"gamers will be able to control system with smartphone"
Cool, Sony copying Microsofts smartglass.
Oh and if the next xbox launches at $300 (with sub) it could make it a lot more attractive than a $430 console.

you could control your ps3 with the psp or not:? This is simple remote play, which Sony used first for its products
Depends on the subscription."gamers will be able to control system with smartphone"

I think a 299$ price tag like what the PS1 and PS2 costed at launch would make it fly off the shelves. (of course given they would also supply their favourite franchises like GT, Crash (Knack?), MGS (5) and GTA V (pay Rockstar to make an ehanced PS4 port) and next-gen FF)
But we have to keep in mind that 299$ back then would translate to 399$ or more today.
I'd make it cost 444$, i.e. the "tripple quad".
[QUOTE="CallOfDutyRulez"]Bad move, SONY. Microsoft could make the starting price $199 with an $80 monthly payment for 2 years and it would crush the PS4.BPoole96
Are you out of your mind? That would cost over $2000 lol
:P Lemming aren't really good at math or logic for that matter.doesint seem like they learned the mistkaes of high priced home console.
finalfantasy94
Yeah because a $170 price drop on the launch model 7 years later is the same thing.
[QUOTE="CallOfDutyRulez"][QUOTE="GamingGod999"]lol.GamingGod999What's so funny? With only 2 AAA franchises to worry about, money set aside for exclusives would come down drastically. With only 2 exclusives left, xbox gamers won't have to consider buying one exclusive and not buying the other. Lack of choice = more sales per game. This leads to same revenue while lower development costs, meaning profit from exclusives will skyrocket.lol. Keep laughing, cow. Microsoft is the one who's going to be making $1 billion a quarter from its xbox division. I expect SONY to follow suit.
[QUOTE="BPoole96"][QUOTE="CallOfDutyRulez"] I wouldn't put it past me. Most people are only interested in what they pay upfront, not the hidden costs. This is going to drive Microsoft's quarterly profits to $1 billion for the xbox division. Good thinking, Microsoft! I can't wait to buy it!!!CallOfDutyRulez
Yeah, I'm sure nobody would notice $1000/year disappearing from their banks accounts.
Perception is more important than reality when it comes to making profits. $199 with an $80/month contract sounds more pleasing than $430.You seem to think most people are as dumb or you...or trolling?

You can buy an iphone at like $600 or you can go on contract and end up paying $1000+. Guess which is more popular.

I bet it'll be $299 with a 2 year XBL contract at $15-$20 a month. What? I think it'll be better for my stocks if Microsoft priced it at $199 with $80/month for 2 years. Microsoft will succeed with that model

I'll dip, or somebody with a little less sense may start to rag on you. However, you're gonna need to stipulate what a PC publisher is, who falls under that title, and exactly how many have moved, comparative to the total number.

Gaming companies that were primarily invested in PC gaming. IE. Valve, Blizzard, EA, etc. All of them are now whoring themselves out to the consolites. Microsoft will win the gaming war. And Blizzard goes both ways, but mostly focuses on PC. They do have a pretty popular PC game, it's called WoW, there are something like 9 million subscribers.

Indeed. Companies have gone multiplatform because of the PS3's massive failure. Had PS3 had a 75% console market share, I'm sure many of the console 3rd party publishers would never have made games for the 360 or the PC. Developing for 1 platform alone isn't enough to cover the costs anymore. With SONY out, Microsoft will command a 90% share on the console market. When that happens, previous 3rd party console publishers will come back to console exclusivity. PC publishers will realize how much pirating has destroyed PC gaming profitability and they'll move to focus more on releasing xbox exclusives. I can't wait until that day comes. My stocks are ready.[QUOTE="lostrib"][QUOTE="CallOfDutyRulez"] Gaming companies that were primarily invested in PC gaming. IE. And how many stocks do you own, because I highly doubt you will earn much of anything. And you're probably too stupid to diversify.

It doesnt seem like systemwarriors undedrstand that if you want a technical leap over whats out currently its going to cost more money. If they sell a systme for $300 dollars they would lose billions.

They will lose billions if they sell a console at too high a price that no one is then willing to buy

LOL... Is the cow butthurt that he doesn't own Microsoft stocks? It doesn't matter if EA has always been a multiplatform publisher or not. My point is that PCs will lose their exclusives and there will be no more PC ports once SONY is out.First off, not a cow, trolltard. Second, I know how to properly invest my money instead of relying on one company. And that last part is just plain stupid.
$400/$500 sounds about right. This would grant Sony to sell the console at cost or with a slight profit.
None the less; too expensive. Not buying if true.
400-$500+ but no BC?More then I want to pay for one. I'd like to know what the differences are between each model. I have no plans to pay over $500 for a game console. Over $400 is still to much. After taxes and an extra controller, but a couple of games, you're pushing almost $700. No tell what Sony's online subscriptions will be like.
blackace
I dont remember NES-PS2 having mutiple models during launch.Just like with every console at launch, ever, I'll be buying the most expensive model as the base model will likely be hamstrung in a lot of ways.
6_Shooter_25
So rumour comes that MS next consoel could be $399 and $499 andy cows go berserk. Now the rumour that ps4 might be $30 more than the MS console... lol
The real question is does the lack of a subscription based model mean PSN is still free?
I'll join in on the speculation when official prices are dropped and the differences between the 2 models are stated by Sony. I will actually pay attention to E3 this year.

Phazevariance
when they go berserk?
the $400-$500 prediction normal for both 720 and ps4 by all fanboys and professionals.
