I agree but I think it's a mixture of Jaffes decline and every time Sony attempts to make an online multiplayer game it doesn't turn out too good almost all of the time. Online multiplayer games just aren't Sony's strong suit as they come and go and get forgotten.
You have never Played Socom, WarHawk, Killzone 2 and StarHawk. These are all amazing multiplayer games.
Incorrect. Socom was awesome back in the PS2 days when Zipper had talent. But just like Jaffe, the talent didn't remain as Zipper projects such as MAG and the other Socom games last gen just didn't compare to how good it was back in the PS2 days. Warhawk was good but player support for it didn't last that's why they shut down the servers, it didn't even last the entire gen. Starhawk should follow but I believe servers for that is still up. And Guerilla pretty much abandoned the Killzone franchise and wanted to try something new and made a single player game instead this gen. Yes these games could be enjoyable but the fact still remains that online multiplayer games just isn't Sony's strong suit. They just come and go. It would be awesome if they announced a new Socom & Starhawk game this E3 but not gonna hold my breath.
I'd like to see him go back to making AAA games but with ideas like this there's no way Sony will give him that kind of budget.
Sony should make his studio into a 1st party AAA multiplayer studio. One of his former studios was Incognito which was responsible for Warhawk, which is still one of the best multiplayer games ever on consoles, and tied with SOCOM 2 as Sony's best multiplayer game. Same studio that made Twisted Metal: Black.
