphics already dated...Nintendo are just a bunch of cheapasses, and instead of delivering a powerful system to usher in the next gen of gaming, they gave us a 7th gen tablet controller with a gimmicky tablet controller that nobody ever asked for. Nintendo has over 100 million wii units sold and is not supporting that platform so I can't feel bad for them on the wii u. Reggie also has not been bring over games from japan either.Poor reggie.. he's doing such a good job... it's not his fault the higher ups are screwing up and he's eating all the blame.

What part of being a PR mouthpiece do you not understand? We don't know who really didn't want to bring games over from Japan. Having eShop could ease the pain of bringing physical copies over in America by getting niche games digital release.[QUOTE="Joedgabe"]

Physical media is (should be) dead anyways. Â I shouldn't have to buy an external HDD just to keep up with industry trends, especially on a "next gen" console.

I prefer to buy retail copies of games. I'd much rather have physical media own the market than the other way around.
