Resident Evil CV > All RE Games

Thoughts?

RE (original), RE2, RE0> RE CV> RE3> RE4> RE5

CV is just the best. Story, Graphics, Cutscenes, Gameplay, Characters, and Wesker was a total bada$$. RE4 ruined everything imo. thoughts?cubemovies

Well, graphics wise, I think the game is pretty good, but nowhere near the best. I think that all the GC games and the RE5 all beat it, and RE2 is about on par, especially in cut scenes. The game play is far from the best in the series. It's no differant than the first 3 on the playstation.

Characters? Come on! Steve Burnside? Alfred Ashford? A little cameo from Chris. I don't buy Claire as a main protagonist either. She's a solid supporting character. RE4 took the game into a differant direction. It changed Resident Evil, and some think it made it better and some hate it, very much a matter of taste. I don't think the series could have survived basically following the same formula much longer.

I really like Code Veronica, but i still thought RE4 was the best. i Dont like Re5 much at all though.

i didn't say it was survival horror...i just said it was a reinvented success

generally when you reinvent things it usually is completely different than past versions

again...this doesn't mean that developers can't make an RE game of old...that's their problem and decision, not RE4's

REmake> CV>RE3>RE2>RE0>RE original>RE4>RE5 (well it least it had a lot of replay value). What ruins RE4 and RE 5 for is they felt and played like TPS titles. Also being able to upgrade and buy weapons in a survival horror game is rather lame IMO.

RE: CV is an awesome game, no doubt about it, but IMO RE2 is the best RE, for me is

RE2>RE:CV>RE4>REmake>RE3>RE0 from the ones that i've played.

Code Veronica was a great game but it was not the best in the series. I say its a toss up between Resident Evil 4 or 5 depends on what story you liked. When Code Veronica came out on dreamcast it was one of the best games on that system. Then when Resident Evil 4 came out it took it in a new direction all i want now is to be able to look around instead of having the aiming the way it is.

The GODLY RE trinity is RE2, RE4 and RE:CV.

RE5 is somewhere at the bottom floating with Gun Survivor.

I've loved all the RE games. Even outbreak and outbreak 2.

But honestly my absolute favorite was RE4 and I really liked RE5 as well.

even tho it was the only game i havent beat. number 2,(i was like half way) i think that 0ne was the best.. still waiting for dam psn to put it up on the store so i can finish it. i also havent played the gamecumbe remake

I have never play Resident Evil CV (never got the chance to obtain one) yet, so my opinion would be excluding this game for the time being. Anyway my personal favorite is REmake follow closely by Resident Evil 2. I have to admit that I'm one of the few that sort of dislike Resident Evil 4 for taking this franchise in another direction. Reason being is the game is just too easy with the over the shoulder camera angle, and why are you allowed to buy health and weapons in an survival horror game?:|

I think fanboys are just effected by nostagia. I don't see how in anyway the past RE games are better then RE4 and RE5.

I started and completed the RE series about a year before RE4 was released. I think REmake is a better overall game than RE4. Am I being contaminated by "nostalgia?" :roll:

i agree TC that CV was one of the best RE games, everything abt it was nearly perfect especially the environments...but RE4 was a nice change as well.....will see what RE6 will bring after reformating.

The first one is the only game in the series to actually scare me, to the point i was afraid to hold the controller and walk the character around the next corner. Maybe it was because i was still a teen, or maybe it was because i was home alone during a thunderstorm at night. But no game has ever scared me like that again.

Things like limited saves and purposefully bad controls are really lazy, artificial ways of trying to scare people, hence why an RE game has never succeeded in doing so for me. These things in addition to poor stories and goofy enemy designs (giant spiders and lizard men, really?) make the series' attempts at 'horror' more of a farce than anything else. It's the video-game equivalent of a b-movie.

Do I think Resident Evil Code Veronica is the best RE game? Damn right I do.

I personally don't agree with Resident Evil 4 ruining anything though.

RE4 did'nt ruin anything, it still had some of the Resident Evil bits in there. RE5 on the other hand ruined the series with rmaking it ALL action. RE2 is still my favorite though, and a remake of that would be a dream come true.

You cant argue about whats "better" , as BEST is a matter of opinion. BUT my vote is RE4/5 absoulutely stunk to the high heavens. RE games are about zombies, sounds, good story telling, puzzles, using amo wisely, the mood, scary manssions,building and not knowing whats around each corner. Just like any good horror movie.
