Story>gameplay>>>graphics unless we're talking about online games then it goes gameplay>online support>>>graphics.

Sony fanboys think that only ps3 games can look good,I would like that they show me a PS3 exclusive OPEN WORLD GAME that looks as good or better than Alan Wake on 360,remember open world games are more technically demanding than your average linear shooter, more geometry to render, more A.I etc...show me a game with the same lighting or better than Alan Wake, and this game is going to have really heavy physics that we haven't even see yet.

The game still looks amazing, especially considering that its an open world game. Not linear like most games that are called graphic kings.

Alan Wake on a PC will look better than anything you have on a console.

The same idea goes for everything on the PC. It's not that special really.

It looks very good, of course not quite on par with PS3 exclusives, but still very good.

There is an order of places that you need to follow (like Alan Wake), but there are no loading times wherever you go, so I say yes.

Still there is an order of places that you need to go to continue the storyline. Like the Last Guardian. So yeah, TLG may not be a pure open world game, but I believe that it's as demanding as an open-world game. that's the way I see it.

You say that you need to go to particular places to follow the storyline, that a linear gameplay,Alan Wake needs to follow the storyline but you can do it the way you want. Uncharted 2 came in :D

Generalmojo

Please, Uncharted is filled with linear gameplay and an average story at best, while the vastly superior Alan Wake has open world environments.

Judging by previews, Uncharted 2 won't be half as good as Alan wake. The only thing U2 has going for it is graphics and once you get past that, there isn't much to it. :)

Well, you got me. But still, one could argue that TLG is as demanding as Alan Wake. There is a freaking huge beast in the game, I'm pretty sure it's scale it's comparable to AW. And there is no loading times.

Remedy made Max Payne all you ladyboy haters..... Max Payne was not a graphical powerhouse or showcase (even on pc). It was just an allround awesome game, and one of my favorites last gen.

So do not write off this game because it has gone from looking like Jessica Alba's skidmarked undies, to Whoopi Goldbergs turded in underpants.

The game will be great. Remedy didn't have Rockstars backing for being crap developers. Calm down 360 haters, and just put a 360 beside your PS3's and or Wii's, so you can play this awesome title.

Has it been that long already??

Not yet but by the time it comes out (Spring 2010) it will be 5 years since it was announced. In comparson, that's longer than KZ2, Too Human, Splinter Cell: Conviction, GT5 and FF13.

Console... graphics king? That sounds like an oxymoron if ever I heard one. "what happened to this game? Wasn't it supposed to be the next king of being in second place?"

Either way I was more impressed by the RE4/Silent Hill style gameplay mechanics than anything else.

From the footage I saw of it, I didn't think it looked bad at all. Anyone here care to back their claim with some video?

I am a little confused by those in this thread claiming that this is an open-world game and that is more of a draw on system power. I get that point with a sandbox game. But to say just because you can go anywhere in a certain setting and complete tasks on your own, doesn't mean its a huge system power draw like a sandbox game. Am I wrong?

Story>gameplay>>>graphics unless we're talking about online games then it goes gameplay>online support>>>graphics.

jasonharris48
It's Gameplay > Story > Graphics. If you want a good Story you watch Movies, read Books or so.. but Consoles and Games have clearly one priority: Gameplay [They are GAMES after all]

Wow, way to take an '05/'06 screenshot of Alan Wake there. Oh, and lawl at comparing it to the mess that was inFAMOUS visuals (looked all right, but nothing special). I love how everyone is ripping on AW. Did anyone see the gameplay demo? Find me a console game with better lighting, and more striking environments. I can not find one.

I'm sorry but the lighting is the absolute worse thing about the graphics on Alan Wake 360 version andthe game is a blury mess. You migh not have known this but Infamous has diffrent light phases too...did you konw that? There is NOTHIG amazing or "best" about what the devs did with the lighting on the 3l60 version of this game...in comparison with Infamious on the PS3 it looks down right BAD!!

[QUOTE="VitunLehmat"]Sony fanboys think that only ps3 games can look good,I would like that they show me a PS3 exclusive OPEN WORLD GAME that looks as good or better than Alan Wake on 360,remember open world games are more technically demanding than your average linear shooter, more geometry to render, more A.I etc...show me a game with the same lighting or better than Alan Wake, and this game is going to have really heavy physics that we haven't even see yet.gaboi09
??? Ok Alan Wake 360 Infamous PS3 You actually think Alan wake 360 version graphicsis something that would challenge the PS3 lol? EDIT: LMAO at the, better lighting and physics part ofthe post, Because Imfamousdestroys Alan Wake 360 version in those areas and PS3 fan's dont even hype Imfamous for it's graphics.

 you're trying to prove me wrong with bullshots of infamous which are easy to spot due to the fact that infamous has no Antialiasing due to another that the RSX can't do HDR with AA at the same time,Alan Wake looks better than infamous and trumps many other PS3 games, lol those physics in infamous aren't nothing to brag about,we haven't see yet the Physics system in Alan Wake which is one of the strongest feature of the game, come back to me when u can back up your claims and post real screenshots and no downsampled bullshots lol.
