Well I am very glad that they are taking this approach for the Next Zelda game on the Nintendo regardless of how long it takes, and since it been this long I would rather they try to perfect it before releasing it. Personally for me if the Zelda game was to be perfect the game must somehow have a new feel to it that takes it another direction while at the same time fuses with the old tradition gameplay that this series have been using over the years.

Reggie: "The new Zelda title has to be a perfect... way to make us more money!!!"

Lol. I hope so. An amazing Wii 1st-party exclusive is something we haven't had in a while.

It'll come out eventually, be a really, really good game, and many many people will love it, but then depending on what it's like, people will eithersay that it's the same game as OoT and TP again, or say that they've abandoned the roots of the series. I'm not saying Nintendo can't win, because they WILL win because they'll make lots of money, but they're not going to please everyone.

Sounds good. I don't mind waiting, Wii will have plenty of games for 2010 as it is.

even the worse zelda is still better then most games out now

so i dont see how this could go wrong

of course there are people who hate on TP

but thats just the same people who hated on WW graphical style

-

zelda OoT and A link to the past are those 2 games that appear on most "best game ever" lists

together with mario 64 and tetris

what im expecting is a game in the vein of twilight princess i dont want kiddy any more, I've seen adult link wiith an adult themed story and i like it, I wanna see the further story of him and midna damit the love story between them was left unfinished, I wanna see link become to the bad guy in grief of losing her and try to steal the other triforce so as to break the dimensional walls and get her back.

So basically I should be expecting this game in November of 2011. Cool, hopefully Galaxy 2 and Metroid Other M come out on time.

This might be the game that makes me buy a Wii. I have several titles that I'm interested in but I have enough with the PS3/PC right now, a really good Zelda game may be the ideal incentive.

[QUOTE="mD-"][QUOTE="nintend-man86"] metroid prime was solid. mario kart wii was pretty much solid. wii sports is super sick. i had online for brawl but i never played it. it was all about the trophys manHalf-Way

I meant high quality titles that have came out recently. I pretty much own all the best Wii games (except, Metroid trilogy, NSMB, and Zelda TP). The problem is that I haven't seen anything I've wanted this year and I haven't seen anything I want next year.

your confusing high quality with games YOU like

Are you really going to start an argument with me that Super Smash Bros Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Wii, and Resident Evil 4 Wii aren't high quality titles, just games I like or that ANY Wii game that has recently came out comes even close to the amazing titles I've just mentioned?

The most recent high quality titles that have come are Metroid Trilogy and NSMB. That's pathetic. The only reason I got a Wii was Smash Bros Brawl (one of the best games ever btw =] ) and it motion controls were just an extra. Wii sports was fun, motion controls are good, but they've caused many problem for the Wii (too much shovelware).

Nintendo needs to get its act together. The annoying thing is that they don't have to because casual gamers who are inexperienced eat this **** and buy terrible games like Mario and Sonic Olympics.

In order for it to be a perfect game it must have a perfect story. LoZ stories get repetitive. Nuf said

Why? Is it because it's "save the princess" every time? That's false, you know.

It's repetitive, so is the castlevania series. That's off-putting to some people.

How is it repetitive? What single thing repeats in every single Zelda game?

Having the criteria of "every single game" when there's 15 of them is a pretty poor rationale for claiming the series isn't repetitive.

They really need to take a new direction for Zelda. And, no, I don't mean something as small as graphic style (WW) or time (MM). They're adding fuller motion control, but that's not enough. There also have to be significant changes in the gameplay and story itself, which have been used to death in the previous games.

I wish Nintendo went down the Majora's Mask route for the new game. Termina was such a refreshing change of pace and really expanded the boundaries of what The Legend of Zelda series can do. Majora's Mask was probably the bravest and most daring Zelda and I would be very pleased if Nintendo took some big risks similar to what they did with MM.

Many of the Zelda plots are similar, but in a way such that it has become a staple of the series. I don't think that has ever bothered me; the whole process of progressing through the Zelda games has always been very satisfying. Nintendo has managed to enliven the series with plenty of interesting game-play innovations, too (e.g., Ocarina of Time, Phantom Hourglass, et al). In any case, I'm anxious to see what Nintendo has in store for the next Wii Zelda release (preferably, before the next Nintendo console iteration :P).

How about the fact that almost all of them play the same?

You are Link and have just found out that you are the chosen one -> You enter dungeon -> you find item in dungeon to finish the boss with it -> repeat until last dungeon and then finish the last boss.

Slingshot -> Bow -> Hookshot -> Master Sword.

How many Zelda games do I have to play until that mold breaks?

Sure every world are different and they mix it up a little and there are things in the world's that breaks the core gameplay but thats only side stuff (which really lacked in TP).

What worked back then won't work now. It's getting old, people get bored. Ratings go down and so do sales. It can't be that mentally challenging to conjure some imagination and change the formula a bit.

Maybe not for you, but for a lot of people (like me) it does. Some people just need more variety. Try watching the same movie over and over again and again for 20 years, with some minor differences. Most people would get bored. If not, and it still brings you the same enjoyment, good for you.

Nah. If MW2 and NSMBWii show something is that most people prefer a proven formula over an innovative one. And, when the proven formula is as good as the examples, there's nothing wrong with that.

http://wii.ign.com/articles/106/1060447p1.html

"Right now, it's still in development. But the key message that Mr. Miyamoto and Mr. Aonuma is telling us is that it really has to be perfect when it launches," he said. "That really is what the Zelda fan is expecting."

"So for all of those Zelda fans out there right now, I would say enjoy The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, and know that the Zelda title for Wii is going to come out when it's perfect," he said.

I can't wait to see the first trailer.

C-Lee

Perfect? They're probably going to do the exact same thing they always do and make the exact same Zelda game they always do? How hard is it to just repeat the exact same formula, and story, and characters and villains, yet again?
