My Advice on how to improve this godly series:

ITT: idiotsjg4xchampThis should be good. Am I wrong? Depends on who you're referring to.
World at War was totally better than Modern Warfare. Modern Warfare was sh!t.DarkLink77

My Advice on how to improve this godly series:
- Dedicated servers for consoles ( since CoD sells most on consoles)
- Introduce new graphical engine
- Remove the story line completly and forget the lame story, CoD is all about online.. those that prefer story can go find a diffrent game. make online bigger and more kill streaks
- Do a freaking cross platform mode

if you are going to buy a 60 game just for an online mode and pay for 50 a year for elite thats really foolish

This should be good.DarkLink77Am I wrong? Depends on who you're referring to. Anyone that is implying CoD is having a "dropoff" or "dying". I'm sorry MW3 in one hour made more money than most of us will make in a life time. That's a drop off? By COD's absurd sales standards? First World Problems doesn't do that justice.
Because they got it on the first day. Okay, let's look at it this way. By this point in its life, Black Ops had sold 18 million. At this point in its life, Modern Warfare 3 has sold 9.4 million (someone correct me if I am wrong). Noticing the problem? It sold over 12 million in the first week silly. http://www.bgr.com/2011/11/15/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3-declares-war-on-sales-records-12m-copies-738m-in-first-week/

Day one records, yes, you're right. Month one records? MW3 was down over Black Ops.charizard1605

All they have to do is make sure the games are fun again. That's what's always been Call of Duty's mojo. They might not be the best made games around, but they're so much fun that it doesn't matter. Modern Warfare 3 totally lost that, and like I said, after how good Black Ops, it felt like a major step down. Bad word of mouth and consequently, poor sales for that game, then, aren't that big of a surprise. To repeat, hopefully, Black Ops 2 will be as good as Black Ops was, and will therefore perform accordingly.charizard1605I disagree. I hated Black Ops. It had the worst single player and some very bad decisions in multiplayer. I quite enjoyed MW3. The single player was average but had some memorable moments. The spec ops was a lot better. And the multiplayer is fun, though very flawed. Honestly, I think you would be in the minority. Most people swear by Black Ops, hate Modern Warfare 3. Black Ops had a really cool single player campaign. The entire Cold War/conspiracy theory sh*t was really cool. It had great pacing, was exciting, and just felt satisfying. The multiplayer was great for parties. Modern Warfare 3 feels soulless by comparison. I have been saying this forever! BO was the best CoD, it is the peak of the franchise, the only competioton it has is 4, W@W, (and 2 for nostalgia.) Anyway, it ha the best co-op made (Zombies) my favorite story in the series, and the best MP. MW3 was a fall from grace, and I really hope that BO takes NOTHING from it, I'd rather 3arc expands on BO in their own way, (worst rumor I heard s they have are going to have a similar **** killstrak system)

Disagree. I would much rather play World at War or Black Ops than any IW developed Call of Duty post Call of Duty 2.Wow...a whole 4.2 percent I bet Activision is getting ready to close some studios down to make up for this massive loss. I'm just waiting for the FPS genre to collapse in on itself like a nuetron star so another genre can come and be popular. Anything but god damn shooters.Jynxzor
It's funny cause TPS will take it's spot lol

I can't really see anything else taking the spotlight away from FPS games. No other genre is as accessible and can be played as easily with other people as shooters are. I don't want less of an emphasis to be placed on shooters though

BLack ops was boring, maps were pretty dull, no real challenges since i can just buy everything with CoD points.
Zombie mode was the only thing that kept me interested

But it was pretty much in stagnation mode in terms of sales once the holidays were over from what I heard.

4.2% isn't much. You could consider it a signal of a new trend of declining sales, but Activision doesn't have to hit the panic button yet. MW3 still made them plenty of money to roll around in and then some.
Slashkice
But I think this decline is going to appear for all future cod games.

4.2% is what, roughly 1.5M sales?
Blops touched 25M sales if I recall correctly.
Have fun counting how much time it will take for it to become unprofitable.
It happen to Tony Haw and GuitarHero. What is stopping the franchise dropping in sales like those two.I think the sale drop for fututre installments will be slower then the sales drop for both of those games.

I sure hope that.
It's about time the industry moved on.
Down 4.2 percent? That's it? Seems like someone was having a slow news day. Call of Duty isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Probably. But it's worth pointing out the article isn't limiting such a decline to CoD, rather they're suggesting this is a trend for gaming in general; ie sales are going down for everyone.
Regardless, it's too soon to ring the deathbell for CoD.
I read that too. That must suck, but aren't all those fitness/dancing games still selling a lot.

CoD is successful because it's the best online shooter for consoles.
[/QUOTE
Are you joking dude. It's the cheapest and unfair online shooter on consoles
super600
I haven't played anything better so far, on consoles.
If you want to see it fall, you will need something to take its place.
BF3 isn't a CoD killer.
Halo and Killzone are not up to par.

You're kidding.I played Mw2 and I thought the Mp was one of the cheapest MP's in a shooter ever because of all the exploits and cheap tactics used like hiding in some camping spot that is really well hidden and killing your opponents.

As opposed to camping spawn in BF3?
Give me a break, they ALL have cheap tactics.
That's not a function of the game but the players.
You can't even name anything better than Black Ops for consoles, because it doesn't exist.

I really don't care much for cod anymore because MW2 left a bad taste in my mouth.I haven't even played BF3 and I may not play it at all.
