I prefer 4. It gave me better shock value, was challenging and still fun. I think the way RE5 tried to force in co-op was a bit of a killing for me. Although, graphically the game looked amazing and I thought the setting was fine too.
As was posted above, please bring back survival horror. Buying hugely powerful weapons and always having an abundance of ammo to use, no shocking moments, nothing really scary. Bleh. What happened to RE 1 and 2? Classics.
Resident Evil 4 although i still like 5, and 4 as well ofcourse. I just think both of these games butchered alot of the best aspects of the original RE games. THe combat was the only thing that ever needed improvement, they basically took the game from horror to more action. Although Silent Hill was always the better overall horror game, that franchise just started sucking at 4(yes I think 4 sucks, and don't get me started on the mistake that was V: Homecoming)
RE5 for me but in the end they're both the bottom tier of the series IMO. RE needs to go back to the way it used to be but at least I have the RE Archives Wii series to keep me busy even though I've beat both RE: Remake and Zero already.
I love both but overall RE 4 is better. Much longer, RE 5 for me was 5 hours, RE 4 was about 10-12 I think. Both graphically are amazing. RE 4 had better environments though. I loved the beginning, then exploring the castle and the island, it was awesome. Both also have a lot of replay value too. But RE 4 is better becasue it re-invented the series and is rated one of the greatest games of all time.
even though the series is just action adventure now and not really survival horror, its still fun. i do wish they would go back to the roots of the series in RE6 and try to scare you.
Its like comparing apples to oranges. RE4 had a better story and atmosphere, RE5 was better action and polish. Also I liked some of the new features they added to RE5, but they sure took away from feeling like a true RE game.
RE4 was better IMO, but RE5 is alot better than people sometimes make it out to be. One of the main reasons I choose RE4 over RE5 (besides having Sheva as a hindurance at times) is the control scheme used by the Wii. Also, very rarely did RE5 have moments where I thought I was not going to make it out alive, whereas RE4 seemed to have more of these moments.
I don't know. 4 had Leo who was just an awesome character (in a cheesy way lol) 5 had Chris "biceps" Redfield who had boulder punching action!!! I guess I will say 4 since 5 is basically just a reskin of 4 except not as new.
i like RE4 better. re5 was a little too actiony for me.I actually think im done with the RE series, which is sad because ive been a fan since the 1st one. bring back zombies capcom!!!!!
RE5 is straight action with no survival or horror at all. RE4 has at least some areas of scariness and low ammo. I think RE4 was the better game but I did enjoy rampaging through RE5 with my best friend (yes you can actually rampage through that game, not so much in RE4)
