HL2 blows away Halo in just about EVERY category...Story, content, playability...multiplayer with ALL the different mods of the game, espeically one of the sickest following known to man (CS:S).

Not even close!

I remember the day when Half life 2 and halo 2 Come out around the same Time and they were being Compared Quite a bit as to which one was better, LMAO I just dont think xbots Realised at the time just how good half life 2 was, It wasnt just better But Half life 2 is considered a gaming masterpiece that can even Hold it's own by todays Standards and Halo 2 well I played it on PC last night and that game is total generic Rubbish, Bad level design and **** AI, It really made me Wonder why The game is such a hit, Because the single Player in Halo 2 is really Not good at all.

So looking back on Half life 2 vs Halo 2 Today it's not even close Half life 2 is the better game By a gaming mile.

Half-Life 2 was good but I wouldn't say it was a masterpiece.

The only reason Half Life 2 gets sd much praise is because it was primarily a pc game (despite being ironically on the xbox as well). It's the same deal as Left 4 Dead- yes, they're good games, but they're honestly not anything more than good.

And you know. I played HL2 and stopped playing it in about a week. I played Halo2 for about 3 years-- and that being dedicated playing, not just once in a while.

I'm a huge Halo fan. I really like the universe, and CE is up there as one of my favorite games of all time.

HL2 single player is better then the campaign in Halo 2. I still think the campaign in Halo 2 was solid, just not steller. The co-op really makes it more fun then solo though. I just don't understand the rationalization though that since H2 isn't as good as HL2, or CE that it's "crap". Although disapointing the general gameplay was still decent and I had a good time with it. The story while disjointed really expanded on the lore and universe of Halo. Plus Arbiter is badass.

CRAP/TRASH FPS IMO, are games like Turning Point. And Soldier of Fortune Payback.

Halo 2 at worst is mediocre. Which is still a far cry from trash.

It gets praise because it is a stellar game. You just dont happen to like it. Also worth noting its also on the 360 and PS3. The Orange Box.

it was only on the pc for a while, and yeah youre right. but the ony thing is that its so much harder to get praised on the pc platform as an FPS than on the consoles, higher standards due to a larger library of exclusives and former exclusives built throughout the years. especially back in halo 2s day there really were no standards for consoe FPSs its like how halo wars today gets praise, yeah its an RTS game with a control scheme that works, good for it, too bad as an RTS game its utter crap. halo 2 was decent at best and mediocre at worst yet it gets praised as being one of the best FPSs by some people. the ther thing is most people praised halo 2 for the multiplayer again standards. there was no online multiplayer FPSs in the mainstream back then, there were a few on the dreamcast but that was it and 56k come on. and its funny hw as soon as halo 3 came out pretty much everyone mitagated to that game and left halo 3s so called amazing multiplayer.

And yet the game scaled increadibly well even at launch :| The major problem with HL2's release was not how demmanding the game was - because it wasn't demmanding at all, it was the massive Steam bottleneck - millions trying to activate, or unlock their pre-installs at once.

I disagree. The game relied too much on HL 1 which was released in 1998 and the second game was released in 2004. That's a 6 year difference and HL 2 didn't do a great job explaining the situation and the current story. Games with such a wide gap should have some kind of a cutscene at least explaining what exactly happened in the first game.

I seem to remember enjoying both and not muddling the experience with analysis of a BS status between the 2 games.

Why the ":|"? It is not an insult.
